Erin and Noah had been in hospital for 2 weeks, today was finally the day they got to go home. Everyone from the unit had been helping Jay get the babies room organised while Erin had been in hospital so it would be done by the time they got home.
Erin was sitting in the hospital chair rocking Noah, Jay was having a nap on the bed. Will came in quietly trying not to wake up his brother, he whispered to Erin "How is my favourite nephew going?" Erin smiled "Really good, doctors are really happy we get to go home today" Will laughed as he pointed at Jay "And what's he got to be napping about?" Erin rolled her eyes "He has still been working Will, he didn't want to take any time off until I got home, he is exhausted" Will continued to laugh "Well he better get use to it" Just as he said that Jay woke up, rubbing his eyes "Sorry how long was I out for" "It's okay Jay don't stress, here can you take him? I need to go to the toilet and pack up my last couple things before we go" Erin passed Noah to Jay and walked off.
Few hours went by and after being discharged from med and a slow ride home as Jay didn't want to put his son in any risk they were finally home. Jay unlocked the door and threw the bags inside, Erin followed him holding Noah. She walked straight to the nursery and couldn't believe her eyes "Oh my god Jay, it's beautiful" he pulled her in for side hug and looked down at her "Everyone pitched it, team effort" she chuckled "I can't believe it, we are a family now Jay" he took Noah from Erins arms and cradled him "We done good, I mean look at him he will be getting the girls in no time" Erin laughed "He's 2 weeks old" he shrugged his shoulder "So?" She just shook her head "I do have to admit we made a pretty good looking kid and on that note I'm going to shower in peace" she gave Jay a kiss a walked off.
Erin hadn't been in the shower long when she heard Noah crying, she turned off the water and got out wrapping a towel around her. She walked into the nursery and saw Jay sitting in the rocking chair trying to settle him he looked up and saw Erin standing there "Babe I got this, you can go shower it's okay" she walked closer "I know it's just I miss him every time I walk away from him" he smiled "Yeh I know, I finally have a couple weeks off and I'm already dreading going back and not being with you guys every second of the day" she walked over and sat on Jays lap as he held Noah in one arm "Your going to be the best dad" he looked up at her "And you already are the best mum"
In had been a week since they bought Noah home, they were both exhausted but they didn't expect anything less with a newborn. Erin was out in the kitchen cooking breakfast, Jay woke up and tip toed out trying not to make any noise, he saw Erin leaning up against the fridge with it open and her eyes closed, he chuckled and walked up to her and rubbed her shoulder trying not to startle her "Hey Erin" he whispered, she opened her eyes and looked at him "Oh hi, god I didn't know being this tired was possible" he nodded as he grabbed himself a coffee "Yeh I feel you, look I will get up with him tonight, just make sure you have mill pumped and I will handle it" she forced a smile "Jay you don't hear him but it's okay really, you go back to work in a week you can't exactly be going back like I zombie" he sat down at the dining table "Yeh don't remind me" he sighed, his phone started buzzing "Um it's Hailey, a couple of the guys wanted to pop round and say hi if you feel up to it" "Yeh sure seeing adults might actually be nice" she chuckled.
Later that after the door bell rang, Jay walked up to answer it, it was Hailey, Adam and Kev. "Hey guys, come in" Jay said as he opened the door.
Adam "Boy you look like shit" the rest of them tried not to laugh.
Jay "Whatever you do don't say that to Erin" he pointed at Adam with a straight tired face.
Hailey "Where is Erin?"
Jay pointed to the nursery "Feeding Noah she will be our in a minute" Hailey nodded as she walked away.
Kevin held up a six pack of beer "I thought you might want one of these" Jays eyes lit up as Kevin passed him a beer. They all sat around and started chatting.
Erin was sitting in the rocking chair breastfeeding Noah when she saw Hailey walk in "Hey Hailey"
Hailey "How's mumma doing?"
Erin "Tired, if tired is even how I feel right now"
Hailey "He's not sleeping huh?"
Erin "Barely but hey he's perfect so I'm not complaining" she stopped feeding and fixed her shirt up "Do you want to hold him?"
Hailey walked up nodding "I'd love to" she held out her arms as Erin carefully placed Noah in them "Wow he's beautiful, he's going to be exactly like Jay"
Erin laughed "Yeh should I be worried" she watched as Hailey cooed over him "Your a natural"
Hailey "Yeh I gotta say babies love me and listen if you ever need a break I'm your girl. Also Kim says hi, she's doing some overtime but she says she will pop over soon"
Erin "Thanks guys I appreciate everything you's have done and keep doing, we'd be lost without you guys" she smiled as she grabbed Noah and placed him in his bassinet "Come on let's go catch up"
Erin walked out with Hailey slowly shutting the door and holding the baby monitor "Hey guys"
Adam "Hey Erin you look great!"
Erin rolled her eyes "Let me guess Jay told you to not say anything about how shit I look"
Jay scratched his neck as he gave Adam a look "Umm no nothing like that, well I guess maybe, sorry" Erin just laughed at him "It's fine Ruz don't stress"
Kevin walked over and gave Erin a hug "Miss you girl, how you been?"
Erin nodded as she sat down "Tired, tired and a dash more tired" she said yawning "But I wouldn't change it for the world"
They all chatted into the night, ordered pizza and had a couple beers. After they left Erin went up to Jay who was cleaning up in the kitchen, she walked up and wrapped her arms around him and nestled her head into his back.
Jay smiled and sat the dishes down "How's my girl doing?"
Erin "Good, I'm really happy Jay"
Jay "Me too" he watched as she was yawning "Come on let's get you to bed"
Erin nodded as she followed him, just as they got comfy in bed they heard Noah cry over the monitor, she went to get up but Jay put his hand on her "I got this" she watched Jay walk out as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
