I woke up in my own bed, I was changed into different clothing but I was sore everywhere as I held the ferret stuffed animal closely to my chest.

I opened my eyes and soon realized I wasn't where I thought it was and the numbness in my body subsided making me realize someone was holding my hand as I rolled onto my back.

I didn't want to face him, see him because I knew the expression on his face already just like I knew exactly what he was thinking.

I was guilty so I slipped my hand out of his before speaking up "how did you find me" I asked, my voice weak as he sighed, his hand moving to my leg.

"I came to apologize to you and when you opened the door you were drunk, covered in blood and god I thought you killed one of the girls—" my eyes widened at the last part before looking over at him "then I saw the scars and I brought you into the bathroom and woke up Ruby in the process"

I inches my hand towards his slowly stopping as my fingers brushed his and he paused, a tear running down his face when he took a deep shaky breath.

"I've had you die in my arms before Iris and it almost happened again but this time it hurt worse because I thought you weren't going to comeback this time thinking I was cheating on you, hating me and it hurt me"  I could hear the hurt in his voice, my heart shattered even more.

He looked up, closing his eyes tightly as tears fell down his cheeks and I placed my hand on his cheek, wiping his tears away.

"I love you- fuck I love you Iris and I would never cheat on you" he looked at me with a sad, hopeful smile on his face "I just— I just can't tell you whats going on I wish I could but I can tell you that I'm not using the cabinet to leave the castle-" he hooked his pinky with mine.

"I promise"

I sat up and cupped his face with both hands as he scooted closer to me, I stroked his cheek with my thumb as tears fell from his eyes and I pulled him forward pressing my lips onto his.

He relaxed, smiling against my lips before pulling away and smiling at him "I'm still mad at you-" I stroked his cheek softly as his eyes met mine but he chuckled when I pecked his lips.

"-but I do owe you an apology for what I did accusing you" I leaned in to peck his lips again but he moved his hand to the back of my head holding me in place for a short moment.

but I couldn't help but smile brighter when his hand cupped my hip gently before he pulled back, looking at me with soft eyes.

"It's okay" he brought his hand to his cheek, where mine rested still "madam pomfret said you were free to leave as soon as you feel like it"

I looked at him confused, usually when I was admitted I wasn't allowed to leave till she said I was fit to, usually I was placed on constant surveillance.

"I healed your wounds then you got so clumsy you hit your head in the bathroom so in the end I had to bring you here" he said, pulling me to my feet and I sighed because that explained the pounding in my head.

"But before I brought you here I changed you into cleaner clothes" his hand landed on my back and my head on his shoulder as he escorted me out.

There was an awkward tension between us now, an awkward silence took the place of a once more than comfortable one as we walked through corridors.

His eyes burned into me, I could feel it as he removed his hand from my back moving it to my shoulder as he pulled me closer to him.

This was the loudest silence ever as my thoughts ran quickly and the sound of kids running around, yelling in the courtyard made the headache I already had worse.
