• Katie Fairfield & Lane West outfits above & Lane getting aggravated at Katie below •
After quickly finishing her breakfast, Katie slowly makes her way to the staircase across from Lane's study. Lane decided to have two cups of coffee instead of just one, delaying their upcoming conversation. The blonde sits down on the stairwell, her face in her hands. Katie stares at the door of the study, wondering how she will be able to tell Lane about her sad dream.Suddenly, Rebel appears. She smiles down at the blonde with a suspicious grin.
"You look happy." The mixed girl sits down next to her friend on the stairwell.
"I'm not." The blonde says grumpily.
"I know, that was sarcasm." Rebel nods, nudging the blonde with her shoulder, "Wanna talk about it?"
"Not really." Katie bites her lower lip, shaking her head as she looks down in her lap. "I miss the cabin. I wish we could go back."
Rebel snorts. "Yeah, that would really be smart."
"Yeah, I know." Katie rolls her eyes, "We can't go back because then we could get ambushed or blow our cover -"
"That cabin is nothing but ash, Angel." The mixed girl arches a brow, seeing Katie's shocked expression. "Don't you know?"
"Know what? When did the cabin burn down?" The blonde says in bewilderment.
"After we got you back from that awful place, Boss had Lebedev's men to lure both McGinness and Barclay's men into a trap..." Rebel sees the confused look on Katie's face, "Boss didn't know who helped kidnap you so he got all of the men from McGinness and Barclay's gangs and they were burned alive."
Katie's mouth drops, her eyes widen even more. "Lane...had those men killed?"
"Boss didn't want anyone snitching to the Feds or anything so he had them killed." The mixed girl shrugs, "And he didn't want the Feds to find any traces of us or McGinness and Barclay."
Katie puts her hand over her mouth, tears swelling in her eyes. It makes sense to the blonde but guilt weighs in her. If she hadn't of ran away like Lane had instructed her to, if she had fought harder, they wouldn't be where they were now. She wipes her teary eyes.
"That's awful." Katie's voice is below a whisper.
"Yeah, and from what Phoenix and Frankie had said, Boss also blew up that prison you were in with Barclay in it."
Rebel adds, seeing the frightfulness in her friend's eyes. "What?"
