Adalene suddenly awoke in the middle of the night. She wasn't sure why she woke up, so she just shifted to the other side and closed her eyes to go back to sleep.

Hu ha ha ha ha

Adalene gasped and sat up. She looked over at Hotaru's sleeping figure and reached over to wake her.
"Hot?" Adalene called. "Hotaru!"
Hotaru didn't seem to hear, not moving even an inch. Adalene groaned and fell back on her bed. She realised how the room didn't look as dark as before, considering her eyes had already adjusted to what light that was left in the room.
Adalene spotted the silhouette of a man standing close to the window. She didn't see him at first since only half of him was illuminated by the window.
"Who's there?" Adalene asked, rubbing her eyes. She saw that the man had long straight hair slicked back. She thought it was Gato or his dad since they were the only ones tall enough to fit the figure. "Monsieur Futaba? Is that you?"
The same distorted laugh came. Adalene screamed.
"Who are you?!" Adalene shrunk back om the bed. "Hotaru!"
Hotaru didn't seem to hear her at all. The figure neared her at the speed of light, staring into her soul with glowing red eyes.
"Get out!" Adalene shrieked. "Please! Leave me alone."
The black shadow neared her menacingly. Adalene fell off her bed. The figure didn't give up, coming closer. Adalene screamed, trying to crawl away.

"Adalene!" Someone called, trying to lift her up. "Ada! Wake up! Speak to me, girl!"
Adalene let out a soft moan as she was hoisted up in someone's arms.
"Ady?" Someone else said, putting her on the bed. "Can someone bring water?"
"I'll get it," a similar voice said.
Soon, Adalene was shocked by a splash of water hitting her face. She gasped awake and looked around at the faces around her. Hotaru handed her a glass of water.
"Adalene, are you okay?" Hotaru asked, being the closest. Itokatsu was perched on her shoulder, looking just as concerned as she was. "Say something!"
"There was someone in the room," Adalene said after taking a few sips of water.
"Who?!" Almost everyone asked at once.
Adalene's eyes widened as she thought of something.
"Ash, Psych!" Adalene said, much to their surprise. "It looked like that evil relative of yours!"
Ash immediately turned to Saiki, who shrunk back a bit.
"Is that so...?" Ash said, his eyes narrowed at his ancestor.
"N-No, it wasn't," Saiki shook his head. He spotted Adalene from the corner of his eye. "We would've sensed it if it was him."
To his dismay, Ash actually gave him the 'I'm watching you' again. Saiki scowled and turned away from him.
"What did he look like?" Elisabeth asked, stooping down slightly.
"He was tall, I thought it was Hotaru's dad or brother at first," Adalene said, earning a confused look from the Futabas. "But then, it wasn't! He had glowing red eyes!"
Everyone turned towards Saiki. He felt their gaze burning right through him.
"Stop giving me that look, guys! It wasn't me!" Saiki blurted. "I was asleep the whole time!"
"Ash, it wasn't Psych!" Adalene quickly said. "It's your evil relative!"
"Basically the same thing," Ash muttered, glaring at Saiki.
Saiki grimaced and left the room, his surprisingly silky bed hair flowing behind him.
"What did he do?" Ash asked, turning back to Adalene in concern. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, he didn't," Adalene shook her head. "He was standing there, near the window. I started screaming as soon as I realised his glowing eyes. He laughed too, and my, was that the worst sounding laugh I've ever heard!"
"And then?" Elisabeth asked.
"He neared me," Adalene said, after taking another gulp of water. "I panicked and fell off the bed!"
"I saw that!" Hotaru chimed in. "I was already awake when you screamed the first time! You were trying to crawl away from your bed when I woke you!"
"But... but you were still asleep!" Adalene retorted. "I could still see you!"
"No, I wasn't," Hotaru shook her head. "I was already awake, trying to wake you!"
Adalene stared at her in surprise.
"But..." Adalene murmured. "I called for you!"
"You did," Hotaru nodded. "And I was right next to you. Ash and Miss Elisabeth were already here at the time too!"
"What about Saiki?" Elisabeth asked.
"He only came after," Hotaru said. "When Adalene was somewhat awake, but still sorta unconscious."
"When I was carrying her?" Ash asked, much to Elisabeth and Adalene's surprise.
"You carried me?!" Adalene said in shock.
"You actually carried her?!?!" Elisabeth repeated, just as shocked.
"Well, Hot was having trouble waking her, and she was on the ground," Ash shrugged. "So I decided to carry her and put her on the bed."
Adalene turned red and hid her face in her hands. Hotaru tried not to smile.
"It's okay, we'll discuss this tomorrow," Ash quickly said, leaving the room.
He went over to the dark living room and saw Saiki slouched on his couch.
"It wasn't me..." Saiki mumbled.
"What?" Ash asked, not quite hearing.
"It was not me!" Saiki said much louder. "Why do you keep suspecting me?"
Ash silently went to his couch and sat down.
"I shouldn't have come..." Saiki murmured, almost in a whisper.
Ash groaned. "Relax, Psych. Adalene doesn't know for sure if it was you."
"Well, then who is your 'evil relative'?" Saiki asked, turning towards Ash in the dark. "Besides, that Mai girl suspects me too. Those Bogard brothers mistook you for me to confront me!"
Ash didn't know what to say. He knew Saiki wouldn't go back to his old ways, but on the other hand, he couldn't forget what he actually did to him and Elisabeth during the thirteenth tournament.
"You don't believe me too, do you?" Saiki sighed, lying down on the couch. "Well, it's no point talking to you, then. I'll leave tomorrow if you want."
Ash kinda felt bad. He knew that it would be pointless to try and convince him now, so he decided to just sleep on it and try to talk to him the next day.
