An adventurous birthday (behind the scenes)

K' woke up early and grabbed a duffle bag with his clothes for the night. Seirah was staying over again, and she was waiting for him in the living room with Kula. Maxima soon came out too.
"Have you showered?" Maxima asked.
"No time," K' said, grabbing his keys. "Come on. We'll shower in the hotel."
They went next door and called the others too. They followed in Diana's car and went straight to a hotel in Taito Ward near Ueno Park.
A few hours later, Iori dropped K' and Seirah off at the apartment complex. K' said he wanted to retrieve his bike, and Iori agreed to drop him off.
The siblings waited in front of their apartment door, listening.
"How do we know if he wakes up?" Seirah whispered.
"The door to our room is pretty loud," K' explained. "If he wakes up, he'll come out. And we'll know."
They listened and soon, there was a creak. They heard Krizalid's loud feet loitering around the house.
"Call him," Seirah said as K' started dialling with a grin. They went to Foxy and Diana's house to speak.
"Dash?" Krizalid said as soon as he picked up. "Where are you guys at?"
"Eh we're out," K' said, smirking at the phone. "Also, can you check if there's cheese in the fridge?"
They heard the door of the fridge opening before Krizalid asking them to wait and then there was a staticky sound.
He was evidently searching the fridge as they heard some rustling sounds. Soon, the sound of paper.
When they heard no sound from Krizalid, K' started calling him.
"Kriz?" K' called. "Kriz? You there?"
"Yeah, I am," Krizalid finally said.
"Is there enough cheese?" K' asked, grinning. "Tell me, because if it's finishing, we'll get some on the way back."
"Yeah, there's plenty of it," Krizalid said, sounding a little faraway.
"Great," K' said, giving Seirah a knowing look. "But why do you sound off? Kriz, is something wrong?"
"No, nothing," Krizalid said. "I'm hungry, I need to eat. You guys want breakfast?"
"No, we're good," K' said, smirking. "Also, we got you some. But you better eat something since we'll be back a little late."
Krizalid hung up and they stayed next door. It was a good thing Foxy gave them the keys. They waited for awhile near the front door before hearing the neighbouring door open and close, followed by Krizalid's footsteps walking down the hall.
The siblings immediately got out and entered their home again. K' quickly started packing Krizalid's things for the night in Whip's rucksack. He went to the fridge to make sure that Krizalid had indeed read the coded note.
The note wasn't there, but there was a notepad and a pencil laying on the kitchen table, next to an empty mug. K' grabbed the pencil and shaded on the piece of paper. It revealed the indentations made by the last page, meaning Krizalid had successfully deciphered the note.
"He did it," K' reported to Seirah, tearing the scribbled note before throwing it away in the bin. "Come on, is Max on location?"
"Yeah," Seirah said. "He's in disguise. So he's gonna look different, and he's wearing a Vendetta mask and a hood to look more suspicious."
"Great," K' said with a smirk. "Come on, let's go watch if we can."
So they rushed off to Hinokicho Park on K's bike. They saw Krizalid's car speeding towards the park in Minato City and chuckled.
They stopped and watched from afar as Krizalid got out of his car with the note in his hand. He stared at it again before making his way towards the bridge.
K' immediately started calling Maxima. He connected one of the wireless earbuds, that Zayn gave him, to his phone earlier and wore his helmet to cover his face. Seirah wore a cycling mask since her helmet was an open-face one.
"Max, you there?" K' asked as soon as Maxima answered with his system.
"Yes, I'm right here," Maxima said, standing over the rail of the bridge. "You packed Kriz's things?"
"Yeah, it's right here," K' said, giving the bag behind Seirah a glance. "Is Kriz on the bridge? We saw him walking in."
Maxima paused and turned to see Krizalid searching around the people. More like glaring at them to find the right person.
"Yeah, he's here," Maxima said with a grin. He pulled his mask on and chuckled. "And he's glaring at whoever he's passing by."
Maxima went to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Krizalid turned around and looked him up and down, confused.
Maxima put a hand under his coat and pulled out the package with the Maltese Cross necklace that K' got for him. Since Krizalid was technically him too, K' decided to get him the same one and one for Zayn too.
He smirked under the Vendetta mask and started to leave. To his dismay, Krizalid started following him.
"Dash, he's following me!" Maxima reported, trying to shake him off. "Dash!"
"Get outta there, idiot!" K' said, panicking. "Don't let him catch you!"
Maxima started running, avoiding pedestrians as much as he could. Krizalid elbowed his way through too.
K' and Seirah eventually saw him running out of the park, followed by Krizalid. They slowly followed them on the bike and saw that at one point, Maxima's hood flew off.
Krizalid made a cutting aura with his leg, which they all recognised as his signature move. Maxima managed to dodge it and put on a burst of speed.
