First time she sees you cry

You stomped inside yours and Selena's shared home and slammed the door behind you. You heard something fall from upstairs but you weren't concerned about that right now; all you could do was throw yourself onto the couch and sob after your shitty day at work. Everything was horrible from start to finish and to say you were frustrated was an understatement. You could hear footsteps on the stairs before they abruptly stopped, the couch sinking down next to you and a hand landing on your back. "Y/n? What happened?" You shook your head making it clear that you didn't feel like talking.

Selena placed her hands on your sides before lifting you up and sitting herself on the couch, pulling you down on her lap and wrapping her arms around you to hold you close to her. She could tell you were crying, the first time she's ever seen you do so, and it hurt her. She wasn't sure what to do or how to help you, so she just held you close and rubbed your back, giving you some time to cry onto her skin. "It's okay y/n, I'm here. Whenever you're ready to talk, I'm here to listen." You continued to cry for a few minutes, letting out your frustration and anxiety. It made you feel better that Selena was there with you, to know you weren't alone. "You're okay sunshine." The nickname always made you smile and it was no different now, though you were in tears and your day had been so overwhelming, Selena still had a way of making you smile. She felt you smile against her skin, you couldn't see but she smiled back. She stayed quiet though, letting you take your time to come back around. She didn't wanna push you into talking about it. It was something you'd do whenever you were ready.

It took what felt like a decade to Selena but was probably only twenty minutes before you spoke up. "My day was so shitty, Sel." She caressed your sides softly, giving you your time to tell her more. "My coworkers tried to do my part of my job today and then they had the audacity to tell my boss I hadn't done my part. How the fuck could I when they did it?" Selena listened closely as you told her about your day, leaving little reminders that she was there with you. "All I wanted from the moment I had to leave you this morning was to come back home to you." You finished, lifting your head up to look at her. Her brown eyes were filled with concern for you, her hands resting on your sides as she leant her forehead on yours. "I'm sorry you had such a bad day, sunshine. You don't deserve that." You closed your eyes and shook your head, releasing a deep breath before opening them again. "It's okay, I guess. At least I'm home with you now. That's all that matters." Selena smiled and rubbed her nose against yours making you laugh and Selena followed suit. "I love you, sunshine." She kissed your cheek and you smiled. "I love you more." You said before resting your head on her shoulder, kissing her jaw a couple times before closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep.
