Emma's POV
"You ready to play your girlfriend today?" Ali asks as we ride to the Stade Jean Bouin.
"Yeah." I say as I look at the Canadian line up.

After I look at the Canadian line-up I scroll up on instagram to our line-up.

"We're here Bubba." Christen says from Behind me.
"Come on Shadow." I say and grab my Service dogs leash as the bus stops.
After the bus stops everyone grabs their bags then we get off the bus and head to the locker room.

When I get to my locker I take my AirPods out, take out my nose ring, take off my necklaces and my rings, then I put my jewelry and AirPods in my bag.
Once I'm jewelry free I put on my short sleeve baby blue undershirt, my warm up top, then I put on my game shorts. I then sit down in my locker, put my long long curly brown hair up in a ponytail, put on my socks and put on my black and gold boots.
After my boots are on I tape my wrists, hands, and fingers then I put on my black and white keeper gloves before I head onto the field with the other keepers.
When I get on the pitch I run through my warm ups with the keepers for a while then head back to the locker room.
Once in the locker room I change out of the training top and change into my baby blue keeper jersey while the coaches do their last minute talks.
After the last minute talks are over we are told to head to the tunnel so I grab my towel and water bottle then Shadow and I head to the front of the line in the tunnel and stand behind Christen.
Minutes later we are told to head out onto the field for the prematch stuff so I follow Christen out.
Once on the field we stand in a line and stand in silence for the Canadian Anthem
When our anthem starts, myself, Christen, Becky, Morgan, and a few more ladies all take a knee.
After our anthem plays we shake hands with the refs, and the Canadian team then head to our bench and do our team huddle.
After our team huddle I lead Shadow to the sideline.
"Stay here Shadow." I say then Shadow barks and licks my face.
I smile at my Service dog and pet her head then I grab my towel and my water bottle and head to my goal.
Once I'm at my goal I hang my towel on the net, put my water bottle outside the net, then I stand in my goal as Alex kicks off the game.
The first 20 minutes of the game are a bit boring since I only have routine saves to make.
In the 23rd minute, as the defenders are passing the ball around the back I notice a space opening up ahead of Christen.
"CRYSTAL BACK." I shout as Crystal receives the ball from Tierna.
Once Crystal gets the ball she passes back to me.
When the ball gets to me I slam the outside of my foot into it and send it upfield
After the ball leaves my foot I watch as it bends around everyone and lands the space in front of Christen just like I planned.
After the ball lands I watch Christen run onto the ball, beat a few defenders with her speed, then she crosses the ball into the box where her wives are waiting.
Christen's cross lands right at Alex's feet then the Berkley alumni buries the ball in the back of the net, putting us 1-0 up.
"YEAH EMMA." Crystal shouts then she jumps on me and hugs me.
Crystal and the rest of the defense hug me then I head back to my goal.
The rest of the first half is a bit boring since the ball only ever gets to me for routine saves.
During halftime I relax in my locker while listening to Vlatko until we head back onto the field.
A minute after we get onto the field the ref blows her whistle and the Canadian's kick off.
The Canadian players play keep away from us in their own half for 40 minutes so my job is very boring.
In the 89th minute Jessie surprises everyone when she receives a pass then she turns and sprints towards goal.
Ali, who came on as a sub, sprints back and gets in front of the Canadian and runs with her as she approaches my goal. Jessie takes a stupid shot and I move to catch it, but it clips Ali's leg on the way by which changes the trajectory of the ball.
"Fuck." I say.
I quickly change direction and race to get to the ball.
As the ball is about to cross the line I get my hands to it and catch it then bring it into my body and stay on the ground.
"You're good." I hear Ali say then she pats my back.
"It didn't go in right?" I ask after rolling over.
"No you saved it."
"Sick." I say and wipe the sweat from my face.
Ali jogs away in to wide open space so I throw her the ball then she takes it up field.
A couple minutes later the ref blows her whistle signaling we've won the game and more importantly we're now in first place in the tournament.
The outfield players celebrate while I get my towel and drink the rest of my Powerade then I walk towards the mass of players.
"Well that game wasn't exciting." I say as I hug my girlfriend.
"Seriously." Jessie says then she looks up at me. "Are you coming back for the France v Great Britain game."
France v Great Britain starts an hour after our game ends.
"What are you gonna do?"
"I was thinking we could order food to the room and watch it there."
"It's a date." I say and smile at my girl.
"Cool." Jessie says then she pulls me down to her height and kisses me. "I love you."
"I love you too." I say.
"I'll see you back at the room." Jessie says.
"See you soon."
