Emma's POV

"Come on Shadow." I say as I hold open the car door. "Time to go inside."

Shadow yips and gets out of the car then I grab my phone, wallet, keys, the three bags of food, and my Sprite before we head inside.

"Wipe your paws girl." I say as I stomp the snow off my Timberlands in the mud room.

Jessie said it could snow while we're here so I brought a couple pairs of my Timberlands.

Shadow wipes her paws off on one of the towels then the two of us head to the kitchen.

After I set the bag down I grab two of the breakfast burritos, my sprite, and the the hash browns I got for Shadow then the two of us head to the kitchen table, sit down, and eat.

"Here you go." I say then I set Shadow's hash browns into her food bowl as everyone sits at the table.

Shadow smiles at me then she eats her food while I do the same.

The whole time we're eating Jessie gives me the cold shoulder for some reason.

"I'm gonna go shower." Jessie says then she gets up and walks away.

"She okay?" Jessie's Mom asks as I finish eating.

"I don't know." I say. "Can you watch the twins?"

"Of course." Jessie's Mom says.

"Shadow stay with the kids." I say.

Shadow nods so I throw my trash away then I head to Jessie and I's room.

Once in the room I close the door then I take off my clothes, head to the bathroom, and get into the shower.

"Well let's go." I say then the twins lead everyone to the living room.

Once in the living room my wife and I sit on a couch and cuddle under a blanket while we watch the kids open their presents.

"Yeah Sharky?" Jessie whispers.

"Are we coming here for Christmas next year?" I ask.

"Do you want to?" My wife asks and I nod with a smile.

"Makes me feel like I have a family."

"Because you do have a family." Jessie says then she kisses my jaw. "And you always will."