"Get outta there!" K' shouted, tailing them on his bike. "Use the smoke bomb, do something!"
But just as he said that, Krizalid grabbed at Maxima's hood, making the siblings gasp. With his other hand, Krizalid ripped the elastic band that secured the mask in place, causing it to fall.
"Darn!" K' cursed, his heart thumping in his ears. "Max!"
Maxima quickly pulled his hood on and used the smoke bomb. He ran off in the other direction and entered a shop. Krizalid frantically looked around, the mask in one hand and the package in the other.
He ripped open the package and stared at the Maltese Cross, confused.
"He opened gift one," K' said. "Max, call him."
Maxima called Krizalid and wired him into their phone call so that K' could hear too. K' gave his other earbud to Seirah so that she could hear too. They watched Krizalid take his phone out and stare at it before answering the call.
"Hello?" Krizalid answered.
"Hey, Kriz," they heard Maxima say. "Are you at home?"
"No, why?" Krizalid said, wandering down the sidewalk back to Hinokicho. "I'm out."
"What?!" Maxima said, sounding surprised. "But they said that my package has been delivered!"
"What do you mean?" Krizalid said, clearly puzzled. "I've been out since this morning!"
"I don't know," Maxima said, trying to sound annoyed. "It's FastGet. Can you go check it out? Sorry, Kriz, but I'm too busy..."
Krizalid grunted in reply and hung up.
"You think he'll go?" Seirah asked.
"Probably," Maxima said. "Anyway, I'm in a convenience store. You guys want some karaage?"
They both agreed and met with Maxima at the convenience store. He took his hood off, but still looked very different from his usual self.
"You're freaking me out," K' said, looking at his change in appearance. "Go back to normal, idiot!"
"I can't," Maxima said, much to his dismay. "These clothes would tear!"
K' rolled his eyes and took the karaage that he handed to him. Maxima and Seirah went back to the hotel in Maxima's blue... Maxima.
K' followed Krizalid's car on his bike. He drove straight to the FastGet outlet. Krizalid parked and got out, rather sulkily. K' stopped his bike nearby and ate his karaage while watching Krizalid enter the warehouse.
"He's going in," K' reported to Maxima. "The stuff has arrived, right?"
"Yeah," Maxima said. "It's not out for delivery yet. Should be there."
Krizalid came out, holding two packages. He looked puzzled, staring at the one package in his right hand. K' swallowed the remainder of the chicken and threw the plastic away in the bin nearby.
"He's out," K' said with a smirk, putting his helmet on. He was glad that he wore a bandana this time. "Boy, is he confused!"
"Great," Maxima said. "Give it a few minutes, I'll call him. I ordered some lunch for him too."
"What did you order?" K' asked, trying to see what Krizalid was doing in the car. "I think he barely had any breakfast besides coffee."
"That's kinda sad," Maxima said with a chuckle. "I bought him sushi and wagashi. That's enough to last him till the party, right?"
"Should be," K' said, looking at the time. "It's nearly three, and the party starts around five."
"That should be okay, then," Maxima said. "Also, you going to pick Zayn? He has the message ready."
"Yeah," K' said, starting his bike. He realised that Krizalid started to drive too.
"I think he opened the package," K' said. "Better call him."
Maxima wired him into the call once again.
"Kriz, did you go to FastGet?" Maxima asked.
"Yeah..." Krizalid said, sounding a little flustered.
'He definitely opened it,' K' thought with a grin.
"Great, did they have it?" Maxima asked, trying not to laugh.
"Yeah, they did," Krizalid said. "I have it here now."
"Thank you, Kriz," Maxima said. "This means a lot. I've bought you lunch, it's on the way to our place now."
Krizalid hung up and drove home.
"Where's Zayn?" K' asked.
"He's at the printing store on the way to our place," Maxima said. "I'll send you the location right now."
So K' picked Zayn up in his bike. They managed to beat Krizalid home since he had to take the long way with his car. K' managed to avoid some traffic and even rode on the sidewalk every now and then.
They spotted the EatYou delivery guy entering the apartment complex. K' and Zayn chased him and caught up to him while he was waiting for the elevator.
"Hey, you're delivering for a Maxima, right?" K' asked.
"Yeah?" The deliverer said.
"To a Krizalid?" Zayn confirmed.
"Yes," the delivery man said again.
They asked him to take out the food that was meant for Krizalid. Puzzled, the delivery man complied.
"You see, we're planning a surprise for Mr. Flame," K' said. "He's our brother. You'd see him later, and you will realise how much we look alike. Then you'll know that we're telling the truth."
The delivery man took out the container of sushi and handed it to them. Zayn took out a transparent label printed with binary codes and pasted it on the bottom of the container. The delivery guy looked at him, confused.
