you stole my blankets

You woke up to the feeling of a shiver going down your spine.

There was a cold breeze blowing through the room. You remembered how warm the room was before you and Selena went to bed, so you cracked the window open to let some air in. But you both were so tired you must've fallen asleep before either of you remembered to close it.

Your feet hit the hardwood floor. You rubbed your arms to try to warm yourself up as you tiptoed to the window and pulled it down. You locked it and then went back to bed, only your blankets were no longer where you had pushed them away.

Selena had taken them. Your girlfriend was wrapped up in her own blankets, and now yours too.

You tried to pull at them without waking her, but it was no use. She was laying on them making them secure around her.

You hated having to wake her because her schedule has been even crazier than usual, but you're cold and really don't have any other option.

You bit your lip to bite back the guilty feeling that was creeping up over you as you shook Selena's shoulder until she awoke. "Y/n? What time is it?"

You shushed her softly, trying to make things as quick as possible so you could both just go back to sleep. "I'm so sorry to wake you, baby. But you stole my blankets and I'm cold."

She moved so you could pull them out from underneath her. Her own blanket slipped from her shoulder and she shivered at the rush of freezing cold air that came over her, causing goosebumps to rise over her skin. "Shit, y/n, It's freezing."

"I know. We fell asleep with the window open. But don't worry, I closed it. Hopefully, it'll warm up soon." You explained and slipped under your blankets, jumping when Selena's fingertips brushed across your thigh. "Sorry, angel. Are you getting any warmer now?"

You nodded, smiling and closing your eyes when her hand brushed along your cheek. "Good." She said as she wrapped her arms around you and pulled you closer to her. She closed her eyes as well, almost asleep until you spoke again.

"I love you so much, Sel."

She smiled tiredly and planted a lazy kiss to your forehead. "I love you more. Sweet dreams, sunshine." She whispered and you both soon fell back asleep, much warmer and much more content now that you were warm and closer to each other.
