I waited impatiently stressing myself out, completely unsure of what to expect. I jumped back as the two of them reappeared hours later, and listened as Dumbledore instructed Harry to go find Snape, but we heard a door open, and Dumbledore shook his head. "Harry, Alyssa hide yourself below. Don't speak or be seen my anyone. Trust me. Alyssa he didn't want this. Trust me."
Harry grabbed my hand dragging me down the stairs, I heard another door slam open, and Harry clamped his hand over my mouth as Draco entered. "Good evening Draco." Dumbledore welcomed him and Harry and I moved so we could get a better view. "Draco you are no assassin." My brother snapped, "how do you know what I am. I've done things that would shock you." I closed my eyes, "no Draco." I whispered and Harry held me close to him.
Dumbledore sighed, "like cursing Kaite bell hoping she'd bear a cursed necklace to me. Forgive me but I can't help but notice that these attempts are so weak your heart can't truly be in them." My brother scoffed, "I was chosen." He ripped up his sleeve revealing the dark mark, and my heart stopped beating. I ignored everything Dumbledore said running back up the stairs, "Draco what the hell are you doing. Stop." I pleaded. "ALYSSA GET AWAY NOW." Dumbledore ordered. Draco quickly disarmed him scoffing at me, "what do you know, this is all your fault." I shook my head, "no Draco I can help you. Please let me." I heard a door open and Dumbledore shook his head, "you're not alone, there are others. How?" Dumbledore asked. Draco lowered his wand, "the vanishing cabinet, it had a sister I used it." Dumbledore nodded, "brilliant, Draco, years ago I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices please let me help you, let your sister help you." Draco shook his head, "you can't help me I don't have a choice. I have to kill you, or he's gonna kill me."
I closed my eyes, feeling faint, this wasn't right Draco didn't deserve this, why is this up to him, he's my brother, he can't die, but we can't lose Dumbledore not now. "Draco, Dumbledore can protect you." He glared at me, "this was supposed to be you. YOU DID THIS TO ME." I stepped back, biting my lip, too scared to move as Bellatrix and three other death eaters ran quickly up the stairs.
"Well done Draco, I'm afraid we're on a tight schedule, sorry Albus." She hissed. "Do it." I stepped forward, "no Draco you don't have to." She shook her head at me, "shut up you filthy little blood traitor, go on Draco. NOW." I pushed his arm down, "this is your decision not hers." My aunt stepped forward and grabbed my arm laughing at the scar my father gave me a few years ago. "Look at your arm sweetheart, your a traitor, Draco isn't like you. Do it Draco."
I heard another set of footsteps come up the stairs, "no." Snape whispered. I was relieved, pulling Draco beside me letting him turn away from them. "Avada Kedavra." It all happened so fast, Snape pulled out his wand and then Dumbledore was falling the next second. "NO." I screamed lunging forward trying to catch him, I was falling off the edge myself until I was ripped back. I turned around coming face to face with Snape. "Get out of here. She'll kill you, you stupid child." I shoved him back hard making a break for it, while Bellatrix was busy celebrating his death. I collapsed down the stairs letting Harry pull us behind a wall. I sobbed into his shoulder and he cried quietly into mine. "He knew this was going to happen Harry. He knew and he didn't tell us." Harry put his hand over my mouth making sure none of them heard us. "Alyssa. I can't do this."
I felt disgusted knowing that I was there and I let them do this. I started sprinting after them, Harry following closely behind. "DRACO. I TRUSTED YOU, YOU'RE MY BROTHER." He turned around looking sorry, and Harry ran towards Snape. My brother took off, leaving Snape and Bellatrix. "Fight back you coward fight back." Bellatrix casted a curse knocking Harry down, which made me lose control I casted every dangerous curse I knew at her until she took off vanishing into thin air, I was so angry I didn't stop until Snape disarmed me making me stare at him in complete hatred. "Get away from Harry." I threatened. He spun around starting to follow the others when Harry got up still desperate to hurt him. When Snape rebounded it, I watched Harry collapse for the third time today. Snape stormed back over to us, "you dare use my own spells against me potter? Yes I'm the half blood prince." I jumped forward hitting Snape as hard as I could, and I didn't stop until I was thrown down hard onto the ground. "Save your strength Malfoy, they're coming after you next." I turned around smearing the blood off my face, "this wasn't my fault. You tell Draco that, you're the traitor here not me. You're pathetic." He pushed his wand into my neck, "I have the perfect opportunity Alyssa, I could take you to him right now. You'd pay the price for your fathers mistakes." I glared at him, "get the hell away from me." Snape looked down at Harry once more, then turned around swiftly walking away.
I lifted Harry's arm around my shoulder and together we made our way to where Dumbledore lay. Students were crowding all around staring at him. "Move." I ordered several students still helping Harry get to him. "Harry, Dumbledores wrong. Draco is not good, no one in my family is." Harry leaned forward pushing his head into my shoulder and I held him tightly setting my forehead gently on top of his. I closed my eyes letting tears stream steadily down my face, wiping Harry's eyes for him. "We're gonna be alright." I whispered. He squeezed my hand, "I know Lyss, we always are."
