Breakfast was awkward for Katie. The rest of the house had heard the act of sexual passion between their boss and his beloved. The blonde felt Lola's cold eyes staring at her with resentment. Most of the gang had accepted Margo's death, but Lola, who had been Margo's only friend, was still grieving.

After breakfast, Lane had called Jett and Axel into his office for a meeting. No one else was allowed inside. Katie had sat with Cassie in the living room of the house that is conjoined with a library. The blonde watched the office door that is directly across from the living room/library. Cassie read through a book, reading quietly.

Muffled shouts echo through the wooden door. But it doesn't belong to Lane. Katie bites her lip, wondering what the meeting is about. Usually, when Lane has a meeting with any of his gang members, it is because he needs to put someone in their place.

"That bl-blue haired girl was r-really upset..." Cassie whispers to Katie softly as she reads, putting her finger on the word she stops at on the page "sh-she t-told us th-that that girl that killed herself w-was in l-love with your boy-boyfriend."

The blonde slowly nods, her ponytail bouncing. "Margo lusted Lane and when he rejected her, she lost it."

The redhead smirks. "Kind of st-stupid to kill y-yourself over a boy. Es-Especially one that d-doesn't want you b-b-back."

Feeling her emotions beginning to surface, the blonde looks to her redheaded friend with a small smile. She tries to change the subject.

"You know, I used to stutter too." Katie nods to her friend, who listens with a kind smile. "What helped me was reading poems out loud to my grandparents."

"Oh?" Cassie arches a brow, "H-How long d-did it take you t-to overcome it?"

"About a year." The blonde nods, looking back to the office door across the hall. "I'll try to help you."

                 Cassie smiles. "Thank you."

Suddenly, the office doors burst open. The two friends faces turn slightly white at the boom like sound, their eyes wide. Jett storms out of the room with fire in his eyes.

Katie immediately locks eyes on Lane, who sits back in his leather hair at his desk. His face is stoney, his blue eyes brooding and bitter cold. They melt slightly as they hold on the blonde, a small smirk on his face. He winks at her assuringly, failing to fight a small smile. Katie smiles at him softly, happy to see the human behind his solid, stone like front.

Axel, with cheeks bright pink with embarrassment, he walks over to the door and closes it. Cassie turns to Katie, who looks down in her lap.

"Wha-What's that guy's name?" The redhead asks her friend, "With all the tattoos?"

"Axel?" The blonde smiles curiously, her green eyes filled with wonder. "Why?"

Cassie shrugs, her eyes going back to her page. "No reason..."

"Do you think he looks cute or something?" Katie blushes, grinning happily.

"H-His tat-tattoos make him k-kind of ug-ugly." Cassie gives the blonde an annoyed but light look, "He's just really nice."

"He is, isn't he?" Katie smiles teasingly at her friend, "Lola and Frankie are a couple...Maybe you and Axel could—"
