What is New Age spirituality?

What is so right about following your own spiritual path, compared to science and organized religion?

We live in a world of duality - a dialectical world

In this world, there are multiple ways of looking at life, not the wiser

Constantly, to assert yourself in life - you have to choose a path

You have to search for people like you, constantly improve, make an effort to reach your highest power

Or you could just forsake the belief in an afterlife to go ahead and instead create something that will ensure humanity's survival, or at least answer questions about the nature of life

I've seen my fair share of judgmental people from psychiatrists, atheists, teachers, zealous aunts, overly eager virgins, Baptists, Catholics, Hindus, Muslims, Universal Unitarians, The New Age, cults like the Gourasana and Jehovah Witnesses

There are four steps to finding what you believe

1. Research - pushing the boundaries of what you know

2. Prayer to a higher power, or to yourself

3. Meditation - Stretching imagination into understanding

4. Forget about it - integrating healthy secularism

I grew up in the Church, and I'm just as grateful for it as much as I wish I never got wrapped into it. I was enamored with Jesus and the sacrifice made on the cross

Jesus had created a life for us after ours ended

We could either engage in a life of sin, or servitude and virtue - leaving it up to us to make the best choice

My mom's family Baptist but her spiritual, my stepdad Jewish, my dad Catholic, stepmom New Age

This led for a lot of questioning

Into my teenage years, retreating from my peers into a more religious, conservative, and Eurocentric point of view

Convinced I could be a morale - so long as I remained a virgin

Experiencing a "dark night of the soul"

Come to see dualistic questions cannot be readily answered

Becoming spiritual
