Hey guys, sorry this chapter's a little late. I actually finished it last night, just didn't edit it lol. But here it is! I hope you like it!
The Yagamis and a part of the K' team drove down the streets of Southtown, navigating their way towards the Bogard home.
"I seriously hope this party will be better than the last..." K' sighed, leaning against the seat, clad in a zombie costume. All he did was paint his face a shade of pale green and make his eyes and cheeks look sunken. He almost scared Kula with his white contacts. "Iori, sense any... Orochi stuff going on?"
"I can't really do that..." Iori shrugged, his eyes fixated on the road. He brushed aside a few strands of the light brown wig he was wearing and gave him a glance. "It's only the guardian that can do that. The Yata..."
"Okay so, that Yata lady is coming, right?" Zayn asked from the backseat, dressed like Hazama Kuroo from Black Jack. "I thought Terry invited her or something?"
"He did," Iori nodded. "But she didn't come with us."
"What's it like taking a commercial jet, anyway?" Isolde asked, holding her detachable costume wings. "I've never been on a plane before, sorry."
"Trust me, taking the spaceship is a lot better," K' said, shifting slightly on his seat.
"Yep," Aiko agreed, wearing an Ariel costume. Of course, she wasn't wearing a shell bikini, much to Benimaru's dismay. Instead, she was wearing a purple strapless sequin top with a green mermaid skirt. "It's a lot more crowded, and there's no fridge with soda and ice cream. And it would take forever to arrive at the destination."
"Oh..." Isolde nodded. "Now that sucks..."
Iori chuckled. "That's how normal people travel."
"Hey, are you implying that we ain't normal?!" Zayn chimed in.
"Which 'normal' people would need to wear gloves to suppress their flames?" K' chimed in, raising his gloved right hand.
"Hey, in that case, we ain't normal too," Iori pointed out. "Which normal person has fire powers?"
Aiko snorted, holding up a lock of her long red hair. "Which normal person has hair this red?"
"I always got into trouble for it at school," Iori rolled his eyes. "They only stopped bothering me when my uncle gave them a letter explaining it."
"Imagine, the headmistress personally inspected the roots of my hair..." Aiko sighed. "She even used a magnifying glass! Felt like smacking it into her head, but luckily I controlled."
They started laughing as they imagined Aiko smacking a magnifying glass into the principal's head. They soon saw Terry's home coming to view and parked at the side of the road. It was a little hard to find a spot since the party was big and the whole lane was crowded with parked cars.
"Wow, looks like we have to walk..." Zayn said, helping Isolde put on her fairy wings. "Well, at least it's a cold night."
As they neared Terry's home, the beat of music grew louder. The whole house, and garden, were decorated in Jack o' lanterns and spooky decorations. Aiko almost gasped when she saw a dark figure on the porch. Turns out, it was just part of the decor.
"Darn, that kinda looks spooky..." Aiko said nervously. "But it's really nice."
"Yeah..." Iori said. "Too bad the CYS couldn't make it. They're having a performance, it seems."
"Good..." K' smirked. "I don't wanna see their faces, I don't know why."
"Maybe it's because of the Orochi business that happened last year," Aiko shrugged. "But it technically wasn't their fault, was it?"
"I don't think so," Iori shook his head. "They looked just as confused as we were."
There were a lot of people there, all next to unrecognisable. They soon found Terry, even that was because of his hair. He had somehow covered his eyes with his fringe and even had fake blood dripping down his mouth.
"So... what's the costume?" Iori asked, unable to recognise his costume. Terry was wearing a torn black jacket with a blood-stained white shirt underneath too. "Injured blond Shermie?"
Terry shook his head. "Nah... I have no idea what costume this is myself. I just winged it."
Iori started laughing. "Where's your brother? What did he do?"
"He's wearing a Thor costume, and Mai... she's cosplaying Jane Foster..." Terry shrugged, nodding towards the couple. "Anyway, nice Light Yagami costume, Yagami. I like how both Yagamis are known for their manic laughs."
Iori playfully rolled his eyes and turned back to his friends. "Where are the rest? I thought they were coming with Maxima?"
"They were, but I'm not sure where they are," K' answered with a shrug. He started looking around and eventually pointed to Maxima walking in, clad in his Aquaman costume. Kula, Foxy, and Diana were right behind him.
And then came someone dressed in black with his entire face hidden behind a hood and a high collar.
"Seriously, Kriz literally came like that?" Iori snickered. "That's not even a costume!"
K' groaned in agreement. "He thinks no one can recognise him in that."
Krizalid came towards them and waved.
"Guess who am I!" Krizalid said, pointing to himself.
K' rolled his eyes. "Seriously?"
"You know it won't work on us, right?" Iori added, shaking his head.
