Meanwhile Jay was laying in a basement. He'd been beaten but he was still hanging on, he knew they had to be getting close. The basement door opened and he saw Louis walking down.
Jay spitting out blood as he started to speak "You do realise if I'm a cop your already screwed so why are you still doing this?"
King "Because then we have leverage"
Jay shook his head "Man if you wanted me as leverage you would have already contacted them, your screwed"
King walked over and punched Jay in the face shutting him up, all of a sudden the door came flying open "CHICAGO PD, GET DOWN ON THE GROUND"
Hailey came running over to Jay "Jay you okay?" She started untying him.
Jay mumbling "Yeh I'm good just get me out of here"
Hailey "Okay come on, there's an ambulance out the front let's get you checked out"
Voight walked up to Jay and Hailey as Jay was sitting on the ambulance "Hey Jay, you good?"
Jay "Yeh I'm good, did we get him?"
Voight nodded "Yeh we got him"
Jay "Good, um Hailey can I borrow your phone? I better message Erin tell her I'm all good" Hailey paused and gave Voight a worried look "Hailey?"
Hailey "Erins at the hospital, she knew something was up so she came to the district. She was there a few hours and then something happen so Kim took her to med. I haven't heard anything since"
Jay shot up "Okay let's go then"
Voight "Okay come with me, Hailey finish up here and then tell everyone to meet at med"
Meanwhile at Med.
Kim helped Erin into the hospital, she started yelling out for help. Will rushed over and helped bring Erin to a room. He saw the blood stains on her jeans and took a deep breath calling for a Natalie.
Will "Okay Erin, your 34 weeks along? Lay back I just want to check on the baby okay?"
Erin nodded and grabbed Wills hand "You do whatever you need to do to keep this baby alive"
Will "Erin, I'm not going to sugar coat it, it doesn't look good. We need to do the caesarean now"
Natalie grabbed her hand "Your going to be fine, I will be here every step of the way"
Erin "What about Will?"
Will shook his head "I won't be in the OR, I can't operate on you because you are family but don't worry your going to be in great hands"
Natalie "Okay we have to do this now, Maggie tell them we are coming up now" she nodded to Will as she rolled Erin out of the room.
Suddenly Jay came running into the ED just as he saw Erin get taken into the elevator Will stopped him "Jay come on let's get you checked out" Jay tried pushing Will out of the way but Voight grabbed his arms "Jay calm down"
Will "Erins in good hands, they are going to be fine. Let's get you checked out then you should have a beautiful baby boy to go see" Will forced a smile as he ushered Jay into a room.
Half an hour later Maggie knocked on the room that Jay and Voight were in, Will had just finished stitching Jay up "Hey Jay, if you follow me I will take you to your son" Jays face lit up "Congratulations you have a very healthy baby boy, obviously he came earlier so he is up in the NICU, but the doctors have no worry that he's going to be okay" Jays head dropped in happiness as he started to tear up, Voight looked over at him "Congratulations Jay"
Will patted him on the back forcing Jay to turn around and embrace him with a hug. Suddenly it hit him, what about Erin? He turned around suddenly and looked at Maggie "Erin?" Maggie paused and gave Will a helpless look "She lost consciousness when they delivered the baby, but they have hope. They are doing everything they can" Jay took a deep breath as Voight rested his hand on his shoulder "Come on Jay let's go see your boy"
As they stood in the NICU Jays heart melted, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His son, he was so small but he was his. A nurse came over to Jay "Did you want to hold him?" Jay nodded "I'd love to" Jay sat down on a chair as the Nurse walked over with his baby, she placed him in Jays arms, Jay started tearing up as he looked at Will and Voight "I can't believe it, he's so tiny. I just need Erin to be okay" Will knelt beside him and just as he did his phone went off, he looked down and back up at his brother smiling "Erins okay, she's in recovery now but she should be waking up soon if you want to go wait for her" Jay sighed with relief as Voight grabbed the baby from his arms "Halstead go, I will stay with this little guy"
Jay followed Will as they went to Erins room, Will left Jay as he walked in. All he could think was how vulnerable she looked, he felt like he hadn't seen her in forever. He was so excited to tell her about the arrival of their beautiful baby boy. He knew it wouldn't be long until she'd wake up so he sat on the chair beside her and grabbed her hand and waited patiently.
Erin started to toss, her eyes slowly opening "Jay?" Her voice was croaky.
Jay shot up as he stood next to her "Yeh baby in here" he brushed her hair back as he kissed her hand.
Erin "The baby?"
Jay lent down to her level "We have a beautiful baby boy and he's been patiently waiting to meet you"
Erin started to cry with happiness "I want to see him"
Jay nodded as he got up "Just let me go get a nurse"
Jay made sure it was okay with a nurse to take Erin to go see their son, he wheeled Erin up to the NICU and as they entered the room Hank was sitting their holding him. Erin smiled and started crying, although he had tubes and cords attached to him he was more then she could have imagined. As they got closer Hank stood up carefully from the chair "He's been waiting for you" Hank slowly placed him in her arms "He's perfect Erin, I'm proud of you kid" she smiled at him "Thankyou Hank" he gave Jay a hug "You done good Halstead" he paused "I will leave you's too it, I'm just a phone call away if you need anything" Jay shook his hand "Thanks Grandpa Hank" he smirked letting out a tiny laugh "I guess I will have to get use to that" Voight just shook his head laughing as he left the room.
After an hour or so admiring there son, Erin could feel Jay dosing off. She nudged him "Hey you, so are you going to tell me what happened? You look like shit" she laughed. Jay just shook his head "After everything you have been through tonight that's what your worried about" she nodded her head "Yes because that's what I do I worry, but we do have something more important to worry about" Jay raised his eyebrows "And what's that?" Erin looked down at their son "Well we can't keep calling him baby Halstead" Jay rubbed the baby's cheek "Yeh I guess your right, any ideas?" She nodded "Noah William Halstead" Jays eyes lit up "It's perfect"
