17 March, late evening.
Kyo stared at Yuki in surprise when she refused to go on a holiday with him.
"No, Kyo, I've had it with the twisted parties that you and your friends have hosted," Yuki said. "I can't, Kyo. I don't want to get hurt again, and I can't bear to see you get hurt as well." She sighed when she saw his horror-stricken face and touched his face. "Kyo, please. I just want to celebrate my birthday in peace, with my family and my loved ones."
"But... but not with me?"
Yuki shook her head. "No, Kyo, it's not like that. I would love to celebrate with you, just that I don't want to go through an extreme surprise is all. I love you, Kyo. I love you dearly. But please. Just let me stay away just this once. My family is planning something for me, I... I'm not sure what yet, but I'm sure that it's nothing like what I went through in South Town or what you went through in Monja Street."
Yuki gave Kyo a pained smile and gave him a tight hug, then a kiss on the cheek when she pulled away. "Kyo, I'll be back on the twenty-third. You know I can't miss Honoka and Iori's birthdays, right? I'll come with you then, but for now, I have my own plans for my birthday, Kyo." Her hand played with the strands of his hand for a moment before she gave him another peck on the nose. "I need to go now, Kyo. We're leaving tonight."
Kyo just watched as she pulled away from him and walked away, turning around once to smile and wave at him at him before disappearing into her house. He just stood there, on her driveway, and stared after her. It felt as if she had broken him into a million pieces, then haphazardly put him together, then running off real quick before he could fall apart again.
Kyo sank onto his bike, his movements mechanical as he started the motorcycle, and rode home.

18 March, morning.
"She dumped you?!" Iori gasped when Kyo told him the news. "Kyo, are you serious?!"
Kyo nodded silently, still down in the dumps.
Benimaru shook his head. "No, Yagami. Yuki didn't dump him, she just rejected Kyo's offer of going out on a holiday with him on her birthday, since it all ended in disaster before, and also because she wants to celebrate with her parents. She did it as gently as she could too, even promising to come back before Honoka's birthday. But look at him."
"She actually called me to inform about what happened," Aiko added. "She sounded like she felt bad for declining Kyo's offer, but she said that she didn't want to get hurt no more. And she also said that she missed hanging out with her parents."
Iori heaved a sigh of relief. "Oh, Kyo. Let her be, she needs space too. You're always hanging out without her, and she respects that, right? She's just expecting the same thing for her. Let her enjoy her birthday with her parents."
"Yes, just like how you're enjoying with yours," Shizuka appeared and placed a set of tea in front of them, joining them as well. "Kyo, just let her. The poor girl needs to recover from whatever you did to her the last time you threw her a party."
"Yeah, Kyo, that was a really mean trick," Benimaru added. "She was so worried for you."
"I was worried for her like that too when you kidnapped her for my birthday," Kyo countered slowly.
Benimaru turned a little red. "That's... that's not the point."
"That is the point, Beni," Aiko sighed. "It's because of you guys did she get hurt."
"Sorry?" Benimaru sheepishly said, making Aiko sigh.
"Kyo, just let her celebrate with her family," Iori added. "Give her some space and time."
Kyo sighed. "I guess you're right... she deserves to celebrate with her parents."
"That's more like it," Shizuka smiled. "Now, we can have some tea."
The doorbell suddenly rang, signalling that there were more visitors coming by. Iori got up to answer it and to his amusement, it was K' and Krizalid with a grape-eating Zayn.
"We came as soon as we heard the news," K' solemnly said, holding a plastic bag. He looked past Iori and spotted Kyo dolefully sitting with his cup of tea. "My condolences, Kyo."
Iori snorted. "Condolences?"
K' nodded. "Yes." He walked past the redhead with his cronies. "We brought you some ice cream to help you deal with this. I'm very sorry for what happened, Kyo."
Kyo hid his face while Benimaru and Aiko started laughing, with Shizuka smiling at the situation as well. Iori snickered and closed the door before going to the trio that just entered.
"Dash, no," Iori chuckled. "Literally nothing happened."
"Then what was with those devastation texts in the BOF chat?" Zayn spoked up, still chomping on his grapes.
Benimaru shrugged, still laughing. "Just Kyo's overreacting."
