Scott stirred sometime during the night and turned to face the rest of the living room. He stopped short when he saw a figure of a tall man standing at the end of the hall, near the kitchen.
"Terry?" Scott called sleepily. "Is that you?"
The dark figure stood as still as a statue.
"Terry, what are you doing awake at this time?" Scott said again, sitting up slightly. He squinted his eyes to get a better look. He could see long hair falling down the figure's back, kinda like Andy's. "Andy? Who is it?"
Glowing red eyes suddenly appeared on the black silhouette's face.
"AAAH!" Scott yelled, scrambling on the couch. He was so panicked that he couldn't just pull the blanket off and run. He somehow got tangled in it and couldn't even move. "Who- Who are you?!"
The figure laughed. It was the most horrible, distorted, demonic laugh that he has ever heard. It neared him menacingly, surrounded by a dark aura. Scott tried to climb off the backrest of the sofa to escape, but failed.
He cowered in fear, covering his face with his pillow. He sat there like that for a few minutes, and nothing happened. Scott slowly lowered the pillow to see if the silhouette was gone.
To his horror, it was inches away from his face, staring right into his soul. He screamed and struggled so hard that the sofa fell backwards. The dark figure swerved towards him and stretched out its dark arms towards him. Scott was scared stiff. He eventually blacked out and fainted."Scott?" A voice said. Scott slowly opened his eyes. Something wet licked the side of his face, releasing a whimper. "Scott, are you okay?"
"What happened?" Another voice asked. "Rock, what happened?"
"I don't know, I woke up to Scott screaming, and then he started struggling so hard until the sofa overturned."
The first thing that Scott did when he saw that he was still in the living room was scream his lungs out. "AAAAAHHH!"
"Scott!" His father shouted, shaking him by the shoulders. "It's okay, it's only us."
Scott realised that everyone in the chalet besides Mai were there, giving him concerned looks. Even Anton was looking at him with his big doggie eyes.
"What happened?" Rock asked him, looking equally concerned.
"There was this guy, he- he had really long hair like Andy," Scott began. "He was standing there, I couldn't see what he looked like, but his eyes! They were red, glowing!"
The others looked at each other, confused.
"Then?" Terry decided to say.
"And then... and then it neared me!" Scott blurted. "And it was trying to kill me!"
He started panicking, trying to run away from the living room, but the others stopped him.
"Scott, look around you, there's nothing!" Terry said, pulling his arm. "It must've been a dream!"
"How real it felt, I still feel sore from falling off the sofa!" Scott shuddered.
"That's because you did," Rock pointed out. "But there was nothing there!"
"What?" Scott asked in surprise.
"You were talking to yourself, saying stuff like 'who are you?' when there was no one here but Anton and me," Rock explained. "I immediately got out of bed and turned the lights on. Terry and Mr. Patton then came and carried you to my couch."
"Calm down, son, it was just a nightmare," Mr. Patton ran his fingers through his son's hair. "Come, you can sleep in my room tonight."
Scott immediately shook his head. "Dad, no. I wanna sleep here. It's nice here."
"It's only your first night here, and you're already getting nightmares like this," Mr. Patton pointed out.
"I'll pray before sleep next time," Scott said. "I forgot to pray just now."
"Do it," Mr. Patton said. "I think I'll sleep here with you."
Rock shrugged in agreement, but Scott refused.
"No, Dad, you better sleep in the room," Scott quickly said. "Rock and Anton are here with me, so I have nothing to be afraid of."
He somehow convinced his father to go back to leave him with Rock and Anton. Mary scratched her dog between his ears and went back to her room. How Mai managed to sleep through all that commotion, he still didn't know.
"Why, Scott?" Terry smirked. "Why chase your Dad?"
"Because I wanna spend time with Rock like old times," Scott smiled, putting his elbow on Rock's shoulder. "We don't hang out as much as before. He's sorta like a brother I always wanted. I still remember the first time he called Maple. Gosh, that was funny."
"You were watching with popcorn," Andy chuckled. "I even had to clap a hand over your mouth to keep you from talking too loudly."
Scott snickered. "It was just so funny. Too made she couldn't make it here..."
They eventually left, and the two teen boys were left alone with Anton. Anton decided to sleep as close to Scott as possible to protect him. Scott honestly found it comforting too.
