It was the loudest thud. Still continuing to shoot the suspect Upton covered Atwater so he could get to Erin. He grabbed Erins vest pulling her to safety while pressing on her shoulder. She had be shot. "10-1, 10-1 Officer shot! I repeat officer shot! Roll an ambulance to our location. I advised there are plain clothed officers at the scene. I repeat plain clothed officers at the scene!" Atwater was trying to prevent Erins bleeding while he heard more shooting happening in the next room. Then it went silent. He heard Ruzek over the radio "Offender down. I repeat offender down. We do not need a second ambulance"
Everyone came running and couldn't believe what they were witnessing, Erin lying there limp. Jay made his way through not understand what the hell just happened. He immediately got on the radio "Where the hell is that ambo!" Next thing he heard sirens whaling in the distant. Voight yelled to Atwater "grab her let's go! Now!" As the met Sylvie and Gabby at the ambo they all of them went numb.
"Okay we got her" Gabby spoke as she took over where Atwater was keeping pressure. "We have an exit hole but I think there may be another bullet, she's losing too much bloody we gotta go!" gabby yelled while searching over Erins body. She was shot in the abdomen as well but no one even noticed. "I'm coming with you" Upton yelled as she got into the ambo. She looked straight into Jays eyes feeling every inch of his pain "I got her"
"Okay everyone we clean up here and then we all go straight to med! Halstead and Me are going to follow ambo to med." Voight yelled stressed as ever.
Everyone nodded, they knew how much this got to Voight. But at least everyone knew the sick son of a Bitch paid.
4 hours after waiting at med. Jay was pacing back and forth. "Hey bro" Will greeted the unit "Dr Rhodes still is operating on Erin, they have fixed up the bullet wound in her shoulder but are having complications with the one lodged in her abdomen. It might be a while until she gets out and even wakes up. So I can give you a call when she gets out"
Jay "I'm not going anywhere, um don't stuff be around Will. Will she be okay?"
Will "she'll pull through, she's strong I have no doubt in that. And Dr Rhodes is an excellent surgeon. Please everyone go rest up Erins gunna need everyone as strong as ever when she gets out" he shook Voight's hand as he walked back into the ED
Voight "I'm going to stay here with Jay, we will message you all with updates once we get them but everyone go home and get some rest everyone's going to need to be in full form tomorrow"
Everyone nodded as they hugged Jay and left. Jay grabbed Uptons hand and pulled her aside "Thanks" he stutted trying to hold back tears.
"I got your back, She'll pull through don't worry" Upton said as she pulled Jay in for a big hug.
