"I was safe the entire time, wasn't I?" Katie slowly asks, "I'm not trying to be cocky or anything, I'm just asking."
Lane rolls his eyes as if it should already be obvious, looking back out onto the damp woods in annoyance. "What do you...

The smell of cooked bacon, sausage, and pancakes fill the mansion. The majority of the house had slept in until 10:30 a.m., giving Marco enough time to cook a large breakfast for everyone. He had caught Cassie going to the bathroom and forced her to assist him in cooking, setting the table, waking everyone up, and making sure the two dogs wouldn't get into the dining room or the kitchen. Each task had the tall redhead running around the mansion for most of the time, gaining a great appetite.
Katie and Lane walk down the stairs with Rebel and Max a few steps ahead of them. The two girls exchange chit-chat with the blonde listening in behind them.
"I can't believe it snowed." Rebel says in shock, "Especially that much! It rarely ever snows that much."
"It's only because there's sixteen people living in this damn house." Max says grumpily, looking over her shoulder at her boss. "I've got a list of people you can take out when you're mad, Boss. It would make my day."
Lane doesn't even respond with a smile or words. Just ignores her. Katie takes his large hands in her small ones, smiling softly.
"What happened your room late last night?" Rebel asks Max with curiosity, "I heard something hit the your wall from my room. It woke me and Cassie up."
"Oh, you're sleeping with Red now? Huh." Max quickens her pace, leaving Rebel alone with the two lovers.
The mixed girl turns and gives Katie a confused look. "Well, that was weird."
"Are you and Cassie... together?" Katie says with a bright smile.
"No! I can barely stand her cold feet at night, much less her consistent whining." Rebel rolls how dark eyes, "But I heard something going on in her room last night. You wanna check it out after breakfast?"
"No." Lane firmly answers, squeezing Katie's hand. "Whatever is going on with Max is her business. Leave her alone. Do you two hear me?"
The two girls look at the crime lord in shock, but slowly nods their head in unison. Lane then nods his own head, looking towards his office doors.
"There's too many people in one house." Lane adds as they continue to walk down the stairwell, "We need to respect each others boundaries and try to avoid conflict."
"Beautiful speech." Katie says with a straight face, serious, before breaking into giggles. "Really motivating!"
