For the past thirty minutes, Lane had stayed outside finishing off his old pack of cigarettes. Everyone was on edge on how Lane was going to get his revenge on them. And they knew he would, no doubt.

Katie had slightly broke from her statue like state. She continued to remain silent. Max, Jett , and Axel all played cards. Margo lays across a velvet chair that matches the couch. She continues to read her book in silence. Phoenix, Frankie, Lola, and Rebel all watch movies from the 50's and 60's on the velvet couch. Phoenix grumbles at the fact there are only three available channel. The other two channels, besides the oldies channel, are the news and children's programs.

Every once and a while, Rebel will turn and ask Katie to join them. But the blonde shakes her head and stares down at the table. She still hasn't eaten and it didn't seem like she would if they continued to beg her.

The front door opens, making everyone highly alert. Lane steps inside, the smell of his cigarette smoke filling the air. He shivers from the chill outside. Everyone watching him in the corner of their eyes, trying not to stare directly at him. He goes to the kitchen and puts his empty coffee mug in the sink. He begins to walk towards the hallway when he lightly nudges Katie's shoulder. She automatically jerks away from his touch. The ones at the table stare at her with wide eyes, wondering how the crime lord would react to such an offending action.

"My office. Now." Lane commands out loud to the blonde, ignoring that fact she jerked away from his touch. He continues on to the hallway. "And don't play deaf, I know you can hear me."

Katie closes her eyes, letting out a heavy sigh. She lowers her head and purses her lips. The blonde rises from her seat and slowly makes her way to the hallway. Before walking into the darkness, she looks back to see Rebel giving her a worried look. She softly nods to her before she follows Lane to his office.

The blonde slowly makes her way to Lane's office, the door wide open for her. When she steps inside, she sees the crime lord sparking flames in the fireplace to heat up his chilly office.

"Close the door." Lane commands, "I want to talk to you in private."

Katie purses her lips, obeying him by closing the door. She stands at the closed door in silence, staring at the small library on one wall. She remembers Lane's old office when he had books that stretched all around his office walls.

If I had built this place, I would have had the grand library here and just a bookcase in the warehouse. Katie thinks, a brow narrowing. Such a waste.

"Sit down." Lane commands in a casual way, sitting himself down in his office chair. "That wasn't a question."

Kate heavily breaths in and out of her nose. She makes her way over to the chair resting against the wall. Her eyes drop to the floor, not wanting to look up into Lane's eyes.
