You comfort her

She had a really rough day at the studio. You could fell as soon as she got home when she slammed the door behind her and ran upstairs to the bedroom in tears.

So here you sat now, on the bed with her in your arms as she cried. She was talking through her tears, or at least trying to. You could only make out bits and pieces of what she was saying, but from what you could understand - she was upset because it had felt like everything had gone wrong today and she felt like she wasn't doing enough even though she did her best.

You ran your hand up and down her back, your fingers playing with her soft hair, something she always found a little comfort in. "I know you're upset Selena. But you did your best and that's all that matters. There'll be better days. You're doing a great job, I'm proud of you. You work so hard and you always do your best, and I'm so inspired by that. Don't cry, please, Sel. Tomorrow will be a better day." She lifted her head for your neck and looked at you with red, puffy eyes. "But what if it's not?" You cupped her chin in your hands and stroked your thumb across it lovingly. "It will be. I know it will be. This stuff just takes time and patience, you know that. Just keep doing your best. Your best is always good enough to me."

She smiled through her tears and moved her hands to your cheeks before she kissed all across your forehead. "Thank you for always being here for me. I love you." You giggled as her lips went to your cheeks and across your nose. "Always. I love you too."

A few minutes passed before Selena laid in your lap and turned on a movie that you both loved. She fell asleep about twenty minutes through it but you thought it was absolutely adorable. You were so lucky to have her.
