It was early in the morning and K' was still soundly asleep, his bed in a massive disarray. Though he tried to make his bed every morning, he still woke up to this. What was the point?
His ears suddenly caught a faint Irish tune. K' was still deep in dreamland, the image of a violin orchestra playing the song. The sound suddenly grew louder and louder, loud enough to even pull him out of sleep.
K' jolted awake and found himself face to face with a green Leprechaun's hat, causing him to shrink back with a yelp. It took him a moment to pan down a little and see that said hat rested on Krizalid's head.
"It's you," K' groaned, relaxing. He gave the older man a quick scan and frowned. "Why are you dressed like a leprechaun?"
To his surprise, Krizalid pulled out a tin whistle and started playing a tune from Irish Fantasy. It was surprising how the tiny instrument produced such a loud sound. K' groaned and threw a pillow at him.
"Cut it out, Kriz! What's gotten into you?!" K' demanded, leaping out of bed to face him.
Krizalid placed a couple of shamrocks behind K's ear and grinned. "It's St. Patty's Day!"
"Who's that? Your favourite burger maker?" K' frowned and took the shamrocks off his ear and stared at them.
"St. Patrick has nothing to do with burgers, Dash," Krizalid countered. "St. Patty's Day is held to celebrate the culture and heritage of Ireland." He smirked. "And as an Irish myself, I wish to honour my heritage."
"Yeah, right," K' rolled his eyes, smirking slightly. "You spent like two months in Ireland, was able to get lost in Dublin, which you call your 'hometown'. Besides, you were born in a lab and were directly transported to that NESTS place, which I rightly remember wasn't in Ireland?"
"So what?" Krizalid shook K's shoulders, much to his surprise. "My passport still states that I'm Irish. Doesn't it?"
K' wasn't able to argue with that. "It does..."
"Then it's true," Krizalid grinned and left the room, playing his tin whistle.
K' sighed and followed him out. What he saw in the living room gave him a shock.
The walls were decorated with green scallops and ribbons. There were even paper cutouts of shamrocks and four-leaved clovers.
"Did you do all of this?" K' asked, turning to his older clone in surprise.
"Yep!" Krizalid grinned. "All in a day's work."
K' sighed and retreated into the room to get his phone which he forgot. He turned it on and looked at the time, his eyes widening in shock as he realised it was eight in the morning.
"Kriz, seriously?" K' groaned under his breath and left the room.
Krizalid sat in front of the tv and turned the music on, making Toss the Feathers by The Corrs fill the room. K' ignored the music and placed his phone on the coffee table before making his way to the bathroom. He passed Maxima's room and spotted the big man pop out of his room, evidently surprised at the goings-on.
"Why is the house green?" Maxima asked, rubbing his eye as he left the room.
K' shrugged and pointed a hand at Krizalid, who came over excitedly.
"It's St. Patrick's Day!"
Maxima nodded understandingly. "I see... so you're embracing the tradition."
K' frowned and realised what he meant. After all, all of Krizalid's life at NESTS ended up being a lie, a treacherous mess. It was only in recent times did Krizalid finally start living a normal happy life with them, seeing them as his family. Being Irish was the only identity he had and he wished to embrace that with all his heart. K' decided to not say anything and simply made his way to the bathroom. There was a knock on the door and K' went to answer it, knowing full well who it was from the knock alone. It was Zayn, as he already knew, but he was still taken aback by the way he was dressed.
He was wearing a white shamrock-print haori on top of a black shirt. He was even wearing a green cap with the bill pulled to the back, a pair of green sneakers with white laces, and a pair of green-tinted shades worn above a cheeky grin.
"Am I the only one who didn't get the memo about this St. Patrick's Day?" K' remarked as he stepped aside to let him in. "Even Kula's eating only the green-flavoured ice cream!"
Kula looked up from her large tub of matcha ice cream upon hearing her name. "Hmm?"
"Nothing, you just eat your ice cream," K' said as he closed the door. "Anyway, where's Isolde? Because for all I know, where's Isolde, there's Zayn."
