As Katie gets closer to the front, she hears the sound of cheering and dogs barking aggressively. She speeds up her pace as she hurries to the front of the mansion. When she gets to the front, the blonde freezes at the sight before her. The two dogs are aggressively fighting each other. Luka, Marco, Ryder, Phoenix, and Jett all stand on the porch cheering them on. Katie watches the scene in horror.

"Oh, my God!" Katie cries out in horror, tears falling down her cheeks. "Stop it! Stop cheering them on! They'll get hurt! And they'll get mean!"

The dogs roll around, biting at each other's throats. Charlie tried to escape but Sugar bites his ear, drawing blood. The male German Shepard howls loudly at the pain. Suddenly, the two dogs take off into the woods. The men all laugh at the dogs behavior.

"It's not funny!" Katie shouts at them angrily, partially silencing them. "They could get mean and bite one of us because they think it's okay! Because you laugh at it!"

"Listen here, Girly Girl, buyers would pay big money to have two dogs for a ring." Ryder takes one last puff of his cigarette before throwing it on the porch, his foot smashing the remains. "If I was Bossman, I would sell those dogs for more than they're worth."

"Sell them? To who?" The blonde arches her brow in confusion.

"Dog fighters. Who else?" Luka answers.

Shock fills Katie, her green eyes going wide. "No! They're mine!"

The screen door to the front porch opens. Lane steps out with knitted brows of anger. He looks between the men, who have went silent.

"What the hell is going on here? What's with all the yelling and shouting?" Lane looks between them in annoyance for answers.

"They're trying to get the dogs to fight." The blonde answers him honestly, glaring at Ryder and Marco. "They think it's funny."

Lane follows his lover's glare to the two men farthest away from him. He slowly nods. Katie gives the crime lord a hopeful look.

"I'm trying to feed the dogs so I can give them a bath and let them in the house." The blonde explains her situation.

"So does that mean you got tired of chasing those dogs senselessly around the house?" Lane says serious before cracking a small smile.

The men all crack up, laughing. Katie's cheeks turn bright red with embarrassment. Lane sees the hurt and anger mixing together in her eyes.

"Go get the bowls." The blue eyed man nods to her, "Fleas! Ticks!"

Katie rolls her eyes at him. "They're not going to answer to that-"

Suddenly, loud barking comes from behind the blonde. She turns to see the dogs rushing to the front porch. Sugar and Charlie stop at he steps, whining at Lane's feet. He glares down at them in annoyance.

"Disgusting." Lane snarls his nose at the dried blood on their fur. "We do a test run and keep one in the house overnight to see how they will react. You two, clean the mutts after they eat. Let Katie decide which one."
