The potions I had been given were starting to kick in, when I woke up the next morning I felt better, still very sore. But I knew I could stand up. I groaned quietly pushing myself up, I began walking into the kitchen but stopped as I caught my reflection in the mirror. I looked horrid, my face was cut and bruised, and I could barely recognize myself. "There she is." Arthur nodded, pulling out a chair. Molly hugged me tightly, "you're alright now dear." I nodded sitting down with them. No other kids were awake now, and right after Remus and Sirius walked in. "I must care for you a lot if I just spent an entire night on that rock of a couch." I rolled my eyes, as they sat down. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." He placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "As you should be." Remus nudged him, "oh shut up."
Soon after everyone else made their way down including Harry. "Alyssa, I'm so happy you're alright." Ginny smiled hugging me. I thanked her still staring at Harry. "I'm sorry we really shouldn't have let you take off alone." Hermione insisted. I shrugged, "what's done is done. I'm not the only one who was hurt." Arthur squeezed my hand, "but we're pulling through aren't we dear." I nodded, "I suppose we are."
When breakfast was done I washed my plate and then made my way upstairs quietly. "My heart stopped." I spun around to see Harry standing there. "What?" He came and stood beside me, "I thought you were dead." I nodded, "that must have been scary." He sighed, "well clearly not as scary as being attacked...." I stopped him, "stop talking." He scoffed, "are you angry with me?" I shook my head, "no.. not with you exactly." He grabbed my hand, "tell me who then." I smiled to myself, "this is going to make me sound crazy. But I saw Cedric." His eyes narrowed. "And then I saw your parents, which is the strangest part." Harry opened his mouth confused. "They kept telling me to come back. I could've stayed. But they were pushing." Harry hugged me, "you really saw them?" I nodded hugging him back, "they said you needed me. And right now I really think I need you." He smiled, "I've always been here. And I'm not going anywhere. You're my best friend." I nodded, "thank you Harry, really."
Sirius walked in, "should you really be up?" I rolled my eyes, about to talk back. "Watch the attitude you just got here." He walked over wrapping his arm around me. I let myself get pulled in, "I didn't even say anything yet." He laughed, "the yet part is what gets you." Harry smiled, "he's not wrong." Sirius hit Harry, "once all this is over we can all be a proper family." I pulled away, "that better be over soon, I can't lose anyone else." They both nodded, "you won't, you should go talk to Remus. He's missed you too."
I sighed, and made my way to Remus' room. "Hello." I knocked, and opened the door slowly. "Alyssa." He smiled setting down the shirt he was folding. "Heard you missed me. I don't blame you." He scoffed hugging me tightly. "Fred came and talked to me last night. You scared both the twins the other day. And you really scared me." I sat down on the couch in their room resting my head on his shoulder. "What did he say?" Remus sighed, "I think you know what they told me." I nodded, "I do. I was just in a lot of pain." He stood up, "why don't we read? It always helps me." I smiled laying down on the bed beside him. He opened his book, after giving me a short summary of what has already happened and then began reading.
Shortly after Sirius pushed open the door. "Well as much as I didn't miss this, I did miss this." I laughed making room for him. "Can I tell you something funny." They both nodded, "at school I feel so alone, like I need to grow up and just accept everything that has happened, not only with Cedric, but what my own father did. How I feel now is a painful reminder of that." Sirius sighed squeezing my hand, and I continued. "But when I'm here I feel like I'm a little kid again, like I get a second chance at a childhood, I feel so loved and so protected, and I never want to let that feeling go. I really don't want to go anywhere."
I felt myself being pulled in again, "see what I mean, I haven't been hugged this much since the summer." This made them laugh, and I layed back closing my eyes. "I almost died. And I saw Cedric. That's why I was how I was when Fred and George saw me. It all sounds crazy I know."
"We're not going anywhere, no matter how crazy anything gets, here for life. This is my oath, I'm going to stick it out to the end." Sirius reassured me. I nodded closing my eyes, "you'll be here forever?" I looked at Sirius as he nodded, "I'm not going anywhere kid."
