Jay slowly opened his eyes letting the light creep in. He felt a little bit of hope seeping back in. He turned to see Erin still asleep soundly. He rolled out of bed grabbed the sweats that were lying on the floor next to his bed. He walked into the kitchen, leaving Erin a note 'be back soon, getting breakfast'

Erin woke, she turned around to hug Jay but there was no Jay. Her heart sank. 'He left?'
She got up angrily, grabbed her clothes and walked to the bathroom. She walked out grabbed her phone and keys and walked out of the bedroom. She noticed something on the bench, when she read it she broke a smile and sighed. Happiness flooded her body. It wasn't a one time thing.

About 10 minutes later and Jay walked into his apartment to see Erin looking out the window with a coffee in her hand. She spun around "um sorry I made a fresh pot I hope that's okay?"

Jay walked up to her while placing the paper bag down on the kitchen counter. He grabbed Erin on the waist. "It's completely okay"

Erin smiled and pulled him in for a hug, she had so much love for him right in that moment.
As they broke from there hug jay walked to the kitchen counter, pulling out some fresh bakery goods. "I got a couple different things because I wasn't sure what you'd want"

"It's perfect Jay" Erin said calmly

After they both ate and chatted a little, bit about old memories and good times Erin spoke up "Are we good?"

"It's a start" Jay smiled

After they'd been laying on the lounge for a while Erin got up "As much as I don't want to leave I better get going, I need to start apartment searching"

"Move in here" Jay gestured

"It's too soon Jay, I don't want to rush things" Erin apolitically stated

"Probably a good idea, I will talk to you later" Jay pulled her close and kissed her cheek
"I'll walk you out"

"Maybe we can play scrabble again soon" Erin joked

"Maybe" Jay grinned as she walked out the door

It started to go back to normal, it would take time but this was a step forward. In the right direction and they were both happy about that.
