The CYS were hosting a huge Halloween party and had invited everyone they knew. They had already done everything and were waiting for their guests.
The first to arrive was Kyo. He had some trouble entering the doorway since he was wearing a large pair of black feathered wings on his back. He also had demonic horns protruding out of his hair followed by tattoo-like markings on his forehead and chest. He even stuck a gem in the middle of his forehead to resemble a third eye. He wore golden contacts and arranged his fringe to fall over his face in wisps. He somehow made his hair look spiked at the back.
"Whoa nice costume," Yashiro greeted him, wearing a Frankenstein costume. "What is it?"
"Devil Jin," he replied with a weird voice.
"What happened to your voice?" Shermie asked, from behind him, clad in an orange devil costume.
Kyo held up a small device and grinned, revealing sharp fangs.
"Voice changer," Kyo said in his own voice. "How's my costume?"
"It's great," Yashiro said. "Come on in, you're the first to arrive."
Benimaru soon came and Yashiro couldn't tell what his costume was. He looked the same.
"Umm... who are you cosplaying as?"
"Jean-Pierre Polnareff," Benimaru said with a grin. "How do I look?"
"The same," Kyo's disguised voice came from somewhere in the room.
"Who said that?" Benimaru asked, looking around.
"Kyōfu wo oshiete yarō," Kyo said stepping forward with a plate of fish sticks.
"Whoa! Nice costume, dude!" Benimaru said. "Where's the rest?"
"Who knows," Kyo said with a shrug. "I'm just here snacking."
Soon, Iori and Aiko arrived. Iori was dressed as the Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland while Aiko dressed up as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas.
He even brought one of his cats as a substitute for the Cheshire Cat. Aiko brought the other one with her though.
"Hey the costume actually suits you," Yashiro complimented. "And you guys even brought your cats..."
Iori grinned and looked around. He saw Kyo standing there and instantly recognised his costume.
"I never knew you'd go to that extent," Iori said. "Anyway, where's K'?"
Well, he and his entire team soon arrived. There were weird bunch.
First off, K' was dressed as Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul since he had white hair. Kula wore a Kim Possible costume while Seirah was wearing a Black Widow costume. Krizalid wore a Batman costume while Maxima came as Wreck-It Ralph. He hoped that Ralf wouldn't choose that costume too.
Isolde was wearing an Ice Queen costume while Zayn was dressed as Asagiri Gen from Dr. Stone. Foxy and Diana weren't in costume. They just came for the sake of it.
"That costume actually goes well with you," Iori said when K' and Kula joined him. "But how are you gonna eat without taking that off?"
K' unzipped his face mask across his face and stuck his tongue out at him.
"You actually got the real thing," Iori said with a chuckle. "But you guys are so mismatched..."
"It's Halloween," K' said, zipping his mask back. "It doesn't matter now, does it? Even you and Aiko are quite mismatched..."
Next, Terry, Andy, Rock and Scott came in.
Terry was dressed like Ken Masters from Street Fighter. Well, he had the right hair and right face. Andy was dressed as Alucard from Castlevania while Rock was wearing a Superman costume. Scott was wearing a Marty McFly costume.
"All we need now is a Biff and a Joker now," Kyo joked, seeing them enter. "Gosh, what a strange-looking bunch!"
Ash and Elisabeth soon came in. Ash was wearing a Joker costume while Elisabeth was dressed like M.O.M from Martin Mystery.
"There's your Joker," Iori said with a smirk. "Now all we need is a Biff Tannen."
Shen Woo and Duo Lon came behind them. Shen was actually dressed like Martin Mystery while Duo Lon was dressed like the Grim Reaper.
Ash looked at everyone else who came.
"Am I the only one who wore a wig for my costume?" Ash said, sounding a little annoyed. "All of you guys just went with something that suited your real hair. And you, Monsieur Nikaido... you aren't even wearing a costume!"
"Says who?" Benimaru said, showing himself with his hands. "I'm Jean-Pierre Polnareff."
"Now that's kinda lame," Ash said with a chuckle. "You chose to dress like someone you were based on!"
"Oi!" Benimaru retorted. "He's still a famous character."
Honoka soon arrived and she realised that she accidentally matched her costume with Iori.
"Where's Chris?" Kula asked, looking around.
"He's in the kitchen," Shermie said. "He's making some snacks."
Kula snuck off to the kitchen to meet her peer. Chris was preparing some ghostly burgers and some blood-glazed ice cream while wearing a Halloween devil costume, complete with a tail stuck to his shorts.
"Chris!" Kula exclaimed. "How are you doing?"
"Oh hi, Kula," Chris greeted. "Aren't you enjoying the party?"
"I'm waiting for the ice cream!" Kula exclaimed enthusiastically. "And the burgers!"