"Oh..." the three of them said at once.
"Then what did happen?" Krizalid sighed as he sat himself down on the armchair.
"Yuki... she wants to celebrate her birthday without me," Kyo choked out.
Shizuka sighed. "Because she wants to celebrate with her family. She told him real gently too, even gave me a call to comfort him and made it very clear that she still loved him."
"Eh?" Iori turned to Kyo, nodding slightly as if to confirm.
Kyo nodded. "Yes."
"Then why do you worry?" K' groaned. "Like look at us." He pointed to himself and Krizalid, then realised the latter didn't relate. K' pointed to himself and Zayn. "Us. Our girls are besties, always hanging out with each other, without us. Let her have her space, dude. She needs to have some freedom too, right?"
"Tell him, Dash," Aiko agreed. "He made us think that Yuki dumped him just because she said she didn't wanna celebrate with him."
"I understand," Kyo nodded. "It just hurts, knowing that I didn't give her a good birthday."
Iori sat himself down beside him. "Well. Let her have one now."
"But it isn't with me," Kyo argued.
"That's too bad, then," Iori shrugged. Then he turned to K', smirking slightly. "Also, I've always wanted to ask you. Why don't you wear anything underneath that leather jacket?"
K' looked down at his attire, much to everyone's amusement.
"Yeah, I agree with Yagami," Kyo added. "I always wear something underneath since it's kinda hard to clean the inside, and I don't wanna dirty it much. It's literally leather, it can't be tossed in the wash."
K' just looked at Kyo, smirking slightly. "How often do you clean your jacket?"
"Once a week?" Kyo shrugged. "Whenever I think it's dirty."
K' shook his head in disgust. "Eww..."
"Then how often do you clean yours?" Kyo asked, slightly annoyed at his reaction.
Krizalid spoke for him. "Every day."
Kyo sighed. "I can't beat that."
Iori snorted and got up. "Also, I'm gonna bring some cups for the ice cream before it turns to mush."
Kyo got up and followed him as well, leaving Benimaru, Aiko, and Shizuka with the rest of the K' team.
Shizuka smiled as she turned to the other K' team brothers. "How are you guys doing?"
"Good," Krizalid nodded. "But I'm not sure about Kyo."
"Oh, he'll come around eventually," Shizuka shrugged. "I'll make something nice for lunch to cheer him up."
Zayn lit up. "Are we invited?"
Shizuka shrugged. "You are now."
Benimaru leaned forward slightly. "We're also having a meeting later to discuss Yagami's birthday."
K' smirked. "We know. That's why we're here."
"So you're not here for Kyo?" Aiko grinned.
"Of course we are," Krizalid said, casually leaning forward to pour himself some tea. "Because... tea!" He pointed at the tea in front of him.
Aiko snorted. "I wonder which tea is it."
"Oh come on, our Kyo's overreacting," Shizuka chuckled. "Poor Yuki, he really did some damage on her the last time he threw her a party."
Benimaru nodded solemnly. "Yeah. She was so scared for him. It's a good thing we beat him up."
"Thank you for doing that," Shizuka said, much to the K' team's amusement. "He really deserved that."
The five of them kept quiet when Kyo and Iori arrived with cups and spoons for the ice cream. They gladly unpacked the ice cream tub and started helping themselves to a few scoops.
"You know, it still baffles me that you're no longer 'allergic' to sweets," Iori snorted as he scooped some ice cream for himself. "Like, you're always complaining before."
K' shrugged. "I guess things change." He gave Iori a knowing look. "Anyway, you said you'll get me some seijo-kankidan?"
"And you said you have the recipe?" Iori countered, also giving him a knowing look.
"You have the recipe for the oldest sweet of Japan?" Krizalid looked at him in surprise.
K' nodded, grinning. "I do. I made it the other day, remember?"
"Where did you even get it?" Zayn asked. "It was delicious."
"From..." K' then pointed to Kyo. "Kyo!"
Kyo looked at him in surprise but just smiled. "Yeah, from Mom. Mom's recipe."
Shizuka looked at him in surprise. "You knew my recipe the whole time but never once bothered to help?" She gave him a backhand.
Kyo just shrugged. He didn't know the recipe...
