15th March
"Where's Terry?" Iori asked as soon as he walked into the room that Rock shared with Ash. Scott was there too, sitting and talking with them. "Is he next door?"
"No, Mary somehow brainwashed him to go on a date with her," Rock smirked. "So we can carry out our plan in peace."
Iori smirked. "You have the gift, right?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Let's get this show on the road."
"Wait, he's helping us too?" Scott asked in surprise.
"Terry's my old friend, I've known him longer than you, boy," Iori pointed out with a grin. "Alright, come on. You two wanna carry out this plan or not?"
Ash smirked. "Go on, I'll take care of everything here."Mary excused herself for some unknown reason and asked Terry to go back to the hotel by himself. He shrugged and took a taxi. It's not even that hard, after all, and he even didn't mind going back alone.
Terry walked into the hotel lobby and was surprised when the receptionist suddenly called him.
"Mr. Bogard, there's a package for you," the receptionist called.
Terry went over. "Package? From whom?"
"Not sure, it came by delivery," the receptionist said, taking out a rather large brown box. "Here you go, Mr. Bogard."
Terry frowned and took it up to his room to open it. He looked at the package over and over and saw that it was addressed to him, but in the name Legendary Wolf instead.
"What...?" Terry found himself muttering.
He decided to call Rock to ask about it.
"Yo, Terry!" Rock happily exclaimed as soon as he picked up. "Happy Birthday! Sorry, I forgot to wish you, Scott pulled me off while you weren't around."
"Where are you?" Terry asked.
"At the Hebei Museum, with Scott and his dad."
"Oh... okay... did you order anything and have it sent under my name?"
"No...?"
"Oh..."
"Is everything okay? You sound kinda forlorn."
Terry frowned at the package in front of him. "I just received a parcel. The receptionist said it's for me, but what's written on it is Legendary Wolf."
"Then it must be for you, Terry," Rock simply said. "What's in it?"
"I haven't opened it yet..."
"Why not?"
"What if it's something sinister?"
"Something sinister?" Rock snorted. "Like what?"
"Like... a bomb or something." Terry whispered the word 'bomb' as if the package might explode upon hearing the word.
Rock burst into laughter. "Oh come on, Terry! You seriously think it's a bomb?"
"Okay, okay, I'll open it, alright?"
"Yeah sure, tell me as soon as you have. Also, have you eaten? It's lunchtime."
"Yes, I have. I went to a shop just now with Mary."
"That's good, then. By the way, I have to go. Mr. Patton's suggesting lunch too. Bye!"
With that, he hung up, leaving Terry to silently stare at the package in front of him. He sighed and reached for the pair of scissors he kept in his travelling bag to cut the package open.
It was a pair of blue vintage jeans.
Terry frowned and pulled it out of the box to look. It was exactly his size too.
'Who sent this?' Terry wondered.
He put the jeans aside and dug further into the box to see if there was a note. There was one, folded into the shape of a diamond. Terry opened it and read, his eyes widening. What's up, Wolf? You're Legendary, aren't you? Well, you may be, but can you guess who I am?
Whatever, with no further ado, do you like my gift?
If you do, come to Chang'an Park.
But, if you don't...
Just come to Chang'an Park lol.
Adios!Terry frowned at the note and got up from the bed, grabbing his phone and wallet with the note still in hand. He rushed towards the lift lobby and went downstairs, booking a car to go straight to Chang'an Park. He had to know who was behind it.
When he got to the park, he ran inside, frantically looking around for anyone suspicious.
Terry ended up on the bridge and stood over the rail, looking into the lake that reflected the trees, the bridge, and himself. He looked at his own reflection and grinned at it, but quickly stood up when he felt his cap loosening. The last thing he wanted was to lose his favourite Fatal Fury cap in the middle of a foreign country.
Terry backed away from the railing and accidentally bumped into someone, who seemed gigantic. He wasn't short, a six-footer too, but this man seemed to be a giant even for him.
"Xiexie!" Terry accidentally thanked him instead of apologising, earning a confused look from the stranger.
'Wait... xiexie means sorry, right?' Terry frowned thoughtfully. 'Or was it something else?'
He shrugged and decided to just ask Tung or Shun'Ei later. Mary would know too. But right now, he needed to find the weirdo that sent him the jeans.
Terry suddenly spotted a silhouette of a person move among the strands of the willow trees surrounding the lake. He started running towards them. He knew it was the right person when the unknown person started running as well. As he got closer, Terry noticed how the man was wearing a long black hooded coat that went up to his knees.
"Wait up!" Terry called. He suddenly punched the ground, screaming "Power Wave!"
The man swiftly jumped, dodging the wave of energy. Terry grimaced and continued after him.
All of a sudden, the man stopped, threw something to the ground, and disappeared in thick smoke. Terry halted, coughing as he frantically tried to look for him among the mass of smoke.
Well, it was no use because when the smoke cleared off, the man cleared off too.
But then a white envelope caught his eye.
