Chapter 22

When I finally thought I looked decent I carefully made my way out into the hallway. This house looked huge. There were several flights of stairs, it looked like I was on the second level. I was about to walk down the stairs when a green wallpapered room caught my attention. It looked like there was a giant tree branched out with several names written across it. I hesitantly walked in, I could see blacked out names. I traced my finger along to my mothers name which then connected with my father. From there I saw Draco's name, and a giant burnt hole where my name should've been. I kept my hand pressed against it sadly. "Disgrace, there's an unworthy disgusting blood traitor in my presence." I whipped around staring at a portrait of a very angry looking woman. "Who are you?" She cackled loudly, "you don't get to speak with me." I turned back around glaring at where my name should've been, nothing that's happened is fair. "They're gonna kill you, you filthy little blood traitor." I bit my lip not turning to face the women. "That's original." I scoffed. "Why did you have kids if you can't love them regardless of who they are?" She laughed again, "love, my children? You? None of you are worthy of love. You're going to get everything you deserve little girl." A hand slammed against the wall making me jump. "Enough." Sirius shouted. I saw the two of them standing in the doorway. "Come on Alyssa, this isn't a room you should be in." I looked at my spot on the wall one last time.

"That tree means nothing, I found a better family, and you did too. My mother was an awful women." I nodded following him into the kitchen. "Sorry, I meant to come downstairs, that room just caught my attention." Sirius smiled, "you don't need to apologize." Remus smiled, "it's good to see you're walking." I nodded moving my arms, "I feel a bit better, I just can't lay in bed another day." Sirius pointed to the living room, "why don't you lay down on the couch instead." I smiled, looking around, "what is this place?" Sirius opened his arms, "this is my old home." I looked around, "it's nice." Remus led me to the couch, "yes I'm sure you're very familiar with nice houses with not so nice owners." I winced as I sat down. "You don't look too much better." I bit my lip to keep from crying out as I shifted positions. "She's not." Remus said sitting down across from me. Sirius sat down at the end of the couch sighing, "so what shall we do today?" I smiled looking at Remus who shrugged. "How about a muggle movie day?" I narrowed my eyes, "I've never seen one." Sirius smiled, "sit back and enjoy."

At some point I fell asleep, and woke up to now see if was darker out. "Morning sleepy." Remus said. I sat up slowly, "how was the movie?" Sirius hit my leg lightly, "would've been better if someone wasn't sleeping so loud." I smiled, "sorry." He sighed standing up, "you should eat." I shook my head, "no thank you I'm not hungry." Remus gave me a stern look, "you haven't ate anything today, to the kitchen now." Me and Sirius looked at each other smiling, "yes sir." I stood up carefully holding onto the couch, and made my way to the kitchen sitting down at the table. "What would you like?" Remus asked. I shrugged, "I'm okay with anything." Sirius sat down across from me setting a glass of water in front of me. "Thank you." He simply nodded. With a flick of his wand a bowl of pasta came to all three of us. I picked up my fork taking small bites. "You're looking pale Alyssa." Remus said, causing Sirius to now look at me concerned. "I said I wasn't hungry, it's just making me feel sick." Sirius pulled my plate away, "why don't you go back upstairs, I'll bring up some tea." When I got to my room I rushed over to the bathroom immediately getting sick. My stomach was cramping severely from the pain of getting sick. When I was done I slumped against the wall taking deep breaths. My head started to pound I was getting dizzy. "Sirius," I called as loud as I could though I doubt anyone could hear. "Remus."

About ten minutes later I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "Alyssa?" I tried to stand up but I couldn't focus on the room around me. Sirius sat in front of me waving his hand. "Remus." I heard him shout. "What happened?" I could hear them arguing trying to shake me awake.
