The Rise of Light (Book 3: Together Forever)

Prologue

Rowan's POV

I saw Astrid fly straight up from the ship on top of a Night Fury while Windshear followed behind.

The male swooped towards the clouds and towards our group. 

The minute they reached our group the Night Fury started to hover and growl at us.

"Oh shush, Hiccup. They're our friends." Astrid scolded him.

"Hiccup?"

He started growling at me before he realized who I was.

"Rowan? What are you doing here? Eclipse? Mist? I thought you two would've left me."

"Left you?" Mist asked. "Why would we do that?"

He shrugged.

"Hiccup! It's so good to see you again!" Heather shouted.

"Stay back, whoever you are! I bite!"

"Wait... did he just."

"Heather we explained this. He doesn't remember much about his past!" Eclipse shouted.

"Hiccup, do you remember me?"

"Well, yah. We met like seven months ago. I'm not that forgetful."

I couldn't help it, tears came to my eyes. He'd forgotten me.

"What did I say?" Hiccup asked.

"Dear, it's okay. It's just that Rowan here is your brother." Astrid gently explained.

I took out the locket he'd made me and threw it into the ocean. I felt a whoosh of air and then something dropped in my lap.

When I opened my eyes I found the locket, "What?"

"I'm sorry, Rowan. I didn't remember being your brother. I forgot everything for a year except for Toothless. And then I only remembered Astrid. I do remember making that for you, though. It took me forever. I may not remember much, but I still love you. Just like I still love Astrid."

"It's not your fault. I love you, too." He pulled up next to Forestflame and licked me. "Ewww! Hiccup!" He gave me his best innocent face.

Stormfly pulled up next to Hiccup and Astrid jumped off. She said, "You two need to spend some quality time together."

I jumped from Forestflame to Hiccup and for the next four hours, we talked about what we'd missed in each other's lives and our past together. I slowly felt the bond between us spring to life again.

5 months later

Peace's POV

Now, where are those crazy hatchlings?

I mean technically three of them are four years old and the other four are a year old, but still.

Then I saw Dreamchaser and I immediately took off after her.

She swerved down and I, being just a little too slow, flew into a shapeless figure.

We fell down onto a sea stack and I was dusting myself off when the figure appeared.

"Gods! I'm so sorry. It was my turn to watch the hatchlings because their parents are busy and I wasn't. So I was playing tag with them and I was it-" I finally looked up at the figure who had also stopped dusting herself off and our violet eyes met.

I was the first to blink and the spell was broken. "Oh, where are my manners. My name's Peace. Where are you headed?"

"Peace? Nevermind. I was heading to the Hidden World with my companions. My friend was trying to get home. Oh my name's-"
