Jay was sleeping soundly on the hospital chair in the corner of Erins room. Erin looked up for her bed over at him, he looked uncomfortable but peacful. Not wanting to wake him she tried reaching over to grab some water. There was a slow thud and a groan game from Erin "Dammit"
Jay woke up in shock and stood up from his chair quickly rubbing his face to wake him up.
Erin "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you!" She quietly said
Jay yawned while he walked towards her "Nah I wasn't sleep just resting my eyes all good. What the hell were you doing anyway?"
Erin pointing at the cup on the ground "Water"
Jay picked the cup up and poured Erin some water passing it to her "Jay go home, it's 5 in the morning go get some rest and come back later" Erin said looking up at him
"Who said I was going to be coming back? I might have plans later" Jay joked
"Fine go do what you gotta do then" Erin sighed turning her head away from him.
Jay walked up to her, bent down and gently turned her face to face his "My plans are to come back here lately to see you, there's nothing else I want to do more"
Erin smiled, and grabbed his hands. Jay kissed her forehead before walking towards the door. "I know that case was hard on you as well so if you need to talk I'm here" Erin spoke up waiting for a reply but just seeing Jay nod at her as he walked out.
Few hours passed and Erin was waking up from her sleep, as she was opening her eyes she heard a knock on her door. It was Dr Rhodes and Will Halstead.
Dr Rhodes "Hey Erin how you feeling?"
Erin "Like I got shot 2 times"
Will "Yeh it's going to hurt for a few weeks but before you know it you will be back out there chasing down bad guys"
Dr Rhodes "Erin the bullet that was lodge in your abdomen caused a few complications"
It had been a couple minutes after Dr Rhodes was explaining Erins injuries. She was blank, the room was quiet. She didn't know how to feel.
Will "Hey Connor I got this" he nodded towards Dr Rhodes are he existed the room. "Erin"
Erin "Yeh um sorry, I heard I'm just trying to process everything" she paused and looked up at him "So that's it? I can't have children?"
Will "There's a very slim chance of you falling pregnant ever yes, I'm really sorry Erin"
Erin "Thanks Will. Look can you not say anything to Jay I need to be the one to tell him if it comes up"
Will "No worries Erin, look I don't know where you's are at, but I know that Jay loves you. He has always loved you. In my eyes you's are meant to be together" he smiled standing up "I gotta get back to work but anything you need just buzz one of the nurses to come get me"
"Thanks will" Erin smiled closing her eyes.
She couldn't stop thinking, she just kept playing what Dr Rhodes had said to her over and over in her mind. Will had said that they were meant to be together but how could she be together with someone when she maybe couldn't give him a future he would want.
