Yet another performance for the BOF, this time at a celebrity's birthday party. It was a collaboration with the CYS because the teen star was a fan of both bands and loved the idea of a crossover.
"That was great," Yashiro remarked as he exited the venue with the rest. "Parties are always the best. Don't you guys think so?"
Shermie and Chris nodded.
"It also means I don't have to be the one doing all the cooking," Chris added. "I love how they had Bhutanese food too!"
Shermie snorted and pinched his cheeks. "Because you're the only chef among us, Mon Cheri!"
Iori smiled. "It was nice jamming with you guys again. It just makes the music sound a lot more complete."
"Yeah, and now I have time lag to deal with," Terry groaned. "I'm not tired, even though it's night here. "It's practically still morning there."
"Hey, want us to drop you off in an hour or so?" Zayn asked. "It will just take a jiffy."
Terry shook his head. "Nah, Rock wants to stay here for a few nights. Says he misses Tokyo or something. I'll just go reset at the hotel. Can one of you drop me off?"
Kyo immediately offered, especially since he was the only one with space in his car since he only brought Athena. The Yagamis came with the K' team in Krizalid's Toyota Avalon so there was definitely no room for one more person, especially not for a big guy like Terry.
So the K' team and the Yagamis bade their farewell to Kyo and the rest before making their way back to the black car. Iori and his sister got in at the back with Zayn while K' got in beside Krizalid at the front.
"That party was great," K' remarked. "I like how they had a lot of other things than just desserts and ice cream."
"Yeah, I really liked the mini meat pies," Iori added. "It was full of flavour."
"And buttery goodness," Krizalid added with a smirk. "The cheese puffs were great too."
"I was more interested in the cheese plates," Zayn piped up, stretching his arms behind him. "They had lots of grapes and berries."
Aiko sighed. "That explains why the fruit magically disappeared from every cheese plate they served. Zayn!"
"What, the grapes were delicious," Zayn nonchalantly stated. "And fresh."
Iori pulled Zayn's arm and put them down beside him. "Put your arms down, we're already packed like sardines here and you're just spreading out and taking up more space."
"So that's what that foul smell was," K' remarked from the front. "For a second, I thought there was a sewerage leak somewhere and turns out, it was just your armpits."
"Oi!" Zayn shouted, springing forward to attack K' from the back.
Iori pulled him back down, laughing. "Alright, stop. We have no space here as it is."
Krizalid snorted and dropped them off at their home before driving off to Roppongi. Iori yawned and entered the house with his sister, who started busying herself by feeding their cats.
"Aww, look at how hungry they are," Aiko crooned as she stroked Yua's fluffy black fur. "That's right, eat up."
Iori chuckled and joined her to fond over the cats. Eventually, he got annoyed with his vest cutting through his skin whenever he bent over and ended up going to his room to change into his comfortable pyjamas instead. Aiko decided to do the same too after closing the front door.
All of a sudden, a loud honk sounded outside. Iori looked out the window and to his surprise, he spotted Kyo standing in the driveway. It was pretty dark, but the warm white porch light was enough to illuminate his face. Iori quickly pulled a yukata on and went out to see what he wanted.
"Yagami," Kyo greeted as soon as Iori stepped out. "Sorry, I forgot to inform you. I came here straight after dropping Terry off at the hotel."
"It's fine," Iori sighed as he motioned for him to come in. "Anyway, what brings you here so late?"
"I need to discuss something," Kyo said. He jumped when one of the cats brushed past his leg. "Yo! Oh wait, it's just your cat."
"Yeah," Iori nodded. "Want a drink?"
"Oh," Kyo shook the plastic he was holding, just remembering the fact he brought drinks with him. "I brought us some. Where's your sister?"
"She's in her room," Iori said before making his way to his sister's door. "Yo, Aiko. Kyo's here to discuss something."
"What?!" Aiko groaned on the other side. "Fine, I'll dress up again."
Iori knew how she felt. He was in the middle of changing when Kyo barged in too.
"Is this discussion important?" Iori asked when he returned to the living room.
"Yeah," Kyo sighed. "Father's Day is tomorrow and I have no clue what I should even do."
Iori frowned. "You mean... you only just remembered?"
"Yes?" Kyo sheepishly grinned.
Iori just gave him a funny look.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay?" Kyo blurted out, defeated. "I know what you always say, cherish your parents. But I've been too busy with tonight's performance!"
Iori sighed and nodded. "Fine, I get it. What do you wanna do?"
Aiko came out of her room, wearing the dress she had been wearing at the party, and sulkily sat down beside her brother.
Kyo shrugged. "That's why I'm actually here."
Iori groaned, much to his sister's surprise.
"Okay, what's this actually about?" Aiko asked. "Is something wrong?"
"This guy made no preparations for Father's Day and is here for ideas," Iori pointed a hand at Kyo.
Kyo sheepishly grinned again. "Sorry... but what should I do?"
"We can't book a holiday on such short notice," Aiko sighed.
"Even if so, where to go?" Iori added. "We aren't coming if it's a trip, Kyo. We were thinking of going to Tsukishima to visit our family graveyard."
Aiko frowned thoughtfully before turning to Kyo. "How about this, you just give your dad breakfast in bed, buy him some... beauty products, or something like that, then take him out to a nice dinner. How's that?"
Kyo shrugged. "I don't think we have the ingredients we need for the breakfast in bed, Mom was complaining about needing a shopping trip just before I left for our performance. I'm not sure what kind of beauty products I'd even buy for him, but I guess I can manage a nice dinner."
Iori hid a smirk and shook his head firmly. "No. You're getting him all of that, not just the dinner. If you're out of ingredients, then go get some. It's not too late, some shops would still be open, amirite?"
"Yeah, and the beauty products can be easily bought too, right?" Aiko added.
Kyo shook his head dolefully. "I actually passed the department store just now and they were already closing up. The drugstore should be closed up by now too."
Iori frowned thoughtfully but got an idea. "Why don't you just shop for them online?"
"Online?" Kyo groaned. "But Yagami, they'll take at least one day to deliver. Father's Day is tomorrow, not next week!"
Iori shook his head. "No, not that online shopping. Kyo, I'm sure Holmes' has an EatYou account. You can get the beauty stuff there. The others... you can also get there, I'm sure."
"Yeah, Niisan, that's a great idea," Aiko agreed, nodding. "Just wake up a little earlier than he does and do your work. I'm sure you can still give him a nice surprise, right?"
Kyo nodded slowly. "I guess I can try. But my dad's always up early."
Iori gave him a knowing look. "On a Sunday too?"
"Maybe not," Kyo smirked, remembering how both he and his father slept till teatime when they visited Southtown. "I'll see what I can do." He got up. "Thanks for the idea, by the way, guys!"
He bowed, waved at them, and literally skipped off as he walked away. Iori snorted, shaking his head as he closed the door. He turned to his sister and sighed. "Okay, now we can rest. Poor you, were you in the middle of changing?"
"I was," Aiko sighed. "But I just realised that I need a bath."
"Yeah, me too," Iori sighed. "You go first, I wanna select a movie."
Aiko nodded and left for the bathroom.