Krizalid then looked over at Terry. "Let's see if Terry knows me."
He signalled for them to be quiet and went towards the blond man. Terry instantly lit up and grinned at him.
"Hey, Kriz!" Terry greeted, much to his surprise. "Nice... Stalker costume you have there."
"Thanks..." Krizalid said in dismay before rejoining the laughing K' and Iori. "Yeah, yeah, very funny. Hilarious!"
Krizalid's sarcasm just made them laugh even more.
"Yeah, I'm just gonna go raid the buffet instead..." Krizalid sighed and turned away from them. "You guys continue laughing here."
They ended up going after him to raid the buffet too. They ended up piling their plates high with desserts and sat around together to eat.
All of a sudden, a person wearing a pink hooded jumpsuit appeared. Their face was hidden behind a black full-face mask with a triangle on the top. They were even carrying a black assault rifle.
"Is that...?' Krizalid snorted when he saw it. "I wonder how many more are gonna arrive like that..."
Terry immediately made a beeline for them, pointing at the gun.
"Is that gun real?" Terry asked with a frown.
The person shook his head and raised both of his hands, holding the gun. He pulled the trigger and instantly, the gun made a familiar noise. The noise every toy riffle made. Everyone started laughing, even Terry.
"Alright, you can keep that gun," Terry chuckled. "By the way, who are you?"
The person shrugged.
"Oh... so you don't wish to break character..." Terry nodded. "Never mind, as long as you don't cause any mayhem, feel free to enjoy the party."
The person nodded and made their way towards the buffet table.
"Now that's funny," K' chuckled. "I like how he's carrying one of those cheap toy guns they sell at the general store."
"I know right," Iori snorted. "Well, as long as the gun is harmless."
"Should I get a drink?" Krizalid asked, looking over at the drinks bar that Terry had set up.
"No." Both of his friends said at once.
"You're gonna get so wasted, and then we are the ones that have to suffer the consequences," K' shook his head. "Kriz, don't..."
"Oh come on, one cocktail wouldn't hurt, right?" Krizalid smirked.
Iori snorted. "As long as you don't try to face-plant the buffet table, I guess it'll be fine."
K' firmly shook his head. "Iori, no. He'd not only do that, but he'll also be accusing everyone of stealing his butter sandwich crackers."
Krizalid grunted and rolled his eyes, stuffing his face with cheese puffs.
Kula and Honoka suddenly leapt towards them and pulled their boyfriends away to join the dance. Krizalid was just there in his hood, his collar half-rolled down, and a cheese puff between his teeth.
'Seriously?' He thought, swallowing his mouthful of food. 'Whatever, I think I'll just go get myself a cocktail...'
He went to the bar and sat down, asking the mixologist for a Potion Punch.
"Alcoholic or non?" The bartender asked, much to his surprise.
"Uh... I think I'll have a non..." Krizalid said, giving the dancing K' and Iori a glance. "And make that two."
"Alright..." the bartender said, starting to mix his drinks.
"Kriz?" A woman's voice suddenly called, making Krizalid turn around to look. To his surprise, it was a woman with long white hair and very white skin, wearing a white dress that contrasted her fully black eyes and lips. He soon recognised her to be Foxy since he only saw her when leaving the hotel. "Where are the others?"
Krizalid pointed at the dancing couples and sighed.
"I see..." Foxy nodded, slipping into the seat next to his. "Well, look at my best friend."
She motioned her head towards Diana, who danced with 'Aquaman', clad in a Monica Rambeau costume. It was funny how they were both dressed as superheroes, but completely unrelated ones.
"So your friend ditched you too, huh?" Krizalid snorted, taking the drink that the bartender put in front of him. "Well, at least you're here. Wanna have a drink?"
Foxy nodded and asked for a Cider Sidecar. Krizalid kept in mind to take flight if she ever gets drunk, considering how he'd be the first to get the blame.
"What costume are you even wearing?" Foxy asked suddenly.
Krizalid shrugged, taking a sip of his cocktail. "I have no idea. Terry thinks I'm going for a stalker, though."
"That's exactly what we thought during that time in Ireland," Foxy chuckled. "Especially since you kept appearing wherever we went."
"Well, you guys did the same thing too," Krizalid pointed out. "Wherever I went, you and your big group were sure to follow."
Foxy shrugged, taking the cocktail that the bartender pushed towards her. "I guess we were meant to meet up that time."
Krizalid then remembered the dance he had with her at Rig's party. For some reason, he felt his face going hot.
"This bar is really good, don't you think?" Foxy said suddenly. "I like how Terry rigged this up, even serving non-alcoholic cocktails."
Krizalid couldn't help but agree with that. At least now he had a reason to binge on cocktails without getting drunk.
So he ended up just sitting there, sipping drinks while chatting with Foxy.