"Well, she ditched me for that St. Pat's parade going on somewhere in Shibuya I think," Zayn shrugged as he made a beeline for Krizalid, who sat eating shortbread cookies. "Can I have one of those?"
Krizalid gladly passed the plate to him and reached for the glass of Irish cream. Maxima looked at him intently before speaking. "That doesn't contain any alcohol, right?"
"Nope," Krizalid shook his head. "Only a dash of whisky."
The others groaned but didn't say anything after seeing how little he was drinking.
"You said something about a St. Pat's parade somewhere?" Krizalid asked, turning to Zayn.
"Shibuya," Zayn said as he bit into a cookie. "You wanna go?"
Krizalid smirked but only shrugged.
"I think we should go," K' suddenly appeared, now wearing a green jacket with a matching top hat and sunglasses.
Krizalid immediately started cheering.Kula had to join the green club too, even bringing a tub of pistachio and mint ice cream with her. They wandered around Shibuya and finally found the parade. It wasn't really hard to notice since it's not every day do a crowd of people in green go walking around in the streets.
Krizalid was having the time of his life, even bringing his tin whistle with him to play Toss the Feathers as he walked. K' wondered where and how he even got the instrument.
Zayn suddenly gasped when he spotted a familiar sheet of silver hair hanging down someone's back. He ran to the person and hugged her from behind. Isolde screamed at first but started cheering upon seeing that it was only her boyfriend.
Maxima suddenly nudged K'.
"What is it, Max?" K' asked as he ate his crispy smashed potatoes.
"We aren't the only ones who decided to join this parade," Maxima smirked.
"Well, yeah," K' gestured towards the crowd of people around him. "It's a parade."
Maxima chuckled and pulled him close, pointing into the distance where two headfuls of striking red hair could be seen.
"No way..." K' grinned as he ran towards his friend. "Oi, Yagami!" He called.
Iori and his sister turned to look at him in surprise, seeing how he was even wearing a green top hat. Well, K' was just as surprised since they were wearing matching shamrock print shirts with green bowler hats.
"Yo, since when do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?" Iori asked his friend in surprise.
"Krizalid," was all K' had to say to make them understand.
"I see," Iori chuckled. "He's proud of his heritage, isn't he?"
Aiko chuckled. "I like your outfit, Dash. Especially your hat."
"I didn't even know I had these," K' shrugged. "But hey, at least I'm in the festive mood too."
Iori stole a piece of his crispy smashed potato and popped it into his mouth.
"Oi..." K' piped up.
"Cookie?" Iori offered him his pack of shamrock-shaped cookies.
K' shrugged and helped himself. "Wanna hang out later?"
"Nah, we're going out with Beni and Kyo for some green beers," Aiko chuckled. "You can come if you want."
K' was about to open his mouth and decline the offer, but Krizalid suddenly teleported beside him with a wide grin.
"Did someone say green beer?" Krizalid gasped. "Count me in!"
K' frowned at him before turning back to the Yagamis. "Then I guess I'll come too. But I'm spending this St. Patrick's Day and every other day by staying sober."
Iori shrugged. "Sure. I think they have green punch for the kids too."
"And Irish Affogato," Aiko loudly announced, eying Kula.
"I'm coming!" Kula ran to them with a grin.
"I think we should all go," Zayn appeared with Isolde.
"The more the merrier, I guess," Iori chuckled. "I'm sure Beni and Kyo won't mind."
K' smirked. "And we don't mind seeing Drunk Kyo too."
"Yeah, that's the reason I agreed to go too," Iori admitted with a smirk. "So it's everyone, then?"The entire K' team had fun partying with the Yagamis, mostly waiting for Kyo to get super drunk. It didn't take long for him to start dancing around, much to Benimaru's dismay. Even Krizalid didn't get that drunk, much to the K' team's relief, and they all enjoyed the night, drinking green-coloured drinks and binging on Irish cuisine recommended by Krizalid.
Hey guys! I know St. Patrick's Day was yesterday but decided to do a chapter anyway. I actually didn't know, but came across a post on Instagram and thought, why not? Especially since it would be fun, with Krizalid and all, and yeah! Here it is!
I hope you enjoyed it!Love,
