Bora Bora Birthdays (Part 4)

Athena landed in Bora Bora with the rest of her teammates. She smiled at the hot yet relaxing weather before turning to Kensou.
"Where's our hotel, Ken?" Athena asked, swiping through her phone to look for the booking confirmation.
"It's called the Sunny Sands Resort," Kensou said. "And... I have no clue where it is."
"Where's the car?" Momoko asked, lugging big bags of food.
"I think it will be here any minute now," Kaoru said. She turned to Kaoru, amused. "How much did you even bring, gurl?"
"Not much, mostly just food," Momoko sighed as she placed her bags down. "Where's the car? I'm so tired!"
Kensou casually pulled one of her bags. "You got any meat buns inside here?"
Momoko nodded. "I do. Don't finish everything, leave some for us."
"Give me one too," Bao said as he tugged at Kensou's shorts.
Chin laughed as he slipped on a pair of sunglasses, grinning as he put an arm around his wife. "Come on, if the car doesn't come, we can just walk. It is a beautiful day, after all."
"Beautiful day?!" Kensou exclaimed, successfully finding a meat bun in Momoko's bag. "You're kidding, right? All of us are already half-cooked because of the sun!"
"A nice tan wouldn't hurt, right?" Chin added, still grinning.
Kaoru sighed. "At this rate, we would be lucky to get a tan before being sunburnt."
Chin just shrugged and looked around. "It's a nice place, if you ask me. Lovely, cozy. A place to be lazy."
"True," Athena smiled in agreement. "A nice holiday spot."
For some unknown reason, the BOF refused to come with them. Iori seemed clueless though, just as clueless as she was at the reason of not coming to Bora Bora with her gang. Athena simply shrugged. Maybe they had other plans.
The car finally arrived, a large car it was too so that all seven of them could ride comfortably.
"Let's roll!" Kensou said, slipping behind the while. "Should we go for lunch first or should we just check in?"
"Let's check-in first, chuck all of our baggage in the chalet first," Momoko sighed, holding onto one of her bags since not all of it fitted in the boot.
"How much of food did you even bring?" Athena snorted. "Momo, seriously..."
"What, we might get hungry," Momoko said.
Athena just sighed and turned to Kensou who just finished his meat bun. The flight was like twenty hours long, it was a wonder the food that Momoko tagged along didn't spoil.
"Gege, will there be ice cream in the resort?" Bao asked, sitting on the front passenger seat like he insisted to.
"Of course there is," Kensou grinned as he exited into the main road. "There are iced drinks too, how else would anyone survive in this heat?"
"Oh come on, it's not that bad," Athena said. "Summers in Japan are a lot worse than this, Ken."
"That's true too," Kensou shrugged. "The heat here is different."
They arrived at the resort and checked into their chalet. One of the rooms had to be prepared with an extra, the room which the girls shared.
"This place is nice!" Momoko exclaimed as soon as they entered. "Ooo!"
"There's an air conditioner!" Kensou exclaimed, immediately finding the remote to turn it on. "Ah, yes..." he said when cool air surrounded them. "It's gonna be nice in here."
Chin's wife smiled as she took her sunhat out of her bag. "This is nice, but I feel like going for a beach walk with Gentsai."
Kaoru chuckled. "Have fun, Grandma."
"Have fun, Master," Athena said.
The old couple smiled at each other and sauntered off to the direction of the beach.
"Hey, I heard that Ash is here too," Momoko said. "Wanna go say hi?"
Athena lightened up at the mention of Ash. "Sure! Hey, you think we can get our nails done?"
"Wouldn't he actually love to do that?" Kaoru smirked, looking at her unpainted nails.
Momoko grinned. "Then what's stopping us?"
The three of them left the boys alone to play video games at the TV, since they insisted on bringing the portable console, and made their way over to Ash's chalet. It wasn't hard to locate where he lived since they spotted him standing outside.
With a baby...
"Hey, I don't think that's Ash..." Athena said.
"But I'm sure he still lives here, right?" Kaoru added. "Seeing how his ancestor is here."
They made their over and waved at Saiki.
"Is Ash in?" Athena called over.
