We had the compartment to ourself after Blaise and Theo started arguing over who was hotter out of Pansy, Ruby, Ivy and I before he kicked them out telling them to "kindly stop comparing my girlfriend to her— our friends"

His head was rested on my shoulder and my hands stayed in his almosy white hair, he was more protective now than ever especially the way he handled me.

He always took his time, not getting angry if I wanted some alone time, he'd simply lay down next to me before pulling me into his arms.

Like he did on the train.

This time was different as he whispered into my ear.

"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen"

If only he knew that what they had been talking wasn't what was bugging me then he realized when I looked at him what it was that was bugging me.

He paused and gently held my cheek like I could break at any minute "I know what today is, my love" he whispered as his thumb grazed my bottom lip softly, his eyes softer than before.

"Its easier now— now that they caught him— that he confessed"

I remembered when I got the letter, my aunt had revealed the name of the man who had killed my mother and why she kept it from me for so long.

They thought that he was dead till it was revealed that infact he wasn't dead and that he was in close proximity to me for months.

Barty Crouch Jr; used Polyjuice potion to disguise himself as mad eye moody to make sure that Harry Potter won the tournament, dying in the process and then kill me when the time was right.

My aunt opted never to tell me not because she wanted to keep him save but because she wanted me safe knowing that my father would never forgive her, dispite her threatening my life if he didn't plea guilty for her.

She didn't want me to go looking for him afraid that I would get killed.

I remember crying into Draco's chest because finally, after almost 8 years he wasn't walking free, I finally had some closure and it was easier to celebrate my birthday now.

Draco having kept me up till midnight peppering kisses all over my face to cheer me up because he didn't want me to be sad on my birthday this year.

I even taught him how to use a record player though I think he already knew how.

He didn't let me go to bed sulking and I knew he wouldn't let me ride the train to hogwarts sulking either.

"But I— I don't want to talk about it, my mothers death I mean" I mumbled keeping my eyes on his when Blaise and Theo returned to the compartment.

Now talking about who in our year was the hottest making me groan and lean my head against the wall.

Draco leaned into kiss my jaw line softly startling me while he chuckled quietly and started to leave a trail of kisses from my neck to the underneath of my jaw making my face turn bright red.

I gasped when he found the sensitive part of my neck, kissing it repeatedly while also sucking and biting at it making me wonder if Draco had fully processed that our friends were in the compartment now, that we were no longer alone.

"D-Draco— I would perfer if you didn't give me a hickey in front of our friends" I kept quiet and felt him smirk against my neck before moving back to meet my eyes and winking.

"Just marking my territory"

"What are you? a dog?"

Theo laughed at that comment though I don't think he was paying attention to us up till now because if he was he'd be teasing the day lights out of us.

Draco sat up, pretending to be offended when be placed his hand onto my thigh squeezing it as Blaise and Theo looked over at us.

They smirked, making me sigh loudly.

I leaned my head onto the blonde's shoulder while listening to Blaise and Theo argue.

"Definitely Granger— I mean she's gorgeous"

"She's a mudblood Theo"

"She's still gorgeous"

I chuckled, rolling my eyes when I felt Draco rest his head onto mine and join into the conversation "definitely Iris—" I smiled at the comment seeing the boys infront of me look over, Theo smiling and nodding his head.

"—she's beautiful, perfect actually— such a cuddle bug—" and with that I smacked his leg playfully making him laugh as I bit back my smile.

"Says you" I teased as I sat my head up looking at him with a knowing smile "you're the one who engages in the cuddling and keeping me up till midnight kissing my face" I revealed making his face turn red while the two boys in the compartment started teasing him.

He didn't look mad instead he had a smile on his face knowing he couldn't deny it one bit, he jokingly rolled his eyes and shook his head.

He had his head in my lap, smiling with his eyes closed while I ran my fingers through his hair and played with his tie.

He listened quietly to the conversation Blaise, Theo and Ruby were having about Harry Potter's hearing at the ministry after Ruby entered the compartment because she was stuck with Crabbe and Goyle.

Poor girl.

I only knew the blonde was awake when he snuggled his face into my stomach and opened his eyes to look at me with tired eyes.

I had completely forgotten about the conversation we were having and smiled at the boy in my lap.

"And we lost her" I didn't even realize Blaise had been talking about me so I didn't respond instead brought the hand that sat on the blonde's chest to his cheek before he shifted into a more comfortable potion.

"Yup we lost her, she probably doesn't even remember that her friends were talking to her"

I shot my eyes up at Theo who just shook his head as I let my head fall back hearing Ruby gasp.

"And she has a hickey— go figure"

I threw my head back down and looked forward with wide eyes making the trio infront of me laugh.

I slowly brought my eyes down to the blonde who held a proud smile on his face "like I said earlier— marking my territory"

"You're not a dog Draco"
