I sat on the couch in the common room with my small friend group my legs laying across the laps of Ivy and Theodore while my boom sat opened in my lap but I wasn't reading it.

Instead I was being interrogated by Blaise about why in always reading a damn book and that I should join the real world, but if he knew the reason I always had my nose burried in a book he wouldn't be saying that.

"I'm jusy saying Iris you're always reading why don't you ever hang out with us?" He wondered keeping a smile on his face to show he didn't mean any harm.

"Well I'm hanging out with you guys right now aren't I?" I asked scanning my eyes around looking at Ivy, Theo, Ruby, Pansy and Him while keeping an eyebrow raised and ignoring the unwanted presence of Malfoy who sat behind Pansy.

Blaiser sighed with amusement as he rubbed his temple "well you're not wrong but you still have that damn book with you" he said as Ivy took the book out of my hands inspecting it.

"I bet you can't last a month without that book Fay" Malfoy challenged making me shoot my head over to him quickly and narrowing my eyes at him "I bet I can and I know I can all I have to do is stay clear of you're annoying arse and I'll be fine" I said throwing my feet over to sit up.

I saw the light in his eyes glow brighter telling me he had an idea growing to make this more difficult "you have to go one month without reading and you have to hang out with me" my face dropped, he was kidding right? I couldn't let him win this so I stood up walking over to him confidently and holding my hand out.

"You're on Malfoy" I accepted waiting for him to take my hand to shake on it "starting right now" he said taking my hand and shaking it trying to hide the fact I was literally screaming on the inside.

This was going to be one long month.

"That means you can't ignore him Iris" Ivy said as I turned around to sit where I previously was throwing my legs over her and Theo once more before smirking proudly.

I took my book out of Ivy's hands before looking over at Malfoy "catch" I told him before throwing the book over to him which he caught sitting it in his lap with an accomplished smile on his face.

"You two are going to kill eachother in the first week" Theo told us and I shrugged letting my head fall back against the arm rest of the couch closing my eyes sighing "I'd give it a day befor he gets sick of me Theo" I chuckled before eventually listening in on their conversation.

It was nothing interesting to say the least. No more than just what you would hear normally amonst them till of course Theo decided to bring up crushes and I was immediately intrigued.

Still I kept my eyes closed but I listened more carefully incase my name was mentioned which it was when Malfoy decided to ask if I had my eyes on anyone.

I huffed opening my eyes to look over at him before answering "boys are a waste of time" I scoffed rolling my eyes in annoyance "I've never found a guy attractive enough or nice enough to catch feelings for them, no offense Theo and Blaise obviously youre both amazing but you're like brothers to me"

Blaise and Theo shrugged it off as they've probably heard me say that exactly sentence hundreds of times before but Malfoy was even more intrigued as he tilted his head.

"What is it you see in a guy then?" He questioned and I sat up straight to think, removing my eyes off of him to look at the ground.

"I've never thought about it before" I trailed off furrowing my eyebrows before shooting my eyes up at him "why? Think you have a chance Malfoy?" I teased with a playful smirk on my face making the blonde turning bright red and become a flustered stuttering mess as he looked around the room.

"I'm kidding" I reassured as I turned my smirk into a small smile before wiping it off my face completely after realizing what I was doing hoping no one noticed it dispite the faint flush now living on my cheeks.

Ran my fingers through my hair and pushed my glasses up clearing my throat "um I'm going to go to bed" I muttered breaking the awkward silence that filled the room as I stood up walking past Malfoy quickly.

"See you tomorrow Fay"
