Sirens, Lights, Beeps. Erin was going in and out of consciousness. Jay was sitting in the back of an ambulance as they were on their way to med. Gabby was in the back with them working on Erin. They weren't sure what was happening, she wasn't cut bad or shot anywhere.
Gabby "Sylvie I think she might be misscarriaging, that's where all this blood is coming from" She looked up at Jay who had a shocked and worried look on his face "Jay how far along is Erin?"
Jay stuttered and couldn't say anything.
Gabby "JAY TALK TO ME"
Jay "I didn't even know she was pregnant, she said she felt off the last couple days but that's it, that's all I know" he squeezed Erins hand and tried to hold back tears.
They arrived at Med and Sylvie raced around to open the doors as she helped Gabby get Erin out of the rig.
Maggie came rushing out "Okay CPD in the house, Gabby take her to Baghdad"
Jays brother Will came rushing out "Okay what do have" he saw the look on his brother and looked down to see Erin "Jay we got her wait out there"
Gabby "She lost a lot of blood at the scene minor cut on her leg, no signs of rape but there is severe bruising on her abdomen and maybe a few cracked ribs and I think she may be misscarriaging causing all the blood"
Will "Oh god, okay transfer on my count. 3...2...1" they transferred her onto the hospital bed "Okay Erin hang in there for me, Maggie page Dr Rhodes and prep the hybrid OR, we need to operate now!" He yelled and then they rushed her over.
Everyone was waiting in the emergency room, Jay was sitting with his head in his hands fighting back tears. Hailey came over to comfort him.
Hailey "Hey Jay, she's going to be okay" she grabbed his hand and squeezed it
Jay sobbed "Hailey she was pregnant and we didn't even know, well I don't think she knew either. How could I let this happen to her...It's all my fault"
Hailey "Jay it's not your fault" before she could say anymore Will and Dr Rhodes came into the waiting room.
Dr Rhodes "Jay" The whole room stood up and walked over "Erins going to be fine, but I'm really sorry she did have a miscarriage and we couldn't do anything to prevent it. She also suffered serve internal damage and some cracked ribs so it's going to be little while before she's back on her feet and also it's going to take an emotional toll on her so I haven't told her what's happened I wasn't sure if you'd want to or not"
Jay rubbed his hands through his hair. Voight grabbed Jays shoulder "We'll go in together, I will be there if you need me Jay" Jay nodded at Voight and everyone came up and hugged Jay and apologised. She'd lost a baby no one had any idea about.
Jay slowly walked into Erins room trying to fight back tears.
Erin smiled when she saw him "Hi" she held out her hand for his.
Jay started crying and pulled up the chair next to her bed "Erin I'm so glad your okay, I'm so sorry"
Erin "Hey hey, it's okay. I'm okay"
Voight was leaning on the door frame "Hey kiddo" she smiled at him as he walked in "How you feeling"
Erin "Sore but fine, stupid if anything"
Voight "Nah your okay, it's all good now. Look Erin did that guy do anything to you?"
Erin "No he didn't, you's got there just in time"
Voight "Okay good, look you don't have to worry about him anymore anyway" she nodded she knew what that meant. "Listen I'm going to go, but Jay I won't be far if you need me" he winked at Erin and walked out.
Erin "Jay, what was that?" She was confused
Jay lifted his head up "Erin...umm did you know you were pregnant?"
Erin lost for words "pre...pregnant?"
Jay "Yeh um and the reason you lost so much blood was because of all the impact on your stomach. You had a miscarriage Erin" he could see the look on her face, lost. Empty. "I'm so sorry"
Erin quietly sobbing "Hey, no it's okay. Look it obviously wasn't meant to be, it's okay. We'll be okay" hiding the fact that it was killing her inside.
She wasn't sure how to feel, she hadn't even had time to become attached to the baby but she knew how slim it was for her to even fall pregnant let alone even be pregnant. So she wasn't sure what to make of this situation. It could have been her only chance.
