Her Eyes || Draco Malfoy

I sat on the couch in the common room with my nose in a book and a blanket wrapped around me to keep myself warm in the cold common room.

It was the beginning of winter and while everyone was out in the snow I was inside alone enjoying the sound of the fire cracking as it filled the quiet common room with sound.

I tried to focus on the pages of my book instead of thinking about whatever was trying to flood my mind but eventually gave up placing the book I was reading down next to me.

I sighed loudly before standing up letting the blanket fall down infront of me as I walked into my dorm room opening my trunk grabbing a photo album and opening it as I sat on the floor with my back against my bed.

Photos of my mother and I covered the pages, a small smile fell on my face as I looked at the memories with my mother.

A knock brought me out of my thoughts as I let myself remove my eyes from the book to look at the doorway seeing Draco leaning against the doorway looking at me.

"When do you go home for the holidays?" he asked sounding a little sad as I sighed shaking my head slightly as I responded "same day as you"

I closed the photo album in my lap and placed it back into my trunk before propping my head up on my bed to keep my eyes on him.

"You look handsome" I complimented changing the subject though I wasn't lying as he did, he looked really handsome.

He smiled looking down tilting his head slightly bringing his eyes back to me and raising an eyebrow at me "was that a compliment?" He asked sarcastically making me get up and walk over to him.

I nodded "well its true" I smiled bringing my hand to his cheek rubbing his cheek with my thumb "you look very handsome" I gushed as I leaned in closing the small gap between us.

His hands landed onto my waist as I smiled against his lips as they moved in sync together when someone started whistling loudly causing both of us to move away from eachother.

"What do you two idiots want?" The blonde asked as I let my hand fall from his cheek so he could turn around to face them I reached out to hold his hand in mine.

"Came to get you but looks like you're already busy with your girlfriend" Goyle teased making my face turn red and let go of the blondes hand.

"I-I am not his girlfriend!" I hissed glaring at the duo infront of me who were snickering at my flustered state "not yet" Draco muttered under his breath making me elbow him in the stomach before letting him slip his hand into mine.

He wasn't helping my argument instead making Crabbe and Goyle both laugh loudly while I rolled my eyes shaking my head "you aren't dating? You two were kissing when we walked in" Crabbe said and I shrugged furrowing my eyebrows slightly.

"Piss off; both of you" Draco told them before turning to me and I avoided his eye contact removing his hand from mine before entering my dorm room.

I heard him curse silently at them before following me placing his hand on my shoulder "ignore them they're just being Crabbe and Goyle" he reassured as I turned to look at him.

His eyes met mine and he gave me a small reassuring smile "I hate them" I told him honestly making him chuckle looking down at his feet "I do too most the time" he whispered before leaning in leaving a soft kiss on my lips.

I smiled meeting his eyes once more as he moved back grabbing my hands and walking backwards letting him pull me down with him as he sat down on the bed "I can't stand them like 90% of the time I'm with them" he continued wrapping his arms around my waist and I let my head fall to the side.

I sat on his lap grabbing his hand and playing with his fingers "I miss my mum especially around Christmas time its just not the same without her you know?" I started as I played with his ring glancing up to see if he was listening before continuing.

"We used to build snowmen together and have snowball fights something I can't do anymore because it just isn't the same" I brought his hand up to my cheek smiling sadly at him.

He looked focused on my words as I connected our fingers and bringing his hand down onto my lap again "I wish I could move on" I whispered letting a single tear fall down my face causing the blonde to frown slightly using his free hand to wipe my tear away before resting his hand on mine.

"You would have loved her; she was the strongest person I've ever met, while my father was on trial after being outed for being a death eater she raised me and kept me safe" I told him squeezing his hand smiling when he squeezed back.

I rested my head onto his chest to listen to his heartbeat "She used to let me rest my head on her chest when I was upset or having trouble sleeping" I whispered as I closed my eyes when he started rubbing my back.

I smiled shifting my position slightly so that both of us were more comfortable but keeping my hand in his as I opened my eyes.

"I just want to say thank you for waiting for me to be ready" I whispered seeing him look down at me with a smile "I'll wait as long as you need" he responded as he continued to rub my back as I moved back to my previous position and closing my eyes again when he started humming quietly.

I fell asleep listening to his heartbeat without realizing it till he woke me up running his fingers through my hair and telling me that it was time for dinner.

I sat up stretching and apolozing quietly for falling asleep when my eyes focused on Ivy who sat at her bed smiling like an idiot at the scene.

I rolled my eyes before getting up and putting my house robes on and looked at Draco "you smile in your sleep you know?" He told me as he got up following us out of the dorm room walking into his to grab his house robes.

"You really like him don't you"

"I really do"