The two of them brought the snacks outside to the buffet table while talking and laughing.
"How is high school?" Kula asked. "I've never been to one. How is it like?"
"You know, school," Chris said with a shrug. "You study, meet some friends and... yeah. That's pretty much it."
"Is it fun?" Kula asked. "I wanna go to high school too!"
"Trust me, Kula, you wouldn't want to go once you go," Chris said. "I'd rather stay at home, trust me."
Just then, another girl their age came to them, wearing a Dora costume.
"Hi!" She greeted cheerfully. "What are you guys talking about?"
"School," Chris said. "Hey, you guys are lucky to not go to school. It's fun and all, but there are bullies and other stuff to battle."
"Nothing Konru can help me with!" Rimururu exclaimed cheerfully.
"Yeah, no..." Chris said. "You would get in trouble and get banned from school for life."
The two girls just shrugged and grabbed a bowl of ice cream each. They went off to where Isolde was and was chatting with her, leaving Chris behind.
"Hey," Yashiro suddenly called Chris. "Your friend ain't here?"
"Friend?" Chris asked, confused. "Who?"
"That chick that gave you a birthday kiss, duh!" Yashiro said, grinning.
"Oh, Chiyo," Chris said. "Nah she isn't here..."
"Or so he thinks," Shermie said, coming towards them with a grin. "Chris, look over there."
Shermie pointed towards the distance at the drink table. A girl that was all too familiar to Chris was there, wearing a yurei costume.
"Chiyo?" Chris said, his eyes widening. "She came!"
Chris went over and greeted her.
The party was going great with them standing around, talking and stuffing their face with endless food. Shermie decided to have some party games.
They decided to play the Killer game together.
So all of them sat around the room on chairs to play the game. They were having fun with it, laughing at Athena for being an obvious killer.
All of a sudden, the lights went out. The sound of gunshots echoed in the darkness.
"What's going on?" Yashiro got up and demanded. "Is everyone okay?"
He got a murmur in response. Everyone started using their phone flashlights to look around.
"Is everyone alright?" Kyo asked, moving his phone light around. "Yuki, where are you?"
"I'm right here," Yuki said, turning her phone light on too.
"Aiko?" Iori called. He was replied with his sister tightly gripping onto his arm. "Where's Honoka?"
The pink haired girl suddenly shone her phone light in her face, creeping the others out.
"Don't do that!" Aiko shouted, pulling the phone away from her face. Honoka grinned in the dark.
"Kula?" K' said, searching for his childish girlfriend. "Where is she?"
"Right here," Kula's high-pitched voice replied. "Rimu?"
No reply. Everyone started searching for the little girl with the help of their phones.
Luckily, they found her near the buffet table, a bowl of candies in her hand. She had been 'killed' long before and had decided to leave the game to snack instead.
"What happened?" Rimururu asked, looking around. "Who turned off the lights?"
"Did you hear the gunshots?" Nakoruru asked.
"No?" Rimururu said thoughtfully. "I mean, kinda. I heard something, but that was all."
Nakoruru pulled her sister out into the main room.
"Stay here," Nakoruru said. "We need to stick together."
All of a sudden the lights came back on. The room was just as how it was before the lights went out.
"What just happened?" Shen asked, looking at everyone.
They started asking around if anyone was hurt, but no one was.
"What was that gunshot?" Zombie Xiao Lon asked. "Is anyone hurt? Grazed? Anything?"
"No..." everyone murmured.
They sat back down and continued the game after making sure that everyone was okay.
This time, Yashiro assigned K', Iori and Zayn as the killers. They managed to kill all the civilians unsuspectingly.
"So you guys have any idea who the killers are?" Yashiro asked everyone.
Everyone just shrugged and pointed at the wrong people, who pointed back at them.
"Was it you, Aibou?" Maxima finally asked, looking at his friend. K' grinned at him behind the mask and Maxima managed to scan it. "It was you wasn't it?!"
"Yeah," K' said in triumph. "It was me, Iori and Zayn. None of you found out?"
They started laughing at themselves for not being able to identify the killers. This time, Shermie started picking out the roles.
She gave a card to each person labelled civilian, detective, doctor or killer.
"Alright, open your eyes everyone," Shermie announced. "Look at your cards."
Before everyone could look at their cards, the lights went out again.
This time however, there was the sound of someone being stabbed, followed by an anguished scream and the sound of a body hitting the ground.
"Hey!" Kyo exclaimed, his voice changer on.
"Who said that?" Benimaru's voice came.
"I did," Kyo said. "Kusanagi Kyo!"
"Oh yeah, I forgot..." Benimaru said. "Hey! Who did that?"
They ran to the centre of the room to see what was up. They couldn't see a thing!
"Is everyone alright?" Yashiro asked again.
