"Why are you here? I told you to stay!" He was on the verge of crying and scared as he slowly approached where I was alone infront of the corridor leading to the astronomy tower, eyes burning with nothing but the need to be freed from everything.

"I know you did but I couldn't—I told you we were in this together, that it was us against the world" I took a step forward fixing his tie and place a soft lingering kiss against his cheek then looking at him bringing both my hands to his face "remember?"

"Iris- please they're coming if they find out you—" I slammed my lips onto his to cut him off, he hesitated to kiss me back but he did as he brought his hand to the back of my head and pulling away only moments later.

"We can't— Iris you can't be here"

"I don't care" I addmited throwing my hands up dramatically before pointing at myself "I'm your girlfriend and I can't. . . I won't let you do this by yourself—" I paused seeing him smile slightly "and god I love you Draco so much I'll hide if I have to" I whispered as he dropped his hand to my shoulder "just let me be there so you're not alone"

There was silence between us as he moved to lean in pressing a kiss on my lips that lasted not longer than 15 seconds, "we are in this together Draco remember like I always told you and how you always told me" quietly I said this now smiling as both of us forgot why we were even having this conversation.

It was then in that moment I knew that he was only about to do what he was about to for my safety even though he knows I would risk my life for his.

I realized then that the reason he had acted as if he didn't almost die was because he wanted to feel like everything was okay even if it was for a few moments, he wanted a genuinely happy memory for both of us incase this went wrong.

It was that realization that made me realize that this could be the last time we would both be together like this, safe and happy and he; truly believed that truth.

I looked at the door to the astronomy tower remembering all the memories we had together up there as a tear fell down my face.

"If you die" I looked back over at him and smiled through my tears "if you fail and end up dying, I'll die with you" I tried my best not to sound like I was crying but ultimately I failed.

"I can't go on if you die just like you can't if I die" more tears escaped my eyes and he reached out to grab my hand "I'm not me without you and I never will be, you taught me how to love myself and I won't be able to do that if you die-" I was cut off by his lips, he was also crying.

"Together" he whispered as he broke the kiss and looked down at me taking a deep breath, squeezing my hand "Together" I repeated before he began walking with me up the steps where we held our silence.

With every step we took, every glance we stole and every squeeze of our hands I prayed that everything went well, that he wouldn't have to die, that I wouldn't have to and that we would both be able to be safe with eachother.

We reached the entrance to the under part of the top of the main tower and I pulled him with me for a second to kiss him like it would be the last time I ever got to do so before promising to stay below with a pinky promise.

A pinky promise.

Then I watched him ascend up the stairs my heart with him.

I walked around to find a place to stay when I found myself behind a certain brunette.

"Potter?" I called out quietly enough that no one could hear me from above which caused him to jump and turn around quickly.

"Iris?" He seemed puzzled to see me as I nodded walking towards him when I noticed the regret in his eyes "why are you-? you knew? of course you knew"