"It's all part of a plan," Zayn said, handing it back to him. "Don't tell Krizalid."
The delivery man nodded and they actually gave him a bribe to make him shut up.
They heard the unmistakable sound of Krizalid approaching the elevator bank. The two men quickly ran towards the fire exit stairway and closed the door. They hid there and listened.
"Is this by any chance being delivered to a guy named Maxima?" They heard Krizalid ask.
"Yeah," the delivery man said. "Is it you?"
"No, but I'm his housemate," Krizalid said, much to their satisfaction.
"Is your name Krizalid Flame?" They heard the delivery man ask.
"Yes, I am," they heard Krizalid say. "That's me."
They heard the elevator ding and the food being handed over to Krizalid. The elevator closed, and the delivery guy walked out.
K' and Zayn dashed out too.
"Hey, I get what you meant by you guys look alike," the delivery guy said when he saw them again. "He just looks like an older version of you!"
"Well, he is," K' said with a shrug. "Thanks a lot, pal."
Then they quickly rode back to their hotel in Taito.
"Did you buy us some sushi too?" K' asked as they entered their hotel room. "I'm hungry..."
Maxima pointed to the plastic bag on the table. K' and Zayn hungrily ate them. Their mouth watered when they saw Krizalid's food container earlier.
"Now it's time for our disguise," K' said with a grin. "Zayn, you've got your mask, right?"
"Yeah," Zayn said taking it out with a grin. "Let's go,"
Ash arrived with the painting of Krizalid and grinned.
"It's ready," Ash said. "Drawn by the same artist."
They looked at it in awe.
"You did one for each of us too, right?" K' asked, admiring the painting.
Ash smirked and took out a big bag.
"Including one for me," Ash said, smirking. "I couldn't resist too."
So they wore the Vendetta masks with a hood and went to Ueno on foot, the painting under Zayn's coat.
"He's bringing the necklace, right?" K' asked.
"Yeah, I stated that he should bring it," Zayn said. "On the coded message."
They went to Ueno Park and waited for him on a park bench. They took the mask off for now, to appear less suspicious.
"Don't worry, they'll just think we're going to a costume party," K' said. "Alright, where is he?"
"Shoot, I forgot to say that we're at the park!" Zayn suddenly exclaimed. "I wrote Ueno, but not Ueno Park."
"I think that's more than enough," K' said. "I hope..."
They soon saw him wandering around in the park aimlessly. K' and Zayn stood in front of him. He stopped and looked at them with a confused and paranoid expression.
"What do you want from me?" Krizalid demanded from them.
Zayn took out the painting of Krizalid and handed it to him.
"What's this supposed to be?" Krizalid demanded again, exasperated. "Why are you giving me these strange gifts?!"
They motioned for him to follow them. He did, but they could see that he was so paranoid. Zayn started snickering when Krizalid flinched at even the sound a stray dog made when scampering past him.
They stopped in front of the hotel and turned to him.
K' bit his lip to keep from laughing and pointed at Krizalid's neck. Zayn joined in too.
"Huh?" Krizalid said, confused.
K' rolled his eyes and went to him.
'Do I have to do everything myself?' K' thought to himself, annoyed at his older clone.
He lifted Krizalid's hand with the painting and pointed at the necklace.
"You want me to wear it?" Krizalid asked, puzzled.
They both nodded, trying to keep from laughing, and watched him put it on. Krizalid was clearly paranoid at this point.
The two of them led Krizalid towards the hotel's banquet hall. They stood near the entrance, hinting that he should enter.
Krizalid swung the door open with a shaking hand, and was almost thrown back when the remix of his theme started playing. Everyone started singing him a Happy Birthday.
K' and Zayn took off their masks and entered the room too. They stood near the door, grinning at Krizalid's reaction. He eventually turned around and looked at them in surprise.
"So it was you guys?!" Krizalid exclaimed, running to them. He started shaking them by their shirt collars. "What was the point of that?!"
"It's your birthday, Kriz!" K' said grinned. "Also, be happy we didn't kidnap anyone."
"Ralf wasn't behind this, right?" Krizalid asked.
"Nope," Zayn stated with a grin. "Just us."
Krizalid started disturbing them, annoyed and relieved at the same time.
"Go get changed," K' finally said. "Your stuff's at the back."
He followed Iori to the changing room at the back.
"We should go get changed too," Zayn said.
They changed in the changing rooms too and came out to see Krizalid wearing his white suit with a big smile on his face.
"And we're staying here for the night," K' said with a smirk. "Our room's upstairs."
"And you're sharing with me," Maxima said, showing him a key.
They all enjoyed the party, especially Krizalid. He never had a party thrown for him on his birthday.
