Dracos hands fell over my ears once more to muffle the screams and pleads from the other rooms as I shut my eyes hard.

He kissed my forehead and I knew, his home was no longer home to him, instead a prison and we were glorified prisoners.

Draco had pleaded with them to stop because they were triggering me with their actions because in the neighboring rooms muggleborns were being raped and tortured for hours on end just like my mother and I were.

It was around 3 a.m and the manor was completely silent though that was temporary, I sat on the window seel with my knees to my chest, I couldn't sleep anymore.

I had enough, so had he but only he was the one who would say anything "we need to leave, tonight" he said as I turned to look at him as he sat on the bed, eyes on me.

I nodded, "okay"

I could tell he was loosing it, his sanity from staying here but now on this warm july night I knew that he couldn't take it, he couldn't wait and that was okay with me.

I got up walking over to where Draco had placed one of his shirts for me to change into but before I could he spun me around so I could look at him.

"I know we planned on leaving on your birthday bu-" I pressed my finger to his lips so he would shut up before I pressed a small kiss on his lips "I can't stay another night either- I get it" I mumbled as he leaned in kissing me softly.

Silence and a smile found us both as he broke the kiss sighing "thank you— Iris thank you" he whispered before kissing my cheek allowing me to change into comfortable clothes as he started packing stuff up.

I changed into the clothes he set out for me, smiling as I slid his shirt on and brushed my hair down.

I sat quietly on the bed after he told me not to worry, he was almost done.

He walked towards me, halting between my legs and looked up at me, eyes soft and tired as he smiled leaning into the crook of my neck to kiss it softly and wrap his arms around me.

We stayed like that for a little while, I pressed my cheek against the top of his head hugging him "I love you ferret" I whispered, voice cracking slightly as even though Draco and I were silent, the manor wasn't anymore.

Draco leaned up pressing his hands on my ears, forcing me to look at him, he knew what was going on in my mind and even though the sounds from the neighboring rooms had only just registered in both of our minds he pressed his forehead against mine.

"Breathe" it was muffled but I could still hear him.

Once I started to calm down he smiled softly and leaned in pecking my lips before then standing back holding his hand out for me.

I smiled taking his hand as he looked at me "are you sure about this?" He asked as I nodded quietly, looking around the almost empty room before he apparated us to the summer home he had been talking about for months.

It was beautiful, perfect size for two people as it wasn't to big but it wasn't much smaller than the manor.

We walked in and I easily found my way to the bedroom with him following me as I flopped down on the bed, him hovering over me.

His admired me, running his fingers down the side of my face, hooking his finger under my chin to tilt it slightly and I recognized the look in his eyes as one of guilt.

While his eyes scanned my face his hand that wasn't holding my chin up cupped my hip protectively.

He leaned down and a painful smile found his lips, "we'll unpack tomorrow, tonight rest my love" he whispered making me smile when he pecked my lips softly before flopping next to me.

Rolling over onto my side I smiled at him softly "we're free now— we're free its just us now" I whispered as I slipped my hand into his seeing his lips curl up as I scooted closer resting my head on his chest.

"It's just us— together"