Saiki shook his head rather dolefully. "Nope. He and Elisabeth are at the spa. I'm not sure when they'll return, it's been like three hours since the two of them left."
"Spa? What spa?" Momoko seemed interested to know.
Kaoru groaned and pulled her close. "Momo, remember our mission?"
"I do, I was just asking so that we can take Athena there for a treat," Momoko whispered back. "Us along."
Kaoru realised that it was actually a really good idea. "We'll ask them later."
"Why don't the three of you come in for a while? Adalene is really bored without the two of them," Saiki said.
"Wait, why they left Adalene behind?" Athena said in surprise and quickly went up the stairs, following Saiki into the chalet.
The girls found Adalene dolefully seated in the living room with Mikia, who fell asleep. The young woman lit up as soon Athena appeared, springing up to her feet to run to her.
"Athena!" Adalene exclaimed as she hugged her. "You guys are here!"
"Why didn't you follow Ash and Ms Elisabeth to the spa?" Athena asked. "I'm sure they invited you to go with them, right?"
Adalene shrugged. "They did, but I just didn't want to go."
"And why's that?" Momoko asked. "I dunno about you, gurl, but if it was me, I'd gladly go."
"It's pointless trying to ask her, we already did countless times," Saiki sighed, cradling his baby. He motioned towards his sleeping wife. "You see Mikia over there? She got tired of asking her and even fell asleep."
The three of them turned to Adalene.
"Why?" Athena asked.
Adalene turned to look at Saiki in a way that demanded him to leave, which he did, and turned back to the girls. "Monthly problems, nothing that you guys don't know..." she said in a low voice.
"Aww..." Athena sympathetically said, hugging her. "Right, right. You okay, girl?"
"I have some chocolate cakes back in the chalet, you want some?" Momoko asked.
"How much food did you even bring?" Kaoru said in surprise.
Momoko smirked. "Plenty."
Athena snorted and turned to Saiki. "You guys wanna come with us?"
Saiki turned to look at Mikia. "I don't wanna leave her alone here."
Athena thought for a moment before turning to Momoko. "Momo, wanna bring the food here?"
"Why not?" Momoko shrugged, grinning.
They asked Adalene to wait and made their way back to their chalet, marching back a few minutes later with big bags, couch to Adalene's surprise. They sat down in the living room, with Saiki joining in, and had a feast of their own. Mikia soon woke up and joined them too.
"Did someone just throw a party?" A voice suddenly said in a dramatic fashion. "Without inviting moi?!"
Athena snorted and turned to look at him. "You're back. How was the spa?"
Adalene patted the spot beside her. "Join us! Where's Madame Elisabeth?"
"She's out with Meow-Meow," Ash smirked as he sat down. "He just landed with the Terry gang."
"Oh, they're here too?" Adalene grinned. "Hotaru is with them, right?"
"She is," Ash said, reaching for a piece of chocolate cake. "And so is that ridiculous Mai."
"Aww, she's not that bad," Athena said. "She's actually really nice."
Adalene nodded in agreement. "She is. Mademoiselle Mai is really fun to hang out with."
"Have you tried hanging out with her and Andy together?" Ash casually asked.
"No?" Both women said at once.
Ash just pointed a hand out, munching on his chocolate cake.
"He's right, she really is a piece of work," Saiki added in agreement. "I've heard a few complaining that she gives them the heebie-jeebies. I forgot who said that..."
"Probably Rocky or Scotty..." Ash shrugged.
"Or both," Momoko added.
"Yeah, that too," Ash agreed. "Anyway, you guys up to some manicures? The first thing I noticed were all of yous' unpainted nails."
Kaoru quickly nodded. "Yes! That's the reason we came! Anyway, how was the spa? You still hadn't answered."
"It was amazing!" Ash grinned. "Now I know why Rose was so happy, it was really relaxing. Especially the aromatherapy bath. Rose took the massage, but the bath was more our thing. It was really good. You guys should try it out."
"Maybe we will," Kaoru said, making a mental note while giving Athena a discreet side-eye. "Yeah."
Ash saw the hint and grinned. "Alright, lemme go get my kit."
