"Ouch, ok wait," Reign frowned trying to get King off of her. It was week two of training and instead of just focusing on learning how to shoot, he wanted to see how good she was at protecting herself from men twice her height and size, and she hated it.
"Dis is tha' third time you tapped out," he stressed getting up.
"Yuh keep pressing on mi side,"
"Give gyal a break," Layton said seeing that she was gonna cry again.
"We've been out here for two hours, I got somewhere to be," King glared removing his hand wraps.
"I'll handle ih," Layton replied pulling Reign up.
Staring at her, King picked up the towel and headed inside. Reign took a deep breath and stared at Layton.
"He's so angry," she sighed sitting down and wiped the sweat from her arms.
"Nuh wid yuh," Layton replied grabbing the chair and sat across from her and held his hands out.
Placing hers on top of his, he balled her fists and held them up.
"Mandem are after yur sister and yuh," he informed and she rose a brow about to lower her hands but he stopped her.
"Who?"
"Ever Marvin wuz tied fi... yur Fadda iz stressed," he explained tapping her left hand for her to swing.
"He jus seems angry... wid mi," she admitted.
Shaking his head, Layton blocked her right jab and countered it with a punch of his own catching her in the shoulder.
"Stop being fraid gyal," he chuckled tapping her hand again.
"He's nuh vexed wid yuh... just eena himself," he stated.
"Why?"
"Unnu fadda killed wul heap ah people. Sum before yuh did baan an wul heap more afta. Fi im past a cum bac," he told her.
Lowering her hands, she stared at the grass for a while. "Wi were involved in a shootout?"
Layton stared at her for a moment as she mumbled stuff to herself before looking at him.
"Wi were involved in a shootout," she repeated.
"Listen," he tried to explain but she stood up and snapped her fingers as if it was coming back to her.
"Wi were lakka six or seven... Ava was Two I tink... mum wuz pregnant... she wuz pr—" covering her mouth, she stared at Layton shocked.
"Shi wuz pregnant wid Kai.... dah why he's sensitive fi loud noises... I wuz involved in a shootout," she mumbled then laughed shaking her head, she lived through her first shootout and couldn't even remember it until years later.
"But wait..." she paused squinting her eyes and moved her arms around before pointing to Layton. "Yuh were shooting di guys... wi ran fi Nana's house and di guys came dere and took mum,"
Uh-oh, Layton thought as he stared at her seeing that everything was starting to click.
"Shi forgot us... shi uh... shi... shoot... shi lost har memory!" She shrieked before clapping and Layton continued to stare hoping that was all she remembered.
"Shi met dis gyal... and had dis son wi played wid.... Antwan... or som'p I tink..." pacing, she continued mumbling things to herself as the memories came back to her as if she were reading the Bible.
