Jay was sitting on the lounge watching a hawks game, Erin had been in the shower for a while now but he didn't question it, she barely got to have a shower that lasted more then two minutes. Their 12 week old Noah was sleeping soundly.
All of a sudden Jay saw Erin in the corner of his eye, when he looked at her she dropped her robe revealing a lacey lingerie outfit. His mouth fell open he was lost for words. He couldn't have gotten up quick enough to follow her to the bedroom.
After an hour they both fell apart and stayed where they were for a couple minutes. Erin rolled over into Jays arms and kissed him. "Wow" Jay panted "Yeh I know" she said as she was also out of breath. And just like clock work they heard Noah over the baby monitor "Well at least we finished this time" she laughed giving Jay a quick kiss before getting up.
Jay walked into the nursery and saw Erin breastfeeding Noah on the rocking chair, he slid the ottoman over next to her "So two weeks left until you can go back to work? Have you thought much more about when you want to go back?"
Erin sighed as she rubbed Noah's cheek "Trust me I want to go back, I miss it so much. God I haven't worked since I was 20 weeks pregnant and I thought I'd want to get straight back into it when I was able to but look at him, how am I suppose to leave him"
Jay smiled as he looked into Noah's bright green eyes "Yeh I know, it's hard trust me. I'm not pressuring you into going back at all Erin, but your you Your eventually going to want back in on the action"
She finished breastfeeding Noah and placed him in Jays arms "Yeh I know, it's just this job isn't the type of job where I can be like I only want to work part time" She sighed "Jay if it was only one of us in there I wouldn't hesitate but" she started getting emotional "Theres a risk everyday that one of us might die, what happens if we both do and he's left with no one" Jay quickly stood up putting Noah down, he went over an rubbed Erins shoulders as he bent down to her level "You can't think like that" he wiped a tear from her face "Erin, if you don't want to go back then you don't have to" she turned her head away "But I do" Jay sighed as he bought her in for a hug "Well then let's just give it a couple weeks and see how you feel then? There's no rush" she nodded her head into his chest.
The next morning Jay picked Hailey up for coffee, they decided to get breakfast as well before heading in. They ordered their food and sat down in a booth. Hailey could tell Jay had something on his mind.
Hailey "So I hear that Al might be taking some time off, which is strange Al never takes time off. I think he really wants to reconnect with Meredith" still there was nothing from Jay "So I met this guy, seemed really nice but turned out he was gay" still nothing, she started to get impatient "JAY!"
Jay jumped a little in his seat "Oh sorry Hailey, what were you saying?"
She laughed a little and told him not to worry. Their food arrived, they ate and chatted a little bit. She decided not to push about what had him so distracted, she knew he'd told when he was ready.
Jay "Erin isn't sure if she wants to come back"
Hailey "What really? That's not like her, I thought she was itching to come back?"
Jay shrugged "Yeh so did I, she's just worried about Noah being left with no one incase something happened"
Hailey reached out for Jays hand "Jay you know it's very unlikely that that would happen...But I do understand where she's coming from. She's a mother now you can't expect anything less can you?"
Jay "Yeh I guess your right, that's what I love about her. Even though she acts so tough, she is so caring"
Hailey nodded "Your really lucky Jay, you's went through hell to get where you are but what you's have is real"
Jay "Yeh I guess I am" he smiled at her and then got distracted over a text they both received off Voight "Right we gotta go" as they both got up Jay grabbed some money and put it on the table.
Hailey "Ahhh see and a gentleman too, if only there were more guys like you out there"
They both got in the car and drove off to the location, there was cop cars everywhere and people shouting. There had been a pile up, one of the worst ones Jay had ever witnessed.
