"Is the creep... dead?"
"I wish he were. We couldn't him before. Containing him, that's all we could do!"
"That's right... I'm invincible!"
Orochi staggered and got up, levitating before them again.
"I thought so!" Chizuru grimaced. "But after that attack! How?!"
"He can barely stand," Kyo commented, seeing Orochi's state. "You don't have the stuff. And your followers are gone!"
"As long as the Orochi live, I'll be around!" Orochi smirked.
"What?" Kyo said, confused.
Iori started feeling a little strange. He started trembling as his blood started to boil. He put a hand over his mouth and the others could see red dripping from between his fingers. His eyes started glowing red, and he suddenly roared.
"Kill Kusanagi and Yata!" Orochi ordered. "Break the Shingi Troica! Fight, my Orochi son! Listen, Yagami!"
"AAAAAAAAH!" Iori roared again.
To Orochi's surprise, Iori lunged towards him and started strangling him. Steam left Iori's mouth as he took control with whatever consciousness he had left.
"Yagamiii!" Kyo shouted, seeing his rival.
A purple flame suddenly appeared before him and he heard a voice. That voice told him to help Iori, and not let him bear his fate alone. An error made 660 years ago had made Yagami suffer this fate.
Kyo then understood the voice was the Yasakani.
"Purge the evil and help Yagami!" The voice said. "And like 1800 years ago, protect the Kushinada!"
Kyo opened his eyes and the purple flame turned red. He turned around and saw Chizuru watching the sight before her.
"Finish it, Kagura!" Kyo ordered. "Can you do it?"
"As mirror keeper... I must do it!" Chizuru said in determination.
"Fools!" Orochi sneered. "A waste of time! If I release my remaining power, you're..."
He was cut off by Iori roaring again.
"His power... too strong!" Chizuru said. "Kusanagi! Quickly!"
"HEEEAAAAH!" Kyo roared, a running with a flame hand, preparing to lay the final blow on Orochi. "WOOOOOOOOOH!"
He saw the look that Iori gave him while trying to hold Orochi off. Kyo landed the blow, and Chizuru managed to reseal Orochi.
Kyo's knees gave way when everything was finally over. Iori had been knocked out too, dried blood stained the side of his mouth and hands. Chizuru heaved a sigh of relief. Yuki ran towards the fallen Kyo.
"I'll be waiting for you, Kyo!" Was the last thing that Kyo heard before he passed out.
"Help me carry Yagami," Chizuru told Yuki, trying to lift the redhead. "He's so tired out, I don't think he'll wake up anytime soon."
"What about Kyo?" Yuki asked, helping Chizuru carry the pyromancer. "Is he awake?"
They looked around to find him, but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Kusanagi?" Chizuru called, thinking that he might've woken up and left on his own. "Kusanagi, are you there?"
There was no answer.
A brown-haired teenager was left in a glass chamber filled with some sort of liquid. A respirator helped him breath.
"Infuse him with the DNA," a scientist wearing a protective suit said.
The other person nodded, wearing a radiation suit. He pressed a few buttons, and pulled a lever. The man in the chamber instantly started thrashing as the liquid slowly started turning a fiery red. A muffled scream of agony came, and the boy's hair turned a stark grey. His tanned skinned grew a several shades darker.
The glass chamber exploded, and the scientists retreated slightly, avoiding the liquid that was spilled all over the floor. The modified man stayed still on the ground, despite the shards of glass that were strewn around.
The man in the radiation suit took a step closer towards him. To his shock, he suddenly lifted his head, and slowly got up. He ripped the respirator off his face and unsteadily stood up. The scientist retreated a little again.
A flame appeared on the man's right hand. He seemed a little surprised by it, and started backing away from his own hand, but it definitely didn't work since it was attached to him. Panicking, he tried to put the flame out. That didn't work either.
Exasperated, he started destroying everything within his reach. The scientists headed for safety, away from what they have just created.
"Get the sedative, NOW!" The head scientist ordered. "Get the strongest one we have!"
One of them nodded and rushed off to get it. They aimed at the young man, and shot his back. Instantly, he slowed down, and staggered around to see what just happened to him. He saw the dart gun pointed at him, and eventually fainted. The scientist finally lowered his gun.
"This is a success!" He said, satisfied. "Put him in another chamber, the higher ups gave us another order."
They did, and started working on a new project.
Kyo woke up in a dimly lit room, surrounded by strange machinery, and needles. He looked down at himself and saw that he was wearing what seemed to be hospital clothes. It wasn't the usual gown that patients wore, but more like a plain pair of cotton pyjamas.
He groggily sat up and looked around the place he was in. It looked like it was some sort of a... lab. There were strange machinery, and injections of various sizes there.
'What is this place...?' Kyo thought, slowly getting off the bed he was in. He realised that there were wires connected to his arms and legs. There were even ECG pads on his chest, wrists and ankles. 'What are they doing to me?'
He managed to rip the wires out of him, and got off the bed. One wire still trailed from the joint of his inner arm, but he didn't really thought much about it for now.
Kyo staggered towards the door, trying to keep from passing out, and pressed his ear against the wood to listen in. He heard someone speaking, not really intelligible, but it was something about a nest.
"Bird's nest?" Kyo whispered to himself.
There were footsteps walking away, and there was silence behind the door. Kyo weakly made a flame on his hand and melted the doorknob off, making the door to give way with ease.
Kyo slowly stepped out, his bare feet making no sound. He squinted his eyes at the sudden bright light and ran, avoiding as many people as he can. He was still groggy from the sedatives, but managed to get out of there.
Kyo suddenly spotted his clothes. There were in a transparent bag. He quickly changed into them, throwing the pyjama thing he was wearing aside. There was a strange logo on it, and Kyo picked it up again to look at it.
NESTS.
The man they called K' opened his eyes and found himself on a bed. The first thing he saw was a face similar to his.
"Finally you're awake, putrid clone!" The man said. "I am your original, Krizalid, and you're K'."
K' believed him, since he didn't have any memory of his past. He looked at his right hand and saw a metallic red glove covering it.
"What is this?" K' asked the man before him.
"It is to control your flame, K'," Krizalid told him. "Without it, your hand will burn whatever it touches. With it, you can control your flame."
K' then followed whatever he was told, eventually leaving the cartel because of its evil.
Kyo managed to corner his captors, a few scientists.
"What are you trying to do, draining people's strength?" Kyo demanded from them. "Answer me!"
"Harvesting power for conquest!" They answered. "All this will fuel our ambition!"
They told him about K', and Kyo started demanding more. But before they could answer, the place started to collapse and Kyo was forced to retreat.
He ran out of the rubble and saw a familiar blond man, carrying someone who wore blue clothes.
"Beni!" Kyo called, running after him. "Beni, is that you?"
"Kyo!" Benimaru said, turning around in surprise. He had one arm around Shingo and the other held the younger man's arm around his shoulder. "What happened to you? Where did you go?"
Kyo explained as much as he could to him, but decided to not follow him back to Japan. He heard Iori's voice shouting for him to come out some where in the distance, but decided to ignore it since he could see no sign of the redhead, only hear him.
Kyo decided to investigate NESTS privately.
Hey guys! So this is the story of how Kyo was kidnapped from NESTS, K's birth (technically), and how Kyo got outta there. So yeah! I had to take some of the dialogues from the main endings of KOF 97 and KOF 99. I hope you enjoy!
