Snap out of it Erin. You are acting like it's your first day of school. Your not 6. As Erin stood starring into the mirror trying to calm her nerves down.
"ERIN, ITS TIME TO GO" Voight yelled from downstairs.
Okay Erin you got this, it's gunna be great. It's not like you left the maybe love of your life with barely an explanation and didn't speak for 2 years. And it's not like he's going to be your partner anymore so at least there shouldn't be much tension there. Makes me wonder who will I be partnered with?? Atwater, Upton, Burgess, Ruzek, Dawson, Al? But surely not Halstead. Erin couldn't shake the thoughts but sighed, smiled and walked down stairs.
The car ride was pretty silent, Voight knew that she was nervous. As they approached the precinct Erin saw Jay and Hailey roll in. Back game the butterfly's. Okay let's do this she thought.
As they got out of the car Erin turned to Voight "hey hank, I might umm stay back for 10 and wait until everyone's in before I come up?" Voight smiled, patted her on the back "if you say so"
10 minutes passed Erin walked up the front steps and she realised she couldn't be happier. Opening the doors she saw Trudy and wow was she happy to see her never admitting it tho. "Oh my god, is that? No way Erin!!!" Trudy jumped up grinning. "Hey sarge, it's good to see you" Erin hugged platt "Well thankgod I never erased your handprint from the scanner huh, I had a feeling you couldn't stay away for to long, you back for good?" Platt anxiously waiting "umm we'll see?? Would be good" Erin slapped the front desk as she walked away with her usually Erin grin.
Buzzing herself up Erin knew, actually no she had no idea how anyone was going to react. "Hey guys" Erin nervously said as she stood up the top of the stairs resting her hand on her holstered gun. Jay wasn't in the room but everyone else buzzed with excitement as they walked up to her. "It is good to see you kid" Al side hugged her "Boy oh boy I knew you couldn't resist, bring it in" Antonio dragged her in for a hug with the biggest smile on his face "Hey Erin, it is good to have you back" the rest said as they face Erin a hug And then it was as if time stood still, Jay walked in from the locker room not believing his eyes. He stood there for what it felt like minutes not saying a word. Looking at Upton he nodded towards her "Hailey" and walked down the stairs passing Erin motioning Hailey to follow. "Sorry Erin" Hailey upsettingly said as she passed Erin placing a hand on her back.
