Y/N RIGHT AFTER MIN-JUN WOKE UP

"Papa!" You ran quickly and felt tears appearing when you saw him open his arms, waiting.

As soon as the two of you were in each other's arms, you had your chin resting on his shoulder. Your arms wrapped around him tightly, not wanting to let go as he caressed your hair.

"What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here yet. It's too early for you to be here." He mumbled, backing away from the hug as he held your shoulders, eyes wide and questioning.

"I got into an accident..." You replied quietly, a lump still in your throat as you witnessed your dad who you haven't seen in years standing in front of you.

The man who was there for you when you had cried coming from school after your several soul marks had appeared because other students called your soul selfish for having more than one fated partner in your life. The one who nearly sued the school board for neglecting to protect you, his daughter when kids had started to try and 'erase' your six other marks so that you were 'normal' like the others; even when he was sick and his soul was slowly dying because of the broken bond, he went through such lengths to keep you happy.

Your dad was a strong man. Usually, people who had been on the other end of having their bond broken, would die Ines than a year. But your dad lived far longer than the doctors had said he would, wanting to stay with his two precious children as much as his body and soul let him.

So he was there for Min-jun's high school graduation, and was there for your change of elementary to junior high. He was there when you had first gotten your period, and living in a house with only two males, they had been panicking. He was there when Min-jun had introduced Sun-hee to the family after meeting her in one of his university classes. And even though your dad had been literally broken after his left him, he smiled one of his brightest smiles when he saw how happy Sun-hee was already making his son.

But the longer he kept living, the more painful it was to bear. For both Min-jun and yourself, and for your dad.

Seeing him in pain everyday made the two of your hearts tear. The way sweat would cling onto him much easier, his breathing had been getting more unstable, he no longer had strength in his legs and was confined to a bed for the remaining weeks he had left, and his vision had been failing him too.

Min-jun and you both felt guilty for being the reason that your dad was enduring all this pain, just so he could spend more time to the actual family that never abandoned him. But you knew whose fault it really was.

It was her. And she was the reason why your dad was like this in the first place.

FLASHBACK

"Papa..." You choked back on the sobs trying to erupt from your chest as you held one of his frail hands in both of your hands.

You were kneeling by his bed, Min-jun right beside you as he also tried not to cry.

The two of you promised each other that you wouldn't cry. Because you both didn't want the last thing he would see when he closes his eyes one final time, the two of his children sad.

"We'll be okay." Min-jun said in a soft whisper, not allowing his voice to go any higher, knowing that it would crack the moment he did. "So you can leave in peace papa."

"We're so proud of you. Thank you for choosing to live longer for the sole purpose of loving us." You covered your mouth as you wiped the stray tears that had managed to slip. You inwardly cursed to yourself, failing to keep your promise.
