Toothless's POV

His birthday? How could I forget something like that? I'm just the worst brother ever.

"Where could he have gone?"

"I don't know, Toothless. I don't know."

Fishlegs looked confused so Rowan translated what I had said.

"Well... He could really be anywhere. But weren't Mist and Eclipse supposed to come back from their trip today? Maybe he ran into them?"

"I hope so. At least they'll be better than us. Although, I don't think they know so he might've just told them."

"Let's hope," Rowan replied.

"Toothless! Rowan! Where's Hiccup? He's supposed to be with the two of you."

"He ran off because we forgot that today is his birthday," Rowan answered.

"Oh. I forgot, too. Gods! I'm such a jerk. I berate him to speak Norse, constantly because I want him to be able to speak it better. I don't remember his birthday. I just- I'm a horrible girlfriend, to-be-mate, fiancée, whatever."

"We're all scolding ourselves, Astrid. But right now, the important thing is to find Hiccup and make sure he is okay."

"No, you're right, Toothless. There's no point beating myself up about it. What's done is done. I can apologize and make it up to him later."

"Wait! Astrid, maybe you could try your bond? He might be able to tell you."

"Okay. But what if he doesn't answer?"

"Just give it a shot, Astrid. You've got nothing to lose."

"Okay. Just give me a minute."

Astrid's POV

Okay. Okay, Astrid. You can do this. It doesn't matter if you've been at each other all day. Just start with an apology.

'Hiccup?' I asked. Strangely his mind was wide open when usually after a fight it'd be closed tight.

I felt his laughter. It took him a moment to realize I was there.

'Oh, hey, Astrid. What's up?'

I blinked in surprise. He was never this friendly after a fight. 'I just wanted to apologize for everything that happened today. Rowan and Toothless are sorry, too.'

'It's all okay. It just hurt that none of you remembered. Anyway, I'm sorry for yelling at you.'

'I'm sorry for always pushing you to speak Norse, too. I'm just sorry for everything. Gods, Hiccup, I've been horrible to you, lately. Can you forgive me?'

'Ya, I'll always forgive you, Astrid.'

'I don't deserve you, Hiccup.'

I felt a shred of doubt from Hiccup as if he felt that he didn't deserve me

'So where are you?'

'Frankly, I got no clue. Neither do Mist and Eclipse. We're kinda lost. By kinda I mean completely and utterly lost.'

'Great...'

'I know. Although, it feels kind of nice just to be lost again. To be with the two of them. I missed them so much.'

'I know. I'm glad you have them.'

'Okay, we'll try to find you guys. Love you, Astrid.'
