1st August
Kyo rang the doorbell and waited, his hands in his pockets. Krizalid opened the door and grinned when he saw him.
"I know exactly why you're here," Krizalid said, stepping aside to let him in. "Anyway, come in. We're discussing about it too."
Kyo followed Krizalid into the living room and saw K' laying on one of the couches, playing on his phone. Nearby, a familiar redhead sat, flipping through the channels while stealing some of Krizalid's snacks.
"I didn't know Yagami had a grudge on Ralf too?" Kyo asked with a grin. "Yagami?"
"Well, I do have something against someone who kidnapped me rather painfully on my birthday," Iori said. "But I do wanna help my best friend get his revenge."
"Ah his here just because he thinks it would be fun," K' said, sitting up on the couch. "Anyway, come on! Let's brainstorm a torturous birthday for Ralf."
"It's on the twenty-fifth, right?" Krizalid said, sitting down next to K'.
"Yeah," Kyo said, seating himself next to Iori. "What shall we do?"
They started discussing something when someone knocked on the front door. Krizalid went to open it, and saw Seirah blowing out a bubblegum balloon. She brushed past Krizalid and stood at the centre of the room, staring at the others with her hands on her hips.
"How dare you guys plan to pay Ralf back without me?!" Seirah retorted angrily. "If there's anyone who wants revenge against the Colonel more than you guys, that would be me. Do you know how he celebrated my birthday?"
They knew. As for us, it will be revealed later in another chapter, don't worry lol.
So, Seirah ended up becoming the mastermind of the plot.
"How is that?!" Seirah asked after she told them of her wild plan. "Clark and the Commander's in on this too."
"Looks like that eyepatch fella does have fun in him after all!" Kyo said with a grin. "Alright, let's start planning this!"Morning of 25th August...
Ralf woke up to a very loud sound and jumped off his bed in surprise. He immediately got into his fighting stance, only to see the emptiness of his room. He scratched his head and left the room. He went to the kitchen and opened the fridge to make breakfast.
All of a sudden something slithered out onto his hand. Ralf jumped onto the counter, throwing the snake onto the ground.
To his surprise, the reptile did not move. It remained stagnant, not even squirming when Ralf poked it with a ladle.
He lifted it with said ladle and poked his finger at it. To his surprise, it was made out of rubber.
This enraged him. He tore the false reptile into pieces with his bare hands, and burned it in the flame while frying eggs and bacon.
That's how much he hated snakes, even if they weren't real.
He ate his breakfast, satisfied that he destroyed the rubber snake. Just then, his phone rang. Ralf made an annoyed sound and looked at his phone. It was from a blocked ID. He rolled his eyes and answered the call, with a fork in his other hand.
"Hello?" Ralf said, putting the phone against his left ear. He didn't hear anything and became exasperated. "Hello? If you have a voice, speak up!"
To his surprise there was a staticky noise on the other end.
"Hello?" Ralf uttered with a slight gulp.
To his horror, there was a faint voice in the background.
"Ralf..." an eerie voice hissed in the background. "Ralf Jones..."
Ralf instantly hung up and put his phone back down, and continued to eat his breakfast in silence. He ended up watching a funny video on his phone go take his mind off it.Ralf just sat around, watching television since it was his day off and he had nothing to do for the day.
Again, his phone rang. He hesitated to answer the phone but the darn thing kept buzzing in his hand. He sighed and answered it.
The same staticky noise came, followed by the same raspy voice. Only it was much louder now.
"Ralf Jones..." the voice hissed again.
"Who- Who are you?!" Ralf demanded, rather shakily. He might be a soldier and what not, but he can still get creeped out. "What do you want from me?"
There was a malicious laugh this time and then the call just cut off. Ralf gulped.
He has never been this scared before. Not even when he was fighting in war.
Ralf switched his phone off and threw it aside, deciding to not dwell on it anymore.
He turned back to the tv and decided to watch the news instead.
To his surprise, the television displayed static too. The news soon flashed to a dark screen. In the dim light, the faces of Seirah and Clark could be hardly made out.
"Ralf!" Seirah called, looking directly at the camera. "Help!"
"Help us!" Clark cried.
"What?!" Ralf stood up and ran towards the television. "What's going on?!"
"A giant snake caught us!" Seirah cried. "Ralf, please! Save us! We don't have much time!"
"We're... we're in the cave," Clark breathed out, his sunglasses still surprisingly intact. "The Ikari Cave Base."
His two friends started screaming in agony, followed by static, and the screen flipping back to the newscaster talking about esports tournaments.
Ralf turned the television off, and quickly pulled something on. He jumped onto his bike and made his way to the Ikari Base that was disguised as a cave.
Ralf popped a stick of gum into his mouth and walked into the cave to search for his friends in danger.
It was pitch black, way darker than before, and he had to use the light of his phone. There was nothing he could see besides darkness. It was unusually cold too. Everyone would usually be complaining about how hot it is in there, but now it's unusually cold.
"Clark?" Ralf called, trying to find his way around. "Whippy?"
"Stop calling me that!" Seirah's voice was exasperated yet anguished. "Ralf! We're over here!"
"Where?!" Ralf demanded, looking around. "I can't see you!"
There was a demonic laugh, followed by a hissing sound. Ralf soon felt something slithering it's way up his legs, eventually around his waist. There seemed to be two of it, and Ralf was trembling in their grasp.
This is the first time anyone has ever heard Ralf scream so loud in fear. The things then slithered their way up to his ears and tickled them.
Ralf instantly passed out, crashing to the ground with a loud thud.Ralf woke up to the faces he will forever recognise.
Seirah, Clark, Heidern and Leona. Two of which were grinning.
"What happened?" Ralf asked, sitting up. He looked down at himself, and saw that he was wearing a formal suit. "What? How did this happen?!"
"Happy Birthday, Ralfy!" Clark blurted out. "How does it feel to have a taste of your own medicine?"
"What?" Ralf said in shock. "You mean...?"
"Yep!" Seirah said, nodding excitedly. "Though, it kinda got carried away..."
To their surprise, he suddenly launched his Vulcan Punch. Luckily, Clark managed to neutralise it with his own.
"Come on, Colonel, everyone's waiting for you outside," Heidern said with a rare grin. "Come, there's a celebration waiting for you."
Heidern held his hand out to help him to his feet. Ralf hesitantly took it and got off the bed, following them to the adjoining room.
And behold! Everyone were there!
"Did anyone see me pass out?" Ralf whispered to Clark.
"No, but everyone heard it," Clark said with a chuckle. "Don't worry, they understand your fear of snakes."
Ralf could've turned red if he wasn't so tanned.
Well, they all enjoyed the party, after all. Ralf almost forgot his embarrassing situation.
But then, one thing still stuck in his mind. What was it that slithered its way up his body?
