Chapter 36

Me and Hermione made our way down the steps Cedric stood at the bottom waiting for me, as did Krum. I smiled as Cedric's jaw hung open, "Alyssa you look gorgeous." He held my hand leaning down to kiss me. We stood beside each other smiling as a Rita came and took our photos. McGonagall rushed towards us, "champions get in line." I followed Cedric, to the door, where Harry, Pavil, Hermione and Krum were standing. "Have you gotten any better at dancing?" I asked Harry. He rolled his eyes, "no not really." Music began playing and Cedric squeezed my hand leading us down the walkway. When we got to the centre he placed his hand around my waist and we began dancing. "You're a natural." I whispered impressed with his moves. He shrugged, "you're much better than I am."

Soon other couples joined us on the floor, some of Cedric's friends joined us with their dates. One girl approached me, "hey, I'm friends with Cedric, I just wanted to say you look stunning." I smiled, "you look beautiful as well." Cedric threw his arm around my shoulder, "care to accompany me for a drink fair lady?" I laughed, "well obviously kind sir." On the way I bumped into Harry and Ron. I grabbed their arms pulling them with us. "We're going to the photo booth." Me and Harry went first, I then pulled Ron in with us, the pictures were hilarious. Next I got Cedric to fit in as well. The four of us made faces at the camera putting on the funny props. "Well these turned out lovely." I laughed holding them up. We all exited and Cedric pulled me over to the drinks. "Pumpkin juice?" I nodded taking a big sip. "What do you think? Fun dance?" I smiled looking around, "it's amazing. Ready to keep going?" He sighed as I forced him back onto the floor with me. We were back beside Hermione and Krum, they now had the rock band playing and we were having a blast.

I made Cedric party until almost two in the morning, Fred and George joined us, offering us some fire whiskey. "Reckon we should?" Cedric asked. I nodded, "what could go wrong?" The four of us snuck off to the side and began taking back shots. "Where we off to now?" I asked Ced. He smiled I've got a place? If you're ready to leave the dance?" I put down my cup agreeing. "Alright meet me outside your common room, bring extra clothes." I nodded quickly making me way to my dorm. I grabbed a hoodie and a pair of shorts slipping them on as I took off my dress.

As promised Cedric met me, he was holding the golden egg. Eventually we wound up at the prefects bathroom, he pushed the door open quickly locking it behind him. It was a huge bathroom, there was a bath that seemed to be the size of a large swimming pool. "Hop in." I pulled off my sweater and shorts hoping in. "Cute suit." I rolled my eyes, "you didn't tell me to bring a bathing suit, what'd you expect I was going to wear my nicest set of garments." He laughed jumping in beside. "Go under in 3,2,1." I took a deep breath pushing myself under the water. He opened the egg and I listened as it sang. The minute the song was over I pulled myself back up. "Ced the black lake." He nodded, "that's where the task is." We sat on the stairs still covered by the water up to our shoulders. "Do you know how to breathe underwater?" He laughed, "I'll find a way." I rested my head against his shoulder, "you need to tell Harry, he told you about the dragons." Cedric nodded, "I will Lyss." He pulled me closer to him and I leaned forward connecting our lips. Eventually we got tired and I stepped out of the water. I threw my clothes back on sitting down on one of the couches. Ced came and sat down beside me making me rest my head against his chest. "Goodnight beautiful." I gave him one last kiss, "night handsome."