"I don't like this," Chris said fearfully.
The pyromancers illuminated the room with their flames, creating an eerie glow. Chris awakened his blood and did the same too.
"Chris, what are you doing?" Chiyo asked, surprised. "How are your palms burning?"
"Pyromancy," Chris said shortly.
They looked around to make sure everyone were okay when suddenly the lights came on as sudden as it went out.
Aiko gasped.
"Niisan!" Aiko exclaimed, pointing at the ground where her brother was standing.
Iori looked down and almost jumped into Kyo's arms. There was a puddle of blood where he had been standing.
"Niisan, are you okay?" Aiko said, running to her brother. "Are you bleeding?"
Aiko frantically examined her brother before hugging him tightly.
"Aww get a nice girlfriend like her," Shen said, shipping them.
"This is my sister," Iori deadpanned.
"Oooh... I'm sorry," Shen quickly apologised.
"But where did the blood come from?" Iori asked, looking at the ground. "Is anyone bleeding?"
No one were.
"We need to call the police!" Shermie said, taking out her phone with a frown. "I will call the cops right now. This has to stop."
Shermie left the house to make the call. Four more guests greeted her.
It was Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate and Hayabusa.
"Hey Shermie!" Kasumi greeted, wearing a princess costume. She noticed the frown on her face as she gingerly dialled a number. "What's wrong?"
"Something mysterious has been happening," Shermie said. "There's blood on the ground when nobody's hurt!"
The ninjas ran into the house, in full costume and stared at everyone in surprise.
"I sense something," Ryu said, wearing a werewolf costume with the lower half of his face hidden. "There's a spirit here."
"Never mind that now," K' said. "Is that real blood?"
"No," Kasumi said, examining it. "It is, but... it's an illusion."
"Oh no..." Seirah said, worried. "What's going on?"
Shermie came back in with her phone.
"The police are on their way," Shermie announced. "Now we wait."
"It's something supernatural, Shermie," Ayane said, dressed as a fairy. "It's something else."
"What could it be?" Chris asked fearfully. "Do you think it's Orochi's doing?"
The three Sacred Treasures looked at each other and echoed Nah together.
"It isn't Orochi himself," Chizuru said, dressed as a ghostly biker with her hair all over her face. She parted her hair and tucked it behind her ear. "But... I can sense that it's a Hakkesshu."
"A spirit of a Hakkesshu," Hayate said, wearing a demon costume with a bandage covering one eye. "But wait... there's three. And now of them is human!"
"Okay, I can name the two spirit ones," Iori said in an annoyed tone. "Come here, you witches. Deal with me or go back to the Netherworld."
"But who's the third one?" Benimaru asked.
Manic laughter was heard from somewhere.
"Okay, I can tell you who's the third," Billy said, dressed as a pirate. "It's Yamazaki..."
The annoying laughter came again, followed by two ghostly figures appearing before them. Even the ghosts came in costume.
One was blonde, wearing a witch costume while the other one was wearing a ninja costume. They both laughed seductively.
"Where's the maniac?" Billy questioned the ghosts.
"Oh I don't know," Vice said mysteriously.
"Maybe he ran away!" Mature said before laughing. "But he's the one that did all of this, by the way. We're just here."
Well, he soon came, dressed in a psycho costume.
"Seriously..." Yashiro said, annoyed. "Shermie, help me tie him up on a chair or something."
"GYAHAHAHAHAHA!" Yamazaki laughed again.
He started punching the air in front of him, causing everyone to back away in surprise.
But all of a sudden, his eyes turned white as he fell limp, revealing a certain person in a Joker costume behind him.
"There, now the cops just have to burrito him away," Ash said nonchalantly.
And so the police arrived. By that time, Yamazaki was already awake. So the police did have to roll him up in a futon. The ghosts however, disappeared.
"I need to seal them up..." Chizuru said, shaking her head as she watched the police roll Ryuji up in a futon. Well, they had to muzzle him to keep him from biting the policemen.
"What a party..." Chris said, watching the police stuff Yamazaki into a police van. He looked around the residential area and saw that their neighbours were outside, watching. "I'm sure they think we had a wild party..."
"It technically was a wild party," Honoka said. "Anyway, hi Kasumi-Oneesan!"
They enjoyed the rest of the party in peace with no interruptions. Well, the ghosts returned to join them in the fun.
"We were only mad because no one invited us," Vice said, eating a mummy hotdog. "How dare you!"
"You could've haunted our nightmares instead of ruining the party," Iori said, annoyed. "Also, I can never understand you. I went crazy, killed you, and you never left my side? What?"
Mature laughed.
"It's Halloween," Mature said. "The gates of the Netherworld are open today."
"We never really ruined the party," Vice said. "It was all Yamazaki's idea."
They enjoyed the party anyway...
