"Uncle D.J," Ava sang entering the library with her sewing kit.

        "Wassup monster?"

"Why are you in here? Only RayRay and Kai come in here... oh and Mom and Dad," She said then squinted at him resembling King.

"Just reading," He laughed holding up the sportsbook.

"About what?" She rested her hand on her hip and he chuckled.

        "Allen Iverson," He answered.

"Good option, I read dat twice," she snickered sauntering over and sat in Kairo's bean bag.

        "What are you creating?"

"I have a project due next week and I have to make a skirt for my teen living class," she responded.

         "What kind of skirt?"

         "I'm making a denim skirt,"

"What you know about denim skirts? Those were way before your time," he told her and she playfully rolled her eyes.

"I love the eighties and nineties, plus KK always wanted me to make dem for her,"

Nodding, he went back to reading while she sewed. He felt her glancing at him every so often and he put the book down and stared at her.

Feeling his eyes on her, she inwardly giggled cutting her machine off.

        "What I do?"

"What's going on in that head of yours? You keep looking at me,"

"Is Kaari coming back or did she get kicked out?" She questioned.

"Kaari will be staying with me until it's time for her to go off to college,"

"Why she so mean now? I always thought RayRay would be mean to us," she confessed and Dajon stared at her momentarily. It was crazy how much everyone had various opinions about Reign but the moment Kaari's true color was shown they were shocked; including him.

"Why would you think that?" He asked and she shrugged.

"I sorta thought she was crazy... like um... angry-crazy. She never liked conversing about therapy or stuff she put down in her journal... sometimes I would only see her happy with her friends. I just figured she didn't really like us only tolerated us because we're family," she disclosed.

"But... I think I only felt dat way because I didn't understand her. Kaari always said she pretended to want to kill herself and only went to therapy so we could feel remorseful for her,"

Furrowing his brows growing pissed off, Dajon got up and sat in front of her. "When did she say this?"

"A lot... one time when Dad found Ray in tha' bathroom trying to clean her arms she came into Kai's room and said they were gonna send Ray to tha' crazy people home like they did mom," Pausing, she tried to blink away the tears but they kept coming.

"I didn't— I didn't know Ray really needed help. I used to tease her about going to therapy because I thought she was faking. Kaari kept saying nothing was wrong with her so I believed it but then I was confused, Uncle D.J,"

"Why were you confused?" He asked wiping her face.

"Because Kaari would always talk bad about Ray to us but then she would be mean to me in front of Ray and I always thought she would apologize or tell me she was joking but RayRay was always coming to check on me. Kairo doesn't like her..." she whispered the last part.
