A Rocky Valentine's Day

"Andy!" Someone shouted, banging on the Bogard home's front door. "Open up!"
"It's your girlfriend," Terry said with a chuckle, watching Rock make breakfast. "Go answer her, or she'll 'Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi!' down the door!"
"And I don't wanna go choose another door again," Rock said while making waffles. "Go open the door!"
Andy sighed and went to answer her. As soon as he opened the door, Mai leapt into his arms.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Andy!" Mai greeted cheerfully. "Put me down, I need to give you something!"
Andy did and Mai whipped out a red and white box of chocolates with butterfly fans on it.
"Kacho Sen chocolates!" Mai said cheerfully. "Do you like them?"
"Of course, Mai," Andy said with a smile.
There was a sudden laughter that erupted from the kitchen. Andy rolled his eyes.
"One second, Mai," Andy said, making his way back to the kitchen.
He entered the kitchen and saw Terry sitting down at the kitchen island with Rock still making waffles. Everything was just as he left.
"Sup, Andy?" Terry greeted with a grin. "I thought you wanted to go on a date with Mai?"
Andy rolled his eyes and went to his room to change. He came out, wearing a casual suit, and brought Mai out.
"This should be good," Terry said with a grin. "Anyway, you done? I'm hungry..."
Rock smirked and served him a plate of waffles. Terry's eyes lit up and he topped it off with maple syrup. It reminded him of a certain girl.
"Hey, speaking of Maple, what happened to her?" Terry asked, putting the maple syrup back onto the counter. "She's with Scott, right?"
"Yep," Rock said. "So much for having a crush on her..."
"Can't believe she feel for the guy who stole her purse," Terry said with a chuckle. "But then again, Scott's a good boy. It was just his situation that made him do that..."
Rock agreed and joined Terry with his own plate of waffles.

Terry was out with Mary and Rock was left alone. Usually, Joe would come over and mourn the fact that he has no girlfriend to him. But this year, it was different. Joe already has a girlfriend, and he was out with her.
Even Billy had a girlfriend this year. She was a sweet ravenette that decided to give Billy a second chance, despite his past as Geese's right-hand man. 
And Rock was bored, and left alone at home.
So he decided to take his Honda out for a ride.

Rock rode around South Town, and at last stopped at a cafe. He ordered some coffee and a sandwich. He wasn't really hungry, but liked the cozy atmosphere of the cafe.
'Why is Valentine's Day always so boring like this?' Rock thought with a sigh. 'Why do my friends always ditch me on this day?'
He then decided to go Pao Pao and hang out with Richard instead.
But he didn't realise that he would be the only one there that was single.
"So, where's your Valentine?" Richard asked, serving him a non-alcoholic cocktail.
"Nowhere to be seen," Rock said with a sigh. "Anyway, can I have a jambalaya? Without the sausages."
Richard shouted the order to the kitchen and continued taking orders.
Someone suddenly walked into the cafe, and looked around. She was looking for her friend.
She saw her blonde hair from a distance and cheerfully ran towards her.
But she was quickly dismayed to find that she had company.
It was Valentine's Day, after all. Her friend indirectly ditched her.
She sighed and started leaving the cafe with her marten, when suddenly, the little animal jumped out of her bag.
"Itokatsu!" Hotaru shouted, running after the blond marten.
But Itokatsu didn't stop. He continued running into the cafe, skilfully avoiding people.
It was a good thing too, or else Hotaru and Itokatsu would've been thrown out.
The marten ran straight towards someone, and started to climb up their leg.
It was Rock. He was confused at how Itokatsu would end up here.
Hotaru chased Itokatsu and saw that it was hiding behind Rock's coat.
"Itokatsu!" Hotaru called again.
It still baffled her how Itokatsu never liked strangers, but liked Rock.
"Hi Hotaru," Rock called, inviting her to join him. "What brings you here?"
"Well, I came here to look for Hinako," Hotaru said. "But... she ditched me..."
Rock looked and saw that she had a guy of her own sitting in front of her. 
"Well, same story, here too," Rock said with a sigh, handing the little marten back to its owner. "My friends ditched me for their dates too. Even Joe..."
"Now that's kinda sad," Hotaru said, taking Itokatsu back. "Anyway, what are you doing tonight?"
"Nothing much..." Rock said with a shrug. "How 'bout you?"
"Niisama's out in Japan with his girlfriend," Hotaru said with a sigh. "He'll only come late."
"I have a question," Rock said. "How does he return so fast? I don't think Dash and the gang brought their spaceship. How?"
"Ash's ancestor..." Hotaru said. "You know how he can travel through time portals, right?"
"Oh that guy..." Rock said with a chuckle, remembering how they watched so many events of the past live. "Oh well..."
The lighting suddenly changed, and the music became Earth Angel by Marvin Berry and The Starlighters.
And to their surprise, the couples started dancing. Including Richard and his wife.
Rock flushed as he realised that Hotaru and him were the only ones that were still sitting.
"Y-You wanna have this dance?" Rock finally asked. "You know, to not stick out like a sore thumb?"
Hotaru blushed and agreed to dance with him. Richard smirked as he danced with his wife.

Rock and Hotaru left the cafe and decided to have a stroll in Happy Park.
"So turns out we're each other's Valentine," Hotaru said with a chuckle. "Well, can't say I don't like this."
Rock chuckled. He suddenly spotted a shop that sold flowers.
"Be right back!" Rock said, leaving her for a moment.
Hotaru nodded and waited for him in the sidewalk. She looked around and saw something that interested her.
It was a sweet store that sold custom chocolates.

Rock ran back to where Hotaru was standing and was surprised to find her missing. He looked around, but did not find her. He sighed as he realised that she had left him. He looked at the bouquet of flowers in his hand, and decided to throw them away.
That was until Hotaru called him.
Rock tuned to her in surprise and saw her smiling at him, a beautiful box of chocolates in her hands.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Rock," Hotaru said with a smile, holding the chocolates out to him. "I didn't really get to wish you properly."
Rock smiled and took the chocolates, giving her the bouquet of roses in his return. She took them with a smile.
They strolled around Happy Park, holding each other's hand. They suddenly spotted a crepe stall and bought some.
Surprisingly, they both ordered a chocolate ice cream banana crepe.
They Rock eventually dropped her home in his bike. Hotaru loved the feeling of wind in her hair.

Hotaru walked into her house and started getting ready for bed, when suddenly a portal appeared in the living room, followed by Gato walking in with Saiki and Mikia.
"Had a good date?" Hotaru asked with a chuckle.
"Very," Gato said with a smile. Then he noticed a bouquet in her hand. "You went out too?"
"Yeah," Hotaru said with a grin. "With Rock."
Saiki and Mikia bid their farewell and returned to their time.
