The day to return home for Christmas break had arrived and I was sat with Draco as he told me about how he got a snowball to the face and pulled away by an invisible person after calling Hermonie Granger a mudblood.

I called him an idiot then told him that it was Harry, I knew because he had an invisibility cloak and he was best friends with the muggle born witch.

I rested my legs across him which made him smile and shake his head placing his hand on my leg.

While he probably already told his parents that we were seeing eachother I still had yet to tell my aunt which knowing my nosey Ravenclaw cousin Destiny she already said something.

I love her but she gets excited.

So I was nervous to see my aunt because if Destiny did say something to my aunt she probably told her he was my boyfriend when he wasn't.

I love that he understood that I wasn't really ready to fully commit to a relationship yet and that he was giving me time to be ready to commit to one.

Especially when he would take me on dates to hogsmeade to help so we could actually get to know eachother more.

He really was sweet and its funny to think I hated him since I was 10.

Pansy is a little awkward around me still but she told me she could live with it because seeing that I was happy was more important to her because we've been friends almost our entire lives.

Still I apologized to her everytime the topic was brought up.

I was sad to be leaving for break but I knew it would be nice, though I think I might miss Draco a little bit.

"Iris" he spoke pulling me out of my thoughts as my eyes focused on him and only him as I hummed telling him to continue "we're at kings cross station" he told me as I took my legs off him allowing him to stand up as he took my hand pulling me up with him.

He smiled keeping his eyes on mine as he spoke up "see you in a few weeks" he whispered making me smile before suddenly leaning up to kiss him softly for a few seconds before pulling away which made him smile as I responded "yeah; see you in a few weeks"

I wrapped my arms around him allowing him to pull me into a hug before we got off the train and saying goodbye to eachother one last time before leaving eachothers sides for a few weeks.

I walked up to my cousin who had a knowing smile on her face as she threw her arm over my shoulder "so you and Malfoy" she teased making me smile and look down at the ground.

"I know you two aren't officially dating but I'm glad my beautiful baby cousin found someone to make her smile" she continued as I shook my head and looked at her.

She gave me her signature bright smile that made her dark blue eyes sparkle "if he ever hurts you I'll beat him up" she whispered jokingly making me laugh and place my head on her shoulder "I'm not kidding you're like the little sister I never had" she told me tightening her grip around my shoulder for a short moment.

The room was tense as I sat infront of my aunt whos arms were crossed and a mad look stayed in her eyes as she looked down at me.

I bit down on my lip waiting for her to start scolding me. She sighed angerly grabbing her wand to place a silencing charm on the room.

"Iris Aster Fay" she started making me close my eyes for a few seconds when I felt my heart rate pick up slightly.

I knew she wasn't happy that I was seeing a Malfoy and I knew that, that was the exact reason I was called into her study the minute we returned home.

She stepped closer to me and I held in my breath "what are you thinking" she hissed through her teeth raising an eyebrow waiting for my answer.

I shrugged not wanting to irritate her even more than she already was but that only caused me to slam her hands down on the table making me jump back "he is a Malfoy!" She shouted and I stood up copying her movements.

"and I am a Fay!" I yelled back suprising myself with my sudden out burst as she widen her eyes in anger as she huffed loudly "you are stupid" she hissed getting closer to me with every word she said.

I kept a cold expression locked on my face at her attempt to try to break me and intimidate me "you're not my mother and you will never be my mother she would be happy for me that I found someone who makes me happy so why can't you just accept that I found someone!" I yelled as I got closer to her face.

"Your mother is dead Iris get over it" she hissed making me push her back causing her to fall onto the ground "she was murdered infront of me on my birthday! the person who killed my mother is still out there I can't get over that! Get over the fact I'm seeing Draco and that I'll never be your daughter!" I screamed as I stormed towards the door opening it.

She looked at me suprised as she got up running towards me and pushing me against the wall behind me "your mother will never come back, she is dead why can't you get that through your stupid little head" she said through her teeth and hitting me in the head at the last three words.

"You heartless bitch" I snarled edging her on as she slammed my head against the wall and I let out a loud hiss at the pain.

She grabbed my neck and squeezed as she held me against the wall "what did you just call me" she hissed as I struggled to breath but still somehow managing to get three words out.

"A heartless bitch"

Destiny must have heard the sound of my head hitting the wall when she came running down the hallway shooting a spell forward at her mother making her let me go and hit the ground as she flew down the hallway.

She ran towards me picking me up before bringing me into my room and locking the door "shit I hope I don't get expelled for that" she cursed as she placed me on my bed and making sure I was okay.

She sighed and gave me a sad apologetic smile as she rubbed my cheek softly and kissing my forehead softly "I'm sure Dumbledore will understand that you were trying to protect me from you're insane mother" I told him, making the brunette laugh quietly.

I sat up to hug her "thank you" I whispered knowing I'd scold her later for using magic outside of school while underaged.

"Anything for you also it does look like you're going to have a bruise" she said as a loud bang could be heard through the house "shit— Iris pack you need to go owl whoever you're going to go to and explain everything just please" she begged and I nodded getting off the bed to put clothes and shit into a bag.

"I'll be there tonight just stay safe okay? I love you" she whispered as I threw myself into her arms "I love you too" I replied before writing a letter and owling it to Ruby.

"I'll owl you when I get to Rubys"
