I looked around at the people who had sacrificed their life for Hogwarts, the battle. Everyone was reconnecting they were looking down at their loved ones. I had everyone I needed, but I didn't feel better, part of me is starting to think I won't ever, because I was never okay to start with.
I gave Cedric a small smile, "I'm going to take a minute Ced." He gently kissed my forehead, "I'm here for you, the minute you need anything Lyss."
I isolated myself pushing my fingers up against the glass. This time I wanted to look down on my family, take a deeper look. As I expected my father seemed to be alright. But then I saw my mother locked away in the guest bedroom. She had her back pressed against the wall, gently rocking herself, crying softly. "Mum." I whispered desperate to reassure her. "I love you, this wasn't your fault." It broke me to see her like this. I sank down, staring at her. My father tried to open the door, and when he finally got it open my mother stood up throwing a glass photograph at him. "GET OUT." My father tried to comfort her, "Narcissa I'm sorry. Alyssa...." she shoved him back, "don't you dare speak her name." He nodded, "I didn't kill her." Mum scoffed, "You were ready to hand her over to them, you're pathetic." He sighed turning around, "I loved her too, she was my daughter." I watched as she stepped forward glaring at him, "you didn't love her, you were terrible to her. SHE IS NOT YOUR DAUGHTER. Sirius, and Remus have the right to call themselves her father. You don't. YOU DISGUST ME." She pushed him out slamming the door in his face.
"Mum, mummy it's okay, I'm here. I'm alright. Please don't cry." I heard someone walk in behind me. "She can't stop. No matter how hard you try and talk to her, she won't be able to hear you." Sirius knelt down beside me. "I tried to talk to you as well. The first thing I saw when I looked back was you and Harry laying on the ground. I heard your screams. That tore me apart Lyss. I could barely focus on James, my best friend who stood directly in front of me." I bit my lip and let more tears fall. "You were terrified, and in so much pain. I saw Voldemort standing directly over top of you and Harry." James sat down on the other side of me, "and Sirius broke down. I was banging my hand on the glass, with Sirius trying to get to you both. After everything you went through, I knew that was your breaking point. I saw it all, you growing up, with your father." I brushed away a tear.
"But you covered Harry's eyes, you didn't care about yourself Alyssa. That's what made me stop, what made us both stop. You were screaming, and terrified but you still wanted to protect Harry that night." I shook my head, "I thought we were going to die. After all those years fighting, Voldemort shouldn't be the last thing Harry saw." Sirius nodded, "you are too kind, too selfless, you put every single person before your self. Even Draco, you went back for him. Why Alyssa?" I sighed, "he's my brother, I didn't want anyone else to die."
James nodded, "you were Harry's best friend, and I can't thank you enough." Sirius smiled. "You were my bestfriend too." I turned around as Remus nodded sitting down with us, "you changed my life simple as that kid." I nodded, "Harry lost everything too, and I can't be there for him." James shook his head, "you two are always alright, he will find a way, just like you did, like you need to do here."
I gave them a small smile, "I appreciate everything you did for me." Sirius nudged me, "you deserved more, but you amazed me. You're strong Alyssa, and I don't think anyone could tell you different." I thought about everything, "thank you." The three of them looked down at Hogwarts, and I stepped back letting them relive their childhood.
"They're like boys aren't they?" Lily asked standing beside me. I smiled, "I can't wait to do that with all of my friends." She nodded, "you were good to Harry, and Cedric I can't even explain how much he loved you." I laughed, "he was definitely my one, there was no one else I wanted to be with."
I turned around and saw Dumbledore and Snape staring at me. I quickly excused myself making my way over to them. "Was I not supposed to snap the wand?" Snape shook his head, "you did exactly what you should've." Dumbledore nodded, "you did good. You were a smart and brave student, I'm glad I got the pleasure to know you." I took this as a win and walked back to Cedric resting my head on his shoulder. "Hello beautiful ." I sighed. "Hey handsome."
We sat down together, I leaned against his side resting the back of my head on his chest. "Company?" Sirius asked. Behind him I saw James, Lily, Remus, Tonks, Fred, and Dumbledore. Cedric gave me a small smile, "you're not alone anymore Lyss."
