Hey guys! This is a request from LuminousSagaOfficial . This chapter took a little long to make, but here it is lol.
"Ben's really missing out on this," Kyo laughed when he and Shingo arrived at the funfair. He gasped when he saw the speeding rollercoaster. "Shingo! Look at that!"
Shingo watched the rollercoaster zip around, his mouth agape.
"I wanna go on that," Kyo smirked as he watched the rollercoaster, his hands on his hips. He gave Shingo's shoulder a light tap. "What do you think?"
Shingo shuddered but agreed all the same.
"Looks scary..." Shingo gulped. "But I guess it would be a new experience."
"You bet," Kyo grinned, walking forward. "Come on."
They went in and decided to go for the hoopla first. They had to pass a kiddie ride on the way to the hoopla counter, when they suddenly heard a baby cry.
"Did you hear that?" Shingo frowned.
Kyo nodded. "Yeah. A baby. A crying baby."
They started looking around for the sound, especially since it seemed like the mother was nowhere about. The child went on and on, crying.
The two men passed a kiddie ride and stopped short. The crying was the loudest there.
"Wait a second," Kyo frowned, going over to the door. He opened it and to his surprise, there was an abandoned baby inside it. "Oh my gosh!"
He took the baby out and tried to comfort it. He wasn't even sure if it was a girl or a boy since they were wearing a white dress-like outfit, complete with a little hat.
"Aww..." Shingo took the baby from Kyo and tried to comfort it instead. "Don't cry... we'll find your mother for you."
Shingo frowned and looked around for anything that might help to cheer the baby up. He gasped when he spotted a game of hoopla where stuffed toys could be won.
"Kyo, let's go play the hoopla," Shingo said.
"Yeah, you keep that baby," Kyo frowned, making his way to the hoopla with Shingo at his heels. "I'm not good with children."
"Well, luckily I am," Shingo chuckled, rocking the baby slightly. "I have a lot of little relatives. For some reason, I'm always stuck babysitting them."
They went to the hoopla and Kyo paid the man in charge and played. He managed to win a Teddy Bear.
"How about that?" Kyo smirked, handing the bear to Shingo.
Shingo started distracting the baby with the bear. It looked interested at first, but soon continued crying.
"Wait, I don't think he's just bored," Shingo frowned. He examined the baby, sniffing to see if the diaper was full, and concluded that it might be hungry. "Maybe he's hungry..."
"Or maybe that bear isn't fun enough," Kyo added.
Shingo frowned. "Where's this convenience store that you speak of?"
Kyo brought him to it and they bought a small rattle and a pacifier. The baby stopped crying, playing with the rattle instead.
"Great, he's distracted," Shingo heaved a sigh of relief. "Now we can have some fun!"
Kyo frowned at the baby. "Shingo, are you sure it's a good idea to bring it around?"
"It dangerous to leave him unattended."
"Is it even a he? What if it's a girl?"
"It's a baby," Shingo shrugged, walking out of the shop. "We need to find a safe place for the baby."
"It doesn't even have a pram!" Kyo groaned. "We can't just leave it anywhere..."
They didn't find anywhere safe and ended up bringing the baby along with them.
"But I wanna ride on the roller coaster..." Shingo whined, still holding the baby. "Kyo, you go. I'll keep this baby occupied."
Kyo lit up and handed him the Teddy Bear before running off, waving. "Thanks, Shingo!"
"He was trying to escape the whole time?" Shingo frowned. He looked at the baby and sighed. "Well, I guess it's just you and me now, baby."
For some reason, the baby started crying again. Shingo panicked. He shook the rattle near its face to cheer it up but it didn't work. He wished he could just leave it somewhere.
So Shingo decided to ask around to see if the baby's mother was anywhere about.
"Do you know whose baby this is? I found it in the kiddie ride," Shingo asked the hoopla man since he was close by.
"Nope, sorry I didn't," the hoopla man shrugged. I only saw you and your friend take the baby out."
Shingo groaned and thanked the man. He decided to look around to see if there was anything he could do to cheer the baby up. He wasn't sure if the baby was just hungry or there was another reason. The diaper was fine, so maybe the little one was hungry.
Shingo frowned thoughtfully. He remembered how his mother and aunts always told him that a baby could start drinking regular milk after six months of age. The baby looked big, so maybe around six or more.
So he made his way to the nearest vending machine and got a carton of milk. He frowned when he tried to think of a way to feed the baby. He couldn't just use the big fat bottle to do it, right?
Shingo started looking around if he could find a bottle.
To the convenience store, he went again.
